We gather in festival worship with traditional liturgy, triumphant hymns, proclamation of the resurrection, and Holy Communion. Easter is not only a day of celebration, but the great turning point of the Christian story: light breaking into darkness, life overcoming death, hope rising where despair once stood. ### Why Easter Matters Easter proclaims the central confession of the Christian faith: **Jesus Christ is risen from the dead.** This is not only a memory of something long ago. It is the promise that God is still at work in the world — bringing life where there is death, healing where there is brokenness, and hope where there is fear. I can't have us celebrating Easter alone so let's get together at the Easter Brunch at Nest to have our own "family time". The Nest Brunch is always extensive and varied with vegan options. The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change.
