Join us for a practical acting workshop that delves into scene analysis and character exploration. Many actors rush to performance — but skipping scene analysis and proper character work can mean missing the heart of a scene. In this session, we will explore the essential (and often overlooked) step of breaking down a scene, then getting on your feet and going through a series of exercises. You will then apply what you've learned - bringing the scene to life through performance which can be taped on the phone in class. A scene will be sent a day in advance. Through practical tools, and guided exercises, we’ll help you uncover what drives each character, different ways to deliver the scene and how thoughtful analysis leads to truthful, compelling choices. Whether you’re an actor, writer, or director, this workshop will give you a deeper understanding of story, sharpen your interpretive skills, and elevate your creative work.

A fun and hands on introduction to LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®, ideal for those who have not experienced the method before. After being welcomed by our experienced facilitator Sean Blair, you will explore building models as an individual and as a group. You will become practiced at several methods of communication and learn to hear and understand others, all using LEGO! A Rabble session is 1 hour of fun and social team games. Each game disguises high-intensity intervals within the rules, giving you an effective, all-body workout without even realising it. We play a bunch of different games at each session (like British Bulldog, Capture the Flag, Dodgeball, Frisbee and many more), and every class is different. Sessions are open to all, no matter your sporting ability. Each game is explained before we start, so there's no need to have played any of the games before. Come solo or bring friends! The topic for June is "Roadtrip" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
