Akt x Anatomie / Life Drawing x Anatomy
Curious about starting life drawing? Or want to deepen your practice?
Join us at Kunstraum Heartspace, where we enjoy a wonderful life drawing session every Wednesday evening!
Our teacher Thorsten has many years of experience and will gently guide you to your next level. This course is designed for beginners as well as experienced life drawing artists.
Our models change weekly. They allow us to practice short and long poses. This allows your eye to train in recognising movement and form, while also giving you enough time to study the model more closely.
In addition, every week, we include a short excursion into different aspects of figurative drawing – be it anatomical issues, lighting, or the structure of the human figure.
You can join and pause at any time, as you will receive individual guidance.
**Materials:**
* Please bring pencils, sharpeners, and erasers!
* We provide paper, but of course, you can bring your own sketch book or preferred paper types.

[HYBRID] [May] Golang Meetup
Hello Gophers,
Welcome back for another year of Go talks and networking!
Would your company like to host our meetup? Let us know!
If you'd like to give a talk - submit your proposals here: http://goo.gl/forms/54YvJT223F
All talk formats work: short talks (5-10 min) as well as regular length (25 min).
If you have more ideas - talk to us at the Gophers slack: https://invite.slack.gobridge.org/ in the #berlin channel, and follow us on twitter: https://twitter.com/gdgberlingo
**Speakers**:
*Simon Schulte* is a Tech Lead with nearly a decade of experience building scalable backend systems across fast-paced product companies. With a background in business informatics and a passion for Golang, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps, he has spent his career solving complex engineering challenges. He is particularly excited about leveraging AI and LLM workflows to eliminate the tedious, repetitive work that slows developers down — think tech debt, boilerplate, and documentation — so engineers can spend their energy on what actually moves the needle. For Simon, AI isn't about replacing developers; it's about giving them back their time.
*Daniel Peralta Madriz* is a backend engineer from Costa Rica with around 6 years of experience working with Golang, although, sadly, he's been spending most of his time lately working with Node.js :(. He is interested in distributed systems, scalability, and developer experience, and is currently experimenting with how to leverage LLMs to safely and autonomously execute repetitive tasks.
*Michael Morgen* is a Platform/infra engineer by day, runtime and network optimizations by night.
Join in person at:

Welcome words from the organizers
7:35 PM: Talk 1: Go-ing Against the Chaos: Deterministic LLM Workflows / Daniel Peralta Madriz (Backend developer) & Simon Schulte (Techlead of Webhooks and Notifications) @ Talon.One
LLMs are powerful, but “it works most of the time” isn’t good enough for production. In this talk, we’ll walk through how to design deterministic workflows around non-deterministic models using Go. From structured iteration loops to validation steps and guardrails, you’ll learn how to move beyond prompting and start engineering reliable LLM-powered systems
8:10 PM: Announcements and break
Announcements, HR lost & found, open mic
8:30 PM: Talk 2: About Go Memory Allocator / Michael Morgen, Platform/infra engineer @ Mirantis
A short talk about how Go gives memory to your program. We will look at the main allocator parts, why small allocations are usually fast, when Go asks the OS for more memory, and a couple of simple examples where this knowledge helps performance.

BitDevs Bitcoin Socratic Seminar Berlin
**BitDevs Bitcoin Socratic Seminar Berlin @ c-base Raumstation**
Join us for our monthly interactive **[Bitcoin Socratic Seminar](https://bitdevs.berlin)** in Berlin! We’ll start with pizza and beer (sponsored by [Ordimint.com](https://ordimint.com)), followed by deep-dive discussions on the most interesting *technical* developments in Bitcoin from the past month. Participation by everyone is highly encouraged!
Our goal is to foster lively discussion, knowledge sharing, and debate. In the weeks leading up to the event, participants gather topics such as:
* New research papers
* New BIPs and BOLTs
* Network statistics
* Technical blog posts
* Mailing list and Delving Bitcoin threads
* Pull requests and updates from key repos (Bitcoin Core, LND, Core Lightning, Eclair, BDK, rust-bitcoin, LDK, Electrum, …)
Each topic is briefly introduced by our moderators and then discussed before moving on. The full list of links will be published at [bitdevs.berlin](https://bitdevs.berlin) 1–2 days before the event — please review them in advance to get the most out of the discussion.
**Important details:**
* This event is highly technical — best suited for those with a solid grasp of Bitcoin internals. Curious newcomers are always very welcome, but expect in-depth conversations (see the former topics at [bitdevs.berlin](https://bitdevs.berlin)).
* Chatham House Rule applies: you may share what was discussed, but not who said it. No livestream, no photos, no recordings.
* The evening begins with food and networking; people often stay after the seminar to keep talking.
**Co-hosted by:**
* [Felix](https://x.com/FelixWeis)
* [Freerk](https://x.com/freerko)
* [Fabian](https://x.com/fjahr)

Top Rock & HIIT Dance Workout - ALL LEVELS!!!
**Combining a variety of TopRock break dance moves in the format of HIIT training, this class will be like no other you have taken! Specifically created with non-break dancers in mind, this class is fun, engaging and totally beginner friendly!** 🤸♀️
*What exactly is TopRock you might be asking?* Toprock is the **standup part of breakdance**. When break-dancers are showing their skills, they will often start with toprock. Beginners often find toprock to be easier than other elements of [breaking](http://%5Bhttps//www.mygrooveguide.com/dance-info/breaking/what-is-breaking%5D(https://www.mygrooveguide.com/dance-info/breaking/what-is-breaking) "breaking"), because it is done standing up. So this will be a great introduction to breaking for beginners or those wishing to expand their breakdance skills.
**Taught by 3x Breakdance World Champion and Choreographer of Flying Dreams show at Wintergarten, Bboy Lou.Ease of the Flying Steps! He has also worked with contemporary dance companies such as Akram Khan Company, Wang Ramirez and Constanza Marcras / Dorkypark.**
**📋 Agenda:**
* *Check in will begin 15 minutes prior to class*. Please arrive on time to ensure class starts at the designated time.
**💸 Cost**: *Donation based* **to help with maintaining the venue and group maintenance costs.**
**👉 Other Things to Note:**
* *Class will be in English/German*
* *Please make sure to wear comfortable clothes you can move and sweat in. Shoes should also be comfortable, although they are not mandatory. Feel free to dance barefoot or in socks if you like.*
* *Bring a water bottle to refresh between sequence breaks.*
* *Changing room/clothes storage and toilets provided on site free of charge.*
* ***If you RSVP and are unable to make it, please be considerate and cancel 24 hours in advance to make space for someone else.***

💼🧠 Neurodivergent Co-working & Networking 💬🌈
This **coworking and networking** meetup is for neurodivergent people to get our tasks/projects/work done and to connect with other neurodivergent, whether for focus work or just finding someone who understands what you’re working on.
**PLEASE READ THE EVENT DESCRIPTION BELOW:**
So we can be self-accountable for our own comfort.
**Location:** Werkräume inside Humboldt Forum https://maps.app.goo.gl/Jw5totHbQadfsJsE8
The **exact area** of Werkräume where we cowork will be updated in the **pinned comment on the event page**, as it is a public space and we cannot reserve a specific spot.
**How to find Werkräume:**
* **If you are starting from the Front Desk:**
Find the large escalator behind the front desk. Go up to the 1st floor (one level above ground floor).
* **If you are starting from the Humboldt Bistro:** go to the other building. Find the escalator and go up to the 1st floor (one level above ground floor).
* **Final Destination:** On the 1st floor, look for the Werkräume sign.
**What to expect:**
* We usually use **[Pomodoro method](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique).** **When you are late** and the session has started, just take a seat and start working until break time.
* However, **feel free to work with how you are most comfortable with.** What's important is, we all become accountability buddies.
✨ **Notes:**
1. **This a public place so bring your sensory management tools (earphone, stim toys, etc).** We can´t control the environment if there are other groups having their activities.
2. **The Werkräume can't be reserved** so we will all help each other by occupying the seats.
3. The place has wifi, locker and toilet.
4. The space has power plugs, but only in specific areas. Please ensure your devices are charged before coming.
5. **Food & drink:** there is a Bistro but pricey. Feel free to bring your own. **IMPORTANT:** No eating in the Werkräume. Use the public visitor seating instead.
6. **Bring a coin for the locker.** Security may ask you to store bags in the lockers outside the Werkräume.
7. **PLEASE EDIT YOUR RSVP if you can't come.** This helps us better manage the coworking session. Your update is much appreciated.
8. **All organizers are volunteers who are neurodivergent individuals.** We ask you to **be kind to us** and for your **support in making the event an enjoyable** for everyone.

Malcolm X Day
Washington D.C.’s **Malcolm X Day** began in May 1972 and was held in Anacostia Park for 23 years. it was a prominent community-focused celebration of Malcolm X’s legacy. The day served as a unifying force, rooted in community organizing an focused on the concrete conditions shaping the lives of local residents. It was a major, grassroots “Unity in the Community” festival featuring African-centric vendors, speakers, local musicians, and performers to inspire Black residents before disbanding in 1995.
[Pan-African Community Action (PACA)](https://pacapower.org/) is proud to announce that we, in collaboration with several local organizations, will be bringing **Malcolm X Day** back to Anacostia Park on May 17th from noon to 5pm. We will be celebrating the life of Malcolm X and his ideology of Black, working class unity with performances, speakers, food, and informative activities.
