During and after college, he had the opportunity to conduct some of his favorite works and to perform extensively as a pianist, accompanying singers and sharing the stage with string players in sonatas by Beethoven and Brahms. Professionally, he worked for years as a tutor across a range of academic and test-prep subjects, including designing curricula for courses such as AP U.S. History and reading comprehension. He then spent a decade teaching piano and music theory full time. Session Abstract ### **Data Cleansing using Data Bricks** Machine Learning is highly dependent on adequate data. Not only does quantity matter, but more importantly quality. In this session we’ll cover how to build a custom automated process using Data Bricks. This will provide methods for cleaning data in a data lake using functions in Azure. \*Please note, that we will be using Microsoft Teams for the online portion of this meeting. They are powerful, set-based methods to view data in unexpected ways. Window functions provide easy, set-based solutions to solve some common problems: * Using running totals * Performing operations in intervals * Identifying data gaps and islands * Performing aggregates without losing detail Many people are confused by window functions and do not know how to use them properly. This session will explore window functions, how they work, and how to use them. Demonstrations with several examples will solidify how window functions can simplify queries and make them more powerful.
