**Open Writing Circle** **Confessionals: Writing Through Shame and Fear of Being Seen by Djibril Sall** **[Free event with registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/writing-circle/w08-2026/)** For **LGBTQIA+** This writing workshop is an invitation to work with confession as a practice of release—something that you do for yourself and not under an authority. Together, we’ll use writing to move through shame and the fear of being seen, transforming what has been held tightly or silently into something you can shape, hold, and let go of. This is a space for experimentation, care, and risk, where confession becomes a tool for self-recognition rather than self-erasure. **Words and stories reside within all of us, waiting to be discovered.** Our monthly Open Writing Circle invites people with all levels of writing experience to explore their creativity and imagination. In each session, one of Berlin’s many exceptional writers, poets, artists, or curators will create a vibrant and collective learning experience. Whether you’re interested in fiction, memoir, non-fiction, or poetry, this supportive space encourages you to uncover the words within you. We’ll draw upon techniques used in writing workshops to unleash your innate talent in a collaborative environment that will allow for a dynamic exchange of ideas and insights. This workshop aims to create an affirming, playful and empowering space for queer people to explore, express and celebrate their identities as well as to provide a platform for the stories of the LGBTQIA+ community to be shared, heard and valued. **Biba Oskar Nass** (they/them), a trans boy and wordsmith, writes prose and poetry as a freelance artist. In their work, they address queer history and remembrance. Biba Oskar Nass is also a workshop host and co-publishes the queer literary magazine Transcodiert, among other texts. **General information** **Level**: No previous experience is necessary. **Language**: while the group is primarily conducted in English, you are welcome to write in any language you feel comfortable with.

We hope to see you there!* **\*\*Agreements & Terms of Service (Please read)\*\*** **Authentic Relating and Circling is not therapy**. People encounter states, emotions, beliefs, and sensations in themselves and others which can be difficult. We explore the unknown, the volatile, the ambiguous, as well as welcome emotions many deem as “negative” or “inappropriate” such as feelings of inadequacy, anger, sexuality, and joy. We refer to the willingness to feel difficult and uncomfortable truths as the “commitment to connection,” which of course includes a willingness to set appropriate boundaries, and speak a desire for space, distance, and non-contact. By attending our events you take responsibility for your level of participation, which might include choosing to leave. If all this sounds potentially overwhelming or destabilizing for you, if you have mental illness or significant emotional challenges that you feel may be exacerbated by this type of transformational environment, or if you are not sure that you can be self-directed in taking care of your needs during the event, then we advise you not to attend. We look forward to seeing you!

Poetry in the Park – International Day of Poetry 🌹📖 – Social Butterfly Club 🦋
On the International Day of Poetry, we’re meeting in the Rosengarten at Bürgerpark Pankow to write and share poetry together — in a simple, grounded way. No stage. No microphone. No pressure. Bring: * A poem you love * A journal + pen We’ll sit on the benches, take time to write, and then gather in a standing circle to share — if we’d like to. I’ll guide us through a few short writing prompts and we’ll do 2–3 rounds, depending on the group’s energy. The focus is on presence, listening, and creative expression — not perfection. Dress warmly — March can still be crisp. Duration: approx. 75–90 minutes. Afterwards, whoever wants can join for tea or coffee nearby. Orga This meetup is donation based. Kevin Rhodus from Lucy Deep Park Northside is coming to talk to us about his extensive neighborhood Christmas light display that is open in November and December every year north of Dublin. 9 houses over 12 acres and over 120,000 individual controlled lights that sync to music which you can tune into on your radio! Quite impressive! https://ldplights.com/ We'll dive into the tech that runs the show -- should be a blast to hear about this very elaborate display! While we continue to pursue a more permanent venue for this Meetup, we’ll be using public library facilities based on availability. This session will be at the Dublin Library in the Meeting Room 2
