Learn Meditation and Stress Management in MD
Learn to manage stress and achieve self-growth through simple relaxation and Meditation.
Heartfulness Meditation is a simple, modern, methodical approach to meditation. Rather than homing in on your breath or repeating a mantra, you simply focus inward, on your heart, to cultivate inner strength and serenity. Heartfulness meditation is gaining traction in recent years. It focuses on the heart, allowing individuals to connect with themselves on a deeper level, and ultimately achieve peace, relaxation, and clarity. It is a practice that encourages patience, self-compassion, and acceptance, helping cultivate a deeper appreciation for the present moment.
This practice is offered with love and at no cost

ASL Sunday Silent Social at Fairfax's Wegmans
Whether you're Deaf, HoH, an interpreter, an ASL student, or just want to learn or practice American Sign Language (ASL), we welcome all levels of signers to come join us for an evening of ASL socializing and practice.
This event occurs on the first and third Sundays of every month, in the heart of Fairfax County at the Fairfax Wegman's (corner of Route 29 and Monument Drive). We can be found on the upper level, typically near the stairs. We generally start around 7 pm.
ASL beginners are welcome, but you should know the ASL alphabet and some basic signs - this is not an ASL class, but the more experienced signers are generally happy to help beginners learn and improve. There is no better way to develop your signing skills then by joining the conversation with other signers. There is a place for everyone to join, learn and practice. Regardless, we are always welcoming so donât be discouraged to attend; this is very informal and new folks are always welcome.
Note, some attendees arrive early and grab some of Wegmanâs food for dinner, so you can combine a shopping trip with the ASL practice.

Underwater Hockey (open to new players!)
New players are always welcome to come try it out!
What you need:
A bathing suit. Preferably something light and tight.
We have extra gear for new players. But if you have your own pair of flippers, a snorkeling mask, and a snorkel then bring them along.
Please bring this signed and completed form to practice:

Unless you are already a member of USOA:
https://www.underwater-society.org/page/show/4284471-usoa-registration
To find us:
You can tell the front desk that you are here for underwater hockey and they will let you in for free. You can ask them for help finding the pool.
If no one is at the front desk just walk past it and there will be a set of stairs on the left. Take the stairs and take a right at the bottom of the stairs. The men's and women's locker rooms are straight ahead, and you will need to go through them to access the pool deck. Once you are out on the pool deck you will be exactly where we practice.
Agenda:
First 15 minutes: Arrival at the pool, getting gear from the shared gear bin, dividing into two teams, getting gear on.
Minutes 15-30: Getting in the water, teaching any new players the basics
Minutes 20-70: Scrimmage/practice.
Minutes 70-75: Putting away club gear, putting the lane lines back in place, clearing the pool deck.
(optional) afterwards: Go to a local restaurant for food, drinks, and socializing.
The End of Human-Scale AppSec
For decades, application security has been built around a simple assumption: humans are the primary producers of software. We train developers, review their pull requests, model threats in design meetings, and build controls around human decision-making. That assumption is rapidly breaking down.
As AI coding assistants evolve into autonomous software agents, organizations will gain access to an effectively unlimited engineering workforce capable of producing software at a speed no human team can match. The pressure to adopt these systems will be driven not by curiosity, but by competition. Companies that successfully harness agentic development will ship faster, iterate faster, and potentially outpace those that do not.
This shift forces a fundamental rethinking of application security. The future of AppSec is not securing developersâit is governing an agentic workforce. Threat modeling, code review, security testing, and change management will not disappear, but they will need to operate at machine speed and increasingly be performed by systems rather than people. In this talk, Ken Johnson, CTO of DryRun Security, explores what the next decade of application security may look like, the assumptions that will no longer hold, and why security professionals must understand these systems deeply if they hope to influence the future rather than react to it.
Guided Hike - Sterling Forest Secret view
In order to officially secure your spot on this event and to receive the details email of where to exactly park and meet with us you must register on our site by clicking the link below.
https://www.trailboundproject.com/service-page/guided-hike-secret-view?referral=service_list_widget
Our events typically fill up at 24 people for guided hikes! You won't see the attendees here on meetup as registrations are on our site but we wanted to let you know that we typically see large outings for all of our events!
This guided hike has a nominal non-refundable $20 registration fee to secure your spot.
The Secret View hike is a short out-and-back 2.5-mile hike with 450' of elevation up and down in a less popular part of Sterling Forest State Park in NY. We named it the Secret View hike because it is a very little-known view only accessible via unmarked trails. The view technically has a name, but you'll need to join us on the hike to find out what it is! The only hikers who visit it are locals who are... well... in the know! It's an easy-to-moderate hike that we'll take at a leisurely pace.
We park at the trailhead near a medium-sized beautiful lake and head off on one of the park's unmarked woods roads. After taking in the interesting sights and features along this flat section, we turn onto another unmarked trail to head up to the small ridge. At the summit of this unnamed peak in New York, we find ourselves looking out at an incredible 180-degree view of the forests and peaks of New Jersey without any evidence of civilization. Since it's a short hike, we'll take our time resting, chatting, and enjoying the view at the top before we head back down.
The parking and hike details are emailed after registration.
