# Cacao comes from a tree that has been used by Mexican, Central and South American indigenous cultures for spirituality and healing purposes. The main characteristic of this sacred medicine is opening the heart. During this ceremony we will practice the sacred ritual of drinking ceremonial grade cacao in its purest form to open our hearts to invite ancestral healing. \*\*PERMIT REQUIRED: They really were checking for permits over the last few years, and may be this year as well. The citation is $130.00 if you didn't have your permit. **ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST WEAR A PFD while paddling, it must be on properly.** This paddles will have more of an exploring nature and relaxation feel, but we going a distance to a waterfall. We will be paddling between 2.5 to 3 mph, but we will stop periodically to explore coves and the waterfall. On the water time is 10:30, so plan on being there by 10:00 to get your gear ready and park your car up the hill. This paddle will have more of an exploring nature and relaxation feel to it. A nice relaxing paddle. We will still be paddling about 7-8 miles and will try to keep a speed of around 2.5 - 3 mph or so (except when we stop in coves to explore) so make sure you are up for the distance/speed. We will be heading up to explore a very cute, tiny waterfall. This are for people who want to stop and smell the roses, but want to head up to that waterfall! Triadelphia (Brighton Dam) and Rocky Gorge (T. Howard Duckett Dam) Reservoirs are surrounded by 6,000 acres of wooded property that comprise the WSSC owned portion of the Patuxent Reservoirs Watershed. The two reservoirs collect water draining off 132 square miles and can store over 11billion gallons of water. This water serves as the drinking water for 1/3 of WSSC’s 1.8 million customers. WSSC’s watershed recreation program allows visitors access to 6 watershed recreation areas which include picnic facilities and over 16 miles of shoreline fishing and interior recreation trails. All users must purchase a permit to enter and use the facilities. TRIADELPHIA is closed at this point, due to work on the dam. We will head up stream from the Scotts Cove put in at a leisurely pace. My plan is to head up past the Route 29 bridge and head for a nice little waterfall. We can also take time exploring some of the many coves and fingers of the reservoir. There is no parking at the actual ramp, you need to unload you kayak and then park up on the hill. Total paddle time should be about three hours for a total distance of 7-8 miles, plus a nice long snack/lunch break. Bring a wide brim hat, cold water, and sunscreen. Don't forget to bring snacks or lunch. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST WEAR A PFD AND BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN PERSONAL SAFETY You must have your own equipment and kayak for this paddle. The Organizers and Event Hosts of Wicked Fun Kayakers look out for our paddlers, but we are not trained experts in rescuing paddlers. This class is open to anyone interested in starting to communicate with spirits or wanting to refresh some basics. The class will be broken up into three parts and are led by Echo, a medium, intuitive tarot reader, and practicing witch who also co-leads our Mediumship workshops. Part 1- At this stage we will discuss and practice basic meditation skills and visualization methods that are meant to help ground you before, during, and after any spirit work. This class will focus on protection, shielding, warding (both personal and home), and cleansing spaces either in preparation for spirit work or afterwards. Part 2- Next we will dig into different types of spirits you may encounter, what it might feel like, and what communication is like in the real world. We will also go over graveyard etiquette-both literal and metaphorical. Part 3- Let’s dig in! In Part 3 we will talk about how to deal with negative or malicious spirits along with what signs of a spiritual attack might look like. At this stage we will also go over spirit contracts, a good way to make spiritual bonds and friends that help protect you, and have time to discuss experiences and to practice. If you miss one class, don’t worry! Feel free to drop in at any stage if you have questions or are curious. Echo grew up in a haunted house and learned how to use their gifts as a medium and witch to communicate with spirits, protect themselves, and clear negative spirits out of spaces when necessary. Echo graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in wildlife, and started attending Sticks and Stones’ Mediumship workshop after moving to the area in 2022. They specialize in energy work and cleansing, intuitive tarot, dreamwork, animal communication, outdoor meditation, charms, ancestor work, and spirit communication. Please join MoonFire on Sunday, June 21 at 12:00 PM, for an indoor observance of the Summer Solstice, the time when fire, courage, and willpower are strong. The Solstice has been celebrated by many people around our earth. It is the cusp between the waxing days and the waning days. A potluck and time for fellowship will follow the ritual; you might like to bring food or drink to share, along with your own plates/utensils, or share our food and supply of washable re-usables. MoonFire holds ritual the 3rd Sunday of every month at the UU Church of Arlington, VA, starting at 12 PM with a pre-ritual briefing. We meet to learn and practice American Sign Language and to grow our familiarity with Deaf culture. Facilitated by hearing folks (with a connection to a professional interpreter) using Deaf-created content. People of all ASL skill levels are welcome! As we learn, we hope to connect more with the Deaf community in Central Ohio. Join us as you're able! Come regularly or just once - whatever you're looking for!
