Never been? Well, let me tell you it's quite the experience. I recommend bringing comfy clean clothes and anything that makes you feel safe. We will work together using language and presence to cocreate safety. It helps to come prepared with your favorite stuffed animal or a water bottle or snacks that make you feel good. This sober event will last about 4 hours give or take a few minutes and we will begin by 5:00pm. That means doors will lock and we will all put away our phones. (so if you think you'll be late let me know) There will be a meditation and some exercises before we engage in a Cuddle Social that will last roughly 2 hours. Please know that No Touch is Required throughout my events. I'm slowly learning to trust myself and opening up to vulnerability. It's a long journey that I hope you will join me on. Death is a natural part of life, yet many of us feel unsure how to help loved ones during this important transition. In the Kadampa Buddhist tradition, death is understood as a meaningful moment—one that can be approached with clarity, compassion, and purpose. In this workshop, we will explore practical and heartfelt ways to support others at the time of death and after they have passed. Drawing from Buddhist teachings on the death process, we will learn how our presence, prayers, and intentions can be deeply beneficial for those who are dying, helping to create a calm and peaceful environment for their mind. The workshop will also introduce powa, a special Buddhist ceremony and meditation practice performed on behalf of the deceased. Powa is a method of compassionate assistance that helps guide the consciousness toward a positive rebirth. We will learn when and how this practice is performed, its meaning, and how it can be engaged in as an act of kindness and care. This workshop is suitable for anyone interested in end-of-life support, caregiving, spiritual care, or developing a wiser and more compassionate relationship with death. No previous experience with meditation or Buddhism is required. Energizing Walk for Busy People!
Join our weekly walking meetup to have fun, maintain a healthy lifestyle, meet new people, and enjoy nature! We meet Saturdays at 10am, by the bike racks and benches 150 feet in front of BUBBLES Hair Salon in Reston, leaving no later than 10:05. Every week we'll walk the Green Trail to Lake Anne Plaza (\~1 mile), pause there for 5-10 minutes (water, bio, and from April-Nov a Farmer's Market), then circle the lake (2 miles) before returning to our starting point. It's roughly 3.5 miles and takes about an hour and a half. Afterwards, some members will often head to a local restaurant to refuel and relax before tackling the rest of the day. This event is open to all ages and fitness levels, and both friends and dogs are always welcome! We recommend dressing for the weather (umbrella, water bottle, snow shoes, hat, etc.) since we'll always walk, rain or shine. By signing up, you accept and assume all risks and responsibilities with this activity, and nobody will be held liable.

• What we'll do We plan on meeting at Grace Presbyterian Church at 9:30 AM on Saturday to assemble care packages and help people who have very little and help them survive. This would be a great time to bring a friend or your children to do something good for humanity. After we assemble the 120 backpack care packages, we plan to have coffee and snacks, socialize and then drive to DC to distribute the backpacks. If you choose to go with us, we'll return about 1:00 pm. Looking forward to seeing you all at the Meetup. • How can you help? \- You can contribute money\. In-person event in Philadelphia Area!!!** Learn more about meditation and understanding what is ‘Satsang’, a meditation in silence in Transcendental Light, that helps you open your heart to light and love. A free weekly Saturday 75 minute workshop will help you practice meditation, while learning more about meditation and Satsang. The workshops are targeted at any level of practitioner alike. Join this online ‘Satsang Workshop’ that will teach you the ancient practice of meditation. The session is an informal one for beginners and there is focus on explaining the process on how to learn and practice. These sessions will always include a deep silent meditation on Transcendental Light for 20-30minutes.
