Lost & Found — A Picnic Philosophy Talk
Lost & Found — A Picnic Philosophy Talk
☕ CafĂ© Philo Paris — English Edition A philosophical discussion space open to everyone — no prerequisites, no judgment, no dogma. Each session explores a different theme through concrete questions that touch our lives, our beliefs, and our relationship with the world. This is neither a lecture nor a class: we meet, we think out loud together, and each person freely shares their experience and perspective. ✅ Format * Intimate circle discussion — everyone speaks freely * Open exchange in a climate of listening and respect * Duration: approximately 2 hours * 12 people maximum per session to preserve the quality of exchanges đŸŽŸïž Participation: €5 — Registration secures your spot and helps maintain a welcoming and respectful atmosphere. From time to time, special editions are organised — different formats, different settings, sometimes free. This picnic session is one of them. 🌿 Special Edition — Picnic in the Park Instead of a cafĂ©, we're taking the conversation outside. Bring something to share, sit on the grass, and let's talk about life under the open sky. đŸŽ™ïž Topic : "Do we really need to know where we're going?" To get you thinking before we meet : * Is feeling lost a failure — or the beginning of something real? * Do you actually know what you want, or do you just know what you're supposed to want? * Have you ever chosen a path just to stop people from asking questions? * If nobody expected anything from you, what would you do with your life? * Are you building the life you want, or the life that makes sense to others? * Do you trust yourself enough to not know — and keep going anyway? * 7 spots only * Free entry — just bring food or drinks to share * 7th arrondissement, Paris — exact location shared once registered * đŸ“© To join this session, contact Josh directly on WhatsApp : 👉 [https://wa.me/33649853900](https://wa.me/33649853900) Send the message "picnic paris" and he'll send you all the details. đŸ“Č Want to stay updated on future sessions? Pour voir les dĂ©tails pratiques et logistiques de cette sorties* : [c'est ici ](https://forms.gle/Go6Gppi3pdREP81j6) \-\-\-\- **Let the return of the gentle weather be an opportunity to reconnect to the wonderment that the forest offers.** During a forest bathing outing, we alternate between silent introspective moments, and joyful shared practices, so as to find relaxation and cheer. For more information about my forest bathing approach, the information can be found on my website: [https://laurabrav.fr/bains-de-foret](https://laurabrav.fr/bains-de-foret) The starting point of this outing is Bois-le-Roi station at 11am (or Gare de Lyon at 9.50am to catch the 10.05am R train), returning to Paris by the 6pm train (arrives at Gare de Lyon at 6.45) ***Times may vary depending on the weather*** **Tarif** : by "conscious donation" *(the amount which is a balance for me would be an average of 35€ per participant, but the most important thing is that everyone who is interested is able to come!)* *NB : I don't use Meetup as the signup tool. Deep Talk / Snacks PicNic In English ☀
Deep Talk / Snacks PicNic In English ☀
đŸ©đŸ° Let's have a weekly deep talk in an intimate Parisian cafĂ©, share a drink and have a good time with like-minded, lovely and chill people. đŸ„‚â˜• We're here to sip life in a childish, simple and non-serious way. 🙃 When was the last time you had a meaningful conversation? Or deepened your relationship with someone in your life? It's not easy to have a deep conversation. While small talk, which is typically casual and light-hearted, can help break the ice, it may not necessarily help you form a deep, emotional connection with someone. Whether it's with your friends, family, colleagues or romantic partners, having meaningful conversations is important for creating strong bonds. "Meaningful conversations help us understand ourselves and those around us better. They involve sharing important aspects of ourselves and actively listening, validating and connecting with others." We believe that a happy and healthy life is built on beautiful relationships and that loneliness kills us. That's it. It's not the number of friends that counts, it's the quality of the relationship. ✅ This group is adressed to : ● People who want to build deep, genuine and caring relationships in a small group that looks the same, where they feel comfortable and emotionally safe to talk emotionally and get intimate about anything in their lives. ● Simple, loving, kind, hyper/sensitive and lovely people who spend a lot of time in their bubble thinking about the meaning of life, passionate about personal development, philosophy, meaningful conversations, debates .... ⛔ Please don't subscribe if : ● You don't see yourself in the group's aims and beliefs. ● You're travelling for a short period of time and don't live or intend to live in Paris. ● You are not sure if you will be able to come, please update your status to allow others on the waiting list to join. An absence without notice will result in an irrevocable ban. Progress : ● ❗ For reservations, I'll send you a private Meetup message at least 5 hours before the meeting to confirm your reservation. If I don't receive a reply 2 hours before the meeting, I will send you a second message to let you know that you will be replaced by someone on the waitlist. ● 💚 We keep the session small, cosy and relaxed in a quiet place, prioritising regularity to encourage intimacy, connection, listening and speaking. (\~ 5/6 people) ● 🔖 On arrival, if you feel comfortable, you will be suggested to choose and associate several drawn Feelings and Needs cards to express how you really feel at the moment, to talk about ourselves and communicate effectively. ● 📝 The best way to make progress is to make the conversation easy and natural, with everyone making an effort to suggest and write down what you want to talk about. You can write down your favourite topics/questions before the meeting. The meeting is participative and invite everyone if you feel comfortable being a leader and a power of suggestion. Anyway, to keep the meeting running smoothly, I'll animate the meeting to make sure the conversation doesn't get wild or boring and I wouldn't hesitate to reframe people. In case of lack of inspiration we have a lot of deep conversation question card game which can help to find interesting questions. ● 🍕 (Not compulsory) After the meeting we can finish in a nearby restaurant for those who wish to relax or continue our conversation. Advice for a good moment : ● Leave your ego and mask at home, we are not here to impress anyone but to be ourselves with our strength, weakness, pride and shame. Come with an open/deep/emotional/complex thought and vulnerability. ● Ask open-ended questions and invite the other person to describe what a situation was like for them or how they felt. ● Don't hesitate to be vulnerable and share information about yourself if needed. Consider sharing personal information first to gain the other person's trust. ● Adopt an attitude of curiosity and genuine interest in what the other person is saying. Be thoughtful and try to put yourself in the other person's shoes so that you can see things from their perspective. Be truthful, caring and honest. ● Listen actively and ask follow-up questions. ● Be empathetic and offer emotional validation so that they feel seen and heard. It is forbidden to judge, but try to understand. ● ⏱ Be aware of your speaking time for Equally Speak. ● đŸ€« Be aware never to provoke political or religious ideologies, but to accept differences of belief. Advice on non-violent communication can be given in the meeting to learn not to unintentionally hurt anyone when requested or needed. ● 🚹 Remember to maintain a safe, and benevolent environment. People who are considered to be disruptive, problematic or simply not in tune with the energy of the group will not be allowed to return. Finally, we're hug-friendly !!! đŸ€—
Full Moon Picnic Sat May 30, 8:30-10:30 PM, Pont des Arts
Full Moon Picnic Sat May 30, 8:30-10:30 PM, Pont des Arts
**Ahoy there,** Next full moon picnic will be Saturday May 30 from 8:30 - 10:30 P.M. Moonrise will be around 10:10 P.M. Sunset around 9:40 PM. I may not make it back from my tree house in time but never fear, Catherine and Charles will be there to welcome you. The Pont des Arts is undergoing renovations for the botched renovation 3 years ago that used a poor design to fasten the wood planks. Most of the bridge will remain open full width during the work. We will meet by one of the benches in the open section, which is currently towards the Left Bank side of the bridge. Hard to predict how work will advance over the next week. So finding us may involve a little bit of treasure hunt adventure. You’re welcome! In the unlikely event we will assemble below on the quai on the Right Bank side. May is known by American Indians for the Full Flower Moon because of the wide appearance of flowers during this month. It's also known as Full Corn Planting Moon (for obvious reasons) and as the Milk Moon. Bob, I swear you're just copy pasting that from your last email for our previous Full Moon Picnic. Yes, that’s because this is the second full moon of the same month, which only happens once in a blue moon. đŸ€Ł **WHAT**: Everyone brings food and drink to share. **WHERE**: Pont des Arts. We'll gather around the 2nd or 3rd bench from the Right Bank side of the bridge. Nearest metros: Pont Neuf and Louvre-Rivoli. **WHEN**: Saturday May 30 from 8:30-10:30 P.M. **WHY**: Share one of the most memorable sights in Paris with some of the nicest people around. **WHO**: You and your friends. **THEME**: Blue **BIRTHDAYS**: Are you’re a Gemini? Bring a cake and let me know so we can celebrate your birthday this month and blow out the world’s largest birthday candle. **HOW** to find us: Keep your eyes out for a bunch of lunatics eating, drinking an chatting in English and French. **PUZZLER**: Raise your hand if you’re vegetarian. Vegan? Beegan?(vegan + honey. I know.) Flexitarian?(occasional meat). Vegan before 6 PM?(yes that’s actually a thing.) Forget about Omnivore. Forget about Carnivore. How about Cannibal? How about Sausage eating Cannibal? Why are you cringing? You're the product of a Sausage eating Cannibal. Don’t try to puzzle this out. Just go ahead and scroll to the answer before your stomach turns queasy. **PUZZLER ANSWER**: Our galaxy, the Milky Way has become quite large feasting on other smaller galaxies. About 8 billion years ago, a study said, that a smaller dwarf galaxy was gobbled up by a young and hungry Milky Way. The study was not 8 billion years ago (that’s why the 2 commas) but 8 years ago. The dwarf galaxy was named Gaia Sausage because it was sorta kinda in the shape of a sausage according to the astronomers analyzing the data. They had been up for 2 days without eating and were definitely not vegan. [https://www.cmu.edu/news/stories/archives/2018/july/gaia-sausage.html](https://www.cmu.edu/news/stories/archives/2018/july/gaia-sausage.html) Turns out that just this month, the Milky Way gobbled up another galaxy, according to a study, 10 billion years ago. (I’m using commas the way Trump uses legal loopholes.) The poor meal this time is called the Loki galaxy, named after the Norse god of mischief. The remnants of this dwarf galaxy are hard to detect and tricky to explain because the left over stars are moving in opposite directions. Confusing and mischievous. [https://edition.cnn.com/2026/05/23/science/milky-way-loki-galaxy](https://edition.cnn.com/2026/05/23/science/milky-way-loki-galaxy) In this eat or be eaten universe galaxies are cannibalizing each other. So far the Milky Way has eaten its way to an expanding belt-line. Ciao for niao, **Captain Bob**

CafĂ© Philo Paris – Peut-on vraiment ĂȘtre en paix ?
CafĂ© Philo Paris – Peut-on vraiment ĂȘtre en paix ?
Sunday badminton - 12pm Intermediate/Advanced
Sunday badminton - 12pm Intermediate/Advanced
Hi Badminton Fans! Come and join us every Sunday for a fun session of badminton. There are usually 2 sessions to choose from. **This session is open to intermediate level players and above ONLY.** What that means is that you should be comfortable with short serves to the T, doubles rotations, and smashes. There is also an 11 am Open Session for players of all abilities. If you're unsure of your level, sign up for the 11am session to start or ask us! We will try our utmost to ensure that you play with people of similar levels. As such, we can and will restrict participation at this 12pm session at our discretion. **What Do You Need** Don't worry about equipment; racquets and shuttlecocks are provided, and there's no need for a badminton license or insurance. Just bring your indoor sports shoes, and a willingness to meet new friends and have lots of fun. There are changing rooms and showers. **Get There Early** Try and get there early to change and get warmed up so that we can start right on time. The courts are normally not being used before we play, so we can get a little extra time playing. **Registration & Payments** Registration is 14€ per person, and you can sign up via PayPal through this event page. For alternative payments, check for available slots on the event page first. Then, submit your payment via https://revolut.me/jonathwu3q with a description of which event you are signing up for and send the screenshot to one of us so that we can add you. *Please Note: If your name is **not** in the attendees list and you do not have confirmation from us, you will be turned away.* **Annual Membership Option** For regular players, there is the option to take out an annual membership. This costs 80€ for the first year and is renewable each year for 40€. This reduces the weekly registration fee to only 10€ per session. **No Refunds** In the case of a cancellation or no-show, there are no refunds. See you all on the court on Sunday. Happy badminton-ing! Kelvin (0603250357) and Vijay (0767341832) **FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS** 1. I don’t speak French, can I join? * Yes! We are an international group and everyone speaks English! 2. Are there still available slots? I can’t sign up! Help! * Check the bottom of the event page for availabilities. Once full, RSVPs will be closed. Sign up as early as possible because the events fill up very quickly. 3. I signed up, but I can’t make it! Can I get a refund? * No refunds for cancellations or no-shows. If you inform us early enough, we can try to find a substitute and refund you, but no guarantees. 4. Why can’t I get a refund? * We need a fixed number of participants to maximize court usage, court fees, team arrangements, and team rotations. Cancelations throw all of this off. 5. Do I need to bring anything? Water? Racquets? Birdies? * If you have your own racquet, that will be best! Otherwise, we have spare ones and we provide the shuttlecocks. Bring enough water to hydrate yourself.

There are usually 2 sessions to choose from, **This 11 am - Open Session is open to players of all levels.** **If you are a complete beginner -** Talk to us first before signing up, and we can try to make accommodations and maybe have beginners-only court to begin with, with one of the organisers ready to explain all of the basics, such as serving, scoring, rules etc, as well as some pointers to help you progress. **Which Session To Choose** If you're unsure of your level, sign up for the 11am session to start, or ask us! We will try our utmost to ensure that you play with people of similar levels. Then, submit your payment via https://revolut.me/jonathwu3q with a description of which event you are signing up for, and send the screenshot to one of us so that we can add you. Kelvin (0603250357) and Vijay (0767341832), **FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS** 1.
