๐๐ฆ DANFORTH BURGER & ICE CREAM WALK! ๐ฆ๐
A Summer Evening Stroll, One of Toronto's Most Underrated Burgers & Giant Ice Cream Scoops
Sometimes the best events are the simplest ones.
Join us for a relaxed summer evening walk along the Danforth as we make our way from Main Street Station to Broadview Station,
enjoying one of Toronto's most vibrant neighbourhoods along the way.
This isn't about rushing from place to place. It's about getting outside, enjoying the evening, meeting new people, and sharing a couple of local favourites that many Torontonians still haven't discovered.
Our first stop will be Square Boy, a true Danforth institution that serves some of the most underrated burgers in Toronto. No fancy gimmicks. No social media hype. Just great burgers that locals have loved for decades. ๐ They are soo goo that they ONLY TAKE CASH!
After we've eaten, we'll walk across the street to Kawartha Dairy for dessert. If you've never been before, prepare yourself.
The scoops are legendary.
Seriously.
Most first-time visitors cannot believe how much ice cream they give you. ๐ฆ๐
Afterward, we'll continue our walk west along the Danforth toward Broadview Station, enjoying the neighbourhood, conversation, and hopefully a beautiful summer evening.

๐ Enjoy good conversation and meet new people

You are welcome to leave at any time.

This event will happen in most summer weather conditions.
If there is severe weather, heavy thunderstorms, or conditions that would make the walk unsafe, the event may be cancelled.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring water if it's a hot evening.

Creator Collaboration Night ๐ฅ๐
The best content often starts with one simple question:
**"What should we make today?"**
This meetup is all about bringing creators together to brainstorm ideas, discover viral trends, and turn them into content.
Whether you're creating for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or Facebook, you'll meet people who are excited to collaborate, experiment, and help each other grow.
During the meetup we'll:
๐ก Brainstorm new content ideas together
๐ฑ Find trending and viral videos that we can recreate with our own creative twist
๐ฌ Plan social media videos to film together
๐ค Meet creators looking for long-term collaborators
๐ธ Film content whenever possible during the meetup
๐ Encourage each other to post consistently and grow together
๐ญ Share feedback, improve ideas, and inspire one another
Creating content alone can be difficult. Sometimes the hardest part isn't filmingโit's simply coming up with the next idea.
This meetup gives you a room full of creative people to bounce ideas off, spot trending content, and find videos that can be recreated in fun, original ways.
No expensive equipment is required. A phone is more than enough to get started.
Whether you're making your very first video or you've been creating content for years, everyone is welcome.
Bring your ideasโor come with none at all.
We'll come up with something together. ๐ฌโจ

๐ Fall Walk: Rouge National Urban Park and Picnic๐ณ
๐ **Fall Walk: Rouge National Urban Park** ๐ณ
is Canada's only Urban Park and is one of our most popular hikes that we do as it's really the only hiking trail in Toronto that you can get to by TTC. Once you are on the trail you will not believe that you are still in the City. Not only will we be walking up and hills but I will take you to one of the best lookout points in the Valley. You don't want to miss an afternoon of hiking.
This trail can be a bit challenging (with some ups and downs), so it may not be the best choice for beginners. But if youโre up for it, youโll feel proud of yourself at the end โ and youโll have shared the experience with a great group of people.
After the hike, weโll enjoy a **group picnic** (30โ40 mins). Please bring something small to share โ nothing too big so itโs easy to carry! ๐ฅช๐

Cannabis & Yoga - High in High Park
Join me for an afternoon of movement, breath, nature, community, and **cannabis.**
No experience with yoga or cannabis is needed. This class is beginner-friendly, non-competitive, and open to all bodies and experience levels. Youโre invited to move in whatever way feels good for you, flowing through every pose or simply resting on your mat and soaking it all in.
Cannabis can support relaxation, creativity, embodiment, presence, and connection. Everyoneโs experience is different, and part of the practice is getting curious about what unfolds for you.
Weโll begin by gathering, smoking or vaping (optional), and settling into the space before moving into our practice under the trees. If you prefer edibles, please take them about an hour before class so they have time to kick in.
This class is by donation. Most people contribute between $5โ35. Cash or e-transfer accepted.
### Please bring:
* Your cannabis
* Yoga mat (optional, the grass is lovely)
* Water
* Warm/weather-appropriate layers
* Optional snack to share afterward
We practice rain or shine.
Hi, Iโm Nici from [Breathing in Nature](https://www.breathinginnature.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com). Iโve been teaching cannabis-enhanced yoga for over a decade and love creating welcoming spaces where people can slow down, connect, and explore movement and medicines in a different way.

The Completely Series
These meetings will be a building block approach to learning photographic mastery over three disciplines:
Completely Mechanical (CM) - A 13-week series
Completely Exposed (CE) - A 26-week series
Completely Composed (CC) - A 52-week series
All three series will run concurrently and will dovetail as follows:
Q3/26 - CM (Iter 1), CE (Iter 1, Pt 1), CC (Iter 1, Pt1)
Q4/26 - CM (Iter 2), CE (Iter 1, Pt 2), CC (Iter 1, Pt2)
Q1/27 - CM (Iter 3), CE (Iter 2, Pt 1), CC (Iter 1, Pt3)
Q2/27 - CM (Iter 4), CE (Iter 2, Pt 2), CC (Iter 1, Pt4)
That's likely confusing, but essentially, CM offered 4 times in that period, CE offered 2 times, and CC offered 1 time.
**TO BE CLEAR - THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THESE CLASSES.**
This is an aggressive series, with presentations, homework, group shoots to be added in, likely at LEAST twice a month, image critiques, and an expectation that you are willing to put in the work to elevate your photography significantly. Open to all levels and all equipment levels. Don't let hesitation about your skillset and/or gear keep you from a one-time opportunity.
The group will meet every Tuesday, with periodic exceptions, and we will try to keep as close as possible to the original plan. Obviously, more data is coming and will be published as this is further developed, but now is the time to decide if you want to be a part of this.
Directing and Lighting Your Shoot
**Donโt miss your opportunity to learn from a duo with over 16 years of experience combined. During this demonstration event, you can expect to learn how to direct and guide your creative vision through lighting and communication to your model. We guarantee you will leave this event feeling more confident to try new lighting set ups to match up with your anticipated outcome. Finding the right way to express your vision is key to getting your model to pose accordingly, so we got you there too! To take this even further, think about signing up for a tutorial spot following the demonstration.**
***Note: this is a demonstration event only, you will not shoot your own images. However, if you bring your camera we can test it for compatibility with the studio lights.***
**Following the demonstration will be a tutorial/coaching event - sign up separately if you are interested at**
https://calendar.app.google/ZcHb4CQB2rrV3U7j9
**Save and book both for $199 (discounted from $215; the discount will be applied on the Tutorial invoice).**
Monthly General Meeting
This will be our regular monthly meeting, with a new topic picked each month. Topics to be determined and posted soon.
IxDA Chat n Pancakes
You can sleep in on the Sesquicentennial (observed), weโre shifting to the following Friday.
But join the local UX community for a chat and some biscuits to catch up. If you were in CA for Figma Config, tell us all the lines and you can tell me how I can animate an SVG without coding it by hand, and why Iโd even want to.

Stop Guessing: How to Measure and Improve LLM Outputs
Most people use LLMs by feel: ask a question, read the answer, decide whether it โseems good,โ and move on.
That works for casual use. It does not work when you are building software, automating workflows, writing important documents, or relying on AI for anything that needs to be repeatable.
In this talk, weโll look at how to improve and evaluate the inputs and outputs of LLMs using practical measurement techniques. Weโll cover how prompt changes affect results, how to compare outputs, how to build simple evaluation sets, and how math-based methods like similarity scoring can help you move beyond guesswork.
This will be beginner-friendly, so even if you don't know anything about AI, you should get something out of it. However, this will be a little more technical than our intro talks. You do not need to be an AI researcher, but programmers and technically curious attendees will get a lot out of it.
Weโll cover:
* Why โit looks goodโ is not enough
* How to improve prompts by changing the input, context, and constraints
* How to compare LLM outputs more systematically
* Basic evaluation techniques for accuracy, consistency, and usefulness
* How embeddings, cosine similarity, and scoring can help evaluate results
* Where automated evaluation works โ and where humans still need to stay in the loop
By the end, youโll have a practical mental model for treating LLMs less like magic and more like systems you can test, measure, and improve.
LOGISTICS AND PARKING:
The talk starts at 7:00 PM. The first half hour is reserved for everyone to get set up and mingle. Free pizza and drinks!
The cheapest parking option is to find street parking, which will only cost you a few bucks. Otherwise, park in the nearby veteran's museum lot for $8. It's highly recommended you avoid the nearby $15 garage parking.
