Things to know before playing:
Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls;
We play Thursday Night Football (outdoor only) . We play 90 minutes (kick off is at 20:30, and we meet at least 15 minutes before for a warm up phase). Post-Corona football matches are most likely between 14-16 and 28-32 players. If you would like to join please bring artificial turf shoes (like the ones for indoor turf) and shin pads (not mandatory but definitely recommendable).
All I ask is that you come with a good mood, be respectful to everyone, and pay online using the link below.

We play light: no sliding, hard tackling, fighting, screaming, & hopefully no injuries. We need to respect current regulations in Vienna, Austria.
The main priorities are to have fun and being safe. The drinks are relatively free after the game in the local pub, served to those who have shown fantastic football fair-play skills. Weâll confirm the location, the pitches, and the dressing room numbers via our dedicated Football WhatsApp group. Keep an eye out for the group messages. See you all soon.
Sorin SMS/ WhatsApp +43 6764276984 (please ask to be added to our football groups). We will probably need to confirm your presence if you are coming for the first or second time.
Important management rule:
\> "No shows" are penalized with 10⏠fee\. Please remove your name from the list at least SIX\!\!\! \(6\) HOURS before the event\. Book a place via FootballExperiences\.NET using this link
[Kick A Ball via FOOTxp.COM](https://footballexperiences.net/kickaball/)
One small final note:
Please avoid trying to take justice in your hands. If someone is talking bad, complaining, insulting someone, fouling on purpose or committing the usual football shenanigans, please let the organizers know. Measures will be taken, we assure you. Any misbehavior on your part, such as responding in an obscene way, fighting, or leaving the pitch is not a practical and diplomatic way of resolving the issues (it tends to create more tension and cause more problems). Letâs be respectful and mature and try to enjoy the game we all love. Thatâs why weâre all here. Get to know people from all over the world and have fun!
Thank you.
Sorin

Free Meditation & Yoga â just show up â we start at 19.00 on Thursdays
Hello there!
We'd like to welcome you to our FREE Sahaja Yoga meditation meetings hosted by Wolfgang, Hamid, Anil, Shantanu & friends which take place in Vienna â 7pm Thursdays.
With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we normally sit on chairs to achieve yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats and no special clothing required.
We are all volunteers of a Charity association and have many years of experience in offering free Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes.
All across the globe, many are seeking new sources of energy. Meanwhile, the most transformative energy of all is hiding in plain sight, within us. It's natural, sustainable, and infinitely renewable. It's called inner kundalini energy. And everyone already has it â everyone!. It is often likened to an inner feminine or motherly energy which automatically knows about us and what is needed to help us restore balance and harmony within our subtle being. It works spontaneously, effortlessly, organically and cannot be paid for.
The classes are designed to help those attending get into a genuine meditative state, which can be felt tangibly. It is quite effortless and spontaneous.
The free classes feature introductory talks, video's, practical workshops and general question and answer opportunities, making them perfect for seekers trying to establish a state of yoga, and they are available across Vienna most evenings and throughout Austria.
The idea is that you don't do yoga - you Achieve Yoga!
Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple, time-honored technique. It helps those who enjoy it, reduce stress and increase wellness and health holistically. It brings better focus and helps people become more centered and better balanced. Anyone can do it.
Founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a world wide movement for peace and self awakening.
All the meetings and classes are free of any charge. Each week we go through simple meditation techniques, often with guided meditations to help reduce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation.
We share tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and balancing the subtle body.
The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with no mental activity or thoughts about the past or the future.
Occasionally there are 1 day retreats to help those interested, deepen their individual experience and hear advice and tips from those who have been practicing for some time. Itâs ultimately all about getting into âthoughtless awarenessâ, a natural state of being.
10 Reasons to try-out Sahaja Yoga Meditation in Vienna in 2015
Itâs easy.
You donât have to spend years living in the mountains to achieve enlightenment. You donât have to give up anything or spend weeks in silence. You donât have to learn mantras or wear special clothes or even try to clear my mind. The meditation simply happens spontaneously. The classes are easy and fun, and as long as you keep up your daily ten minutes of meditation you find you are able to achieve a deep and peaceful meditation on a regular basis.
Itâs free.
You donât pay for your meditation. There are no catches, and there are no hidden expenses. If you missed attending classes one week, it doesnât matter. You just picked up the classes again when you could manage it. It is simply the generosity of spirit of other Sahaja Yoga meditation practitioners that allows Sahaja Yoga to be taught to whomever desires it, at no cost.
You can see results.
You feel relaxed and you feel a deep sense of calm. Now you can also feel your chakras (energy centres) and through the meditation techniques learnt along the way you can understand the vibrations of your own energy centres. If you feel unwell you meditate and use the techniques youâve learnt to heal your chakras, and you can then feel the centres clearing, and as a consequence your health improves.
Itâs all-inclusive.
All the major religions and their core teachings are acknowledged and respected in Sahaja Yoga. No oneâs spiritual journey is right or wrong. And through meditation the wisdom of all the great gurus and saints is easily revealed and understood. In fact, youâll find that since youâve been meditating youâll come to understand and appreciate the teachings of great teachers such as Lao Tse, Buddha and Mohammed.
Youâre your own boss.
You meditate and introspect at your own pace. You donât have to keep up with others, or feel pressured into doing things youâre not comfortable with. You are your own teacher, your own guru, your own master. This technique of meditation empowers you and enables you to help yourself. You donât have to rely on anybody else. Of course, there are many people who practice Sahaja Yoga Meditation who can teach you a great deal about the yoga & meditation and its various techniques. However, all that you need is ultimately within you.
Itâs everywhere.
Sahaja Yoga is practiced in almost every country in the world. So, no matter where you travel you can always locate a local Sahaja Yoga Meditation programme that you can attend. Whenever you get the chance, and no matter where you are, You try to link up with other Sahaja Yoga practitioners and enjoy a collective meditation. (Meditating with others is a much deeper and more powerful experience than meditating alone.)
Itâs portable.
You donât need to take anything with you to meditate: no mats, no potions, no special clothing or books. You can meditate anywhere â in a quiet room or on a noisy bus; at the beach or watching a movie. Thoughtless awareness (the state of meditation) is easy to achieve if you keep meditating daily, and it can be achieved in almost any situation.
It makes sense.
Everything youâll learn will make sense. There is a lot of common sense in Sahaja Yogameditation, and even though not everything was known to you (for example, the chakras and their respective qualities), once you have a chance to learn more about the meditation, it feels very natural and comfortable.
Everybody does it.
When you begin a hobby or join a new group, you often find that there are particular types of people who are in the group with you. For example, some groups attract younger people, others older folk; some groups have a lot of people who are wealthy, or people who live in a certain part of town. In Sahaja Yoga you will find people from every walk of life, from every demographic â male and female, young and old, rich and poor, every shape, size and colour, with varying interests, languages and beliefs. You donât have to be a certain type of person to do Sahaja Yoga meditation. It is one of those rarities: something for everybody.
You feel good.
Without fail, every time you sit down to meditate you feel better. Whether you manage to have a deep meditation or not makes no difference, and as a consequence your family and friends are reaping the benefits.
So there you have it......ten reasons......

Short gravel bike tour through Lobau and beyond
We start our tour at the **northern end of the SteinspornbrĂźcke**, an ideal starting point for exploring the Lobau.
**Route and terrain:**
The tour takes us through the beautiful nature of the Lobau, part of the Nationalparks Donau-Auen as well multiple farmfields in the south-western Marchfeld. The terrain consists of **90% gravel and crushed stone paths**, which vary in thickness. It is therefore important that your bike is suitable for such conditions (e.g., **gravel or mountain bike**). The route is very flat.
**Length and pace:**
The total distance is approximately **35 km**. We will ride at an **average minimum speed of 21-23 km/h**, which is a moderate pace for experienced cyclists. Please only participate if you feel fit enough to do so!
**Sun exposure and breaks:**
A major advantage of this tour is that **70%** of it is in the **shadow**, which is particularly pleasant on warm days. About halfway through the route, we have the opportunity to **refuel our water bottles** at the **Radlertreff Hermi**.
**Distance:** 35 km
**Elevation gain:** close to none
**Maximum elevation:** N/A
**Tempo:** 21-23 km/h
**Link to the route:** https://www.bergfex.at/sommer/wien/touren/wanderung/5288930,lobau-and-beyond-gravel/
**Notes:**
Please bring enough water and maybe a small snack.
A helmet is recommended for safety reasons.
Before the tour, check that your bike is in good working order (brakes, tires, gears).
Let's enjoy a sporty bike tour through the Lobau and beyond together!

Rax & Schneeberg Views: Scenic Circular Hike from Payerbach
Hi everyone,
On **Sunday, June 14th, 2026**, I'm planning a scenic circular hike from **Payerbach** with beautiful views of **Rax** and **Schneeberg**.
This hike is all about walking and experiencing the landscape together, with plenty of time for conversation, short breaks, and simply being outdoors.
**Hike Details:**
**Distance:** approx. 12 km
**Elevation Gain:** approx. 550 m
**Walking Time:** approx. 5 hours
**Difficulty:** While the hike is technically mostly easy, please make sure you are comfortable with the fitness requirements of the distance combined with the elevation gain.
More information about the route:
**Meeting Point & Travel**
**Meeting Time:** 08:30 at **Bahnhof Meidling**, downstairs near the ticket machines and travel information centre, to organise the *Einfach-Raus* group tickets.
We will take the train departing at **09:05** directly to **Payerbach**.
If you arrive too late for the group ticket arrangement, please purchase your own ticket before boarding the train. For many participants, the **VOR Freizeit-Ticket** may be a good option.
We aim to catch the train departing **Payerbach at 16:57** back to Vienna.
**What to expect**
* We will walk together at a relaxed, social pace and stay as a group throughout the day.
* This is not a race or a performance hike. As long as you have the basic fitness required for this route, the focus is on shared experience, conversation, and enjoying the landscape at an unhurried pace.
* We will take regular short breaks whenever useful.
* We do not plan to stop at huts or restaurants during the hike, so please bring your own food and drinks (approximately **2 litres** of water recommended).
* Weather conditions can change quickly in the mountains, so basic rain protection is recommended.
* Please wear sturdy **hiking shoes**. Depending on recent weather, some sections may be muddy. **For safety reasons, I reserve the right to refuse participation on the day if footwear is not suitable for the conditions.**
* Please bring **sun protection** (hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses), especially on warm or sunny days.
* Toilet facilities are available on the train and in Payerbach before and after the hike.
**Important Note**
â ď¸ **Disclaimer:** As always, this is a free, private leisure activity. I am not a certified hiking guide, and participation is entirely at your own responsibility and risk.
I will send a weather update on **Thursday evening** to everyone who has registered.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Looking forward to sharing this hike with you!
JĂśrg
**\*The "Einfach-raus" Group Ticket**
We will use a group ticket, and it requires some coordination:
**How it works:**
It is one ticket for a group of 2â5 people.
We will form these groups at the meeting point at 08:30; please be on time if you want to participate.
You must travel together for both the departure and the return journey.
You cannot split off and take a different train home if you are on a group ticket.
**The cost:**
The more people in a group, the cheaper it gets.
Expect to pay between âŹ10 and âŹ19 per person.
To be fair, we can either pay by specific group size or pool all the money and split it equally.
**Cash is mandatory:**
Please bring physical cash and coins.
We need to collect the money before buying the tickets to make sure everyone gets their change back quickly.
**Information regarding this ticket:**
[https://www.oebb.at/en/tickets-kundenkarten/freizeit-urlaub/einfach-raus-ticket](https://www.oebb.at/en/tickets-kundenkarten/freizeit-urlaub/einfach-raus-ticket)
If you prefer not to be tied to a group, or if you arenât sure when you want to head back to Vienna, do not join the group ticket.
Instead, buy the VOR Freizeitticket; it costs âŹ19.90 for the day in Lower Austria.
This will also be your option if you arrive too late for the group ticket or one group doesn't have enough participants for a group ticket.

Weâll meet at the **West View Parking Lot** (check the map pin for the exact location) and head out on a **4.6-mile loop** that will take about **3 hours**. The hike kicks off with a good workout as we climb the steps to the mountainâs peak, where weâll pause to take in the stunning views, snap some photos, and catch our breath. From there, the trail becomes easier, leading us on a short hike to another scenic overlook before wrapping up.
After the hike, join us for a casual meetup at **Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard**. Feel free to bring your own food, as it looks like there's no food truck scheduled. Please remember that outside alcohol is not allowed, but the vineyard offers wine by the glass for purchase. After we park, we will hike about 7 miles to our campsite, diverting once to summit Mt Rogers. There arent any views here, but it's worth the .3 miles to say you've been to the highest point in VA! We will camp on the first night at the scenic tent sites near the Thomas Knob Shelter on the AT. There is water at this site and we may see wild ponies if we're lucky.

The second day is about 10.7 miles, which includes spectacular views, unique rock formations and wide open grassy meadows. We will camp near the Old Orchard Shelter. There is a spring with water at this site as well.

The third day will be a short 3.5 mile hike from camp back to the cars. Getting to the cars early will mean that we should get back to DC around 4-5pm. On the drive home, I plan to stop at Martin's in downtown Roanoke (413 1st St SW, Roanoke, VA 24011).

MO: Tour de Sods (~36 miles)
Time to go eat blueberries and such in Dolly Sods. I got Brightside's permission to plagiarize this entire trip, so we're going to run it the same as in recent years. The nature conservancy recently acquired the parcel of land just north of Dolly Sods as well which we can check out on Saturday if anyone is inclined to do some extra miles. This loop features some bushwhacking and lots of mud and rocks, and depending on recent rains the crossing of Red Creek can be very wet â make sure you're up for a tough hike!
We'll meet up at Vienna Metro North Kiss & Ride and drive to the Flatrock Run trailhead ([https://bit.ly/3D5Rvwj](https://bit.ly/3D5Rvwj)). We can run a quick shuttle to drop one car at Red Creek trailhead and avoid a 2 mile roadwalk. From the road we'll climb over 2000 vertical feet in 5 miles up Mt Porte Crayon, the fourth highest peak in the state. Be prepared to hike through stinging nettles, and make sure to fill your bottles at the last stream on the way up. Our campsite up on the plateau will be dry.
On Saturday morning we'll hike the entirety of the Canyon Rim Trail, which starts right at our campsite. This trail involves a bit of bushwhacking and talus scrambling, and it probably won't be on your map â occasional stone cairns mark the way. We'll walk along the Allegheny Front, taking in superb views of the valley below, and eventually come to the Dolly Sods Wilderness boundary. A brief gravel roadwalk along FR 19 will lead us to the Rohrbaugh Plains trail. From here we'll make our way north, past Rohrbaugh Cliffs and the confluence of Red Creek and then into the northern meadows of the Sods. At the northwest corner of the wilderness we'll turn south along the Rocky Ridge trail and look for a suitable campsite for the night.
On Sunday we'll hike down Big Stonecoal, take Dunkenbarger to Little Stonecoal, and walk along Red Creek back to the cars.
We'll try our best to get to Davis in time for breakfast at Milo's; but if that doesn't happen we'll grab lunch at Hellbender (which reopened yay!).
