FREE Spanish, English, and French Oral Conversational Class 4 Adults
\*These classes are not a language exchange, but instead are meant to be a step in between so that students feel confident maintaining in depth and grammatically correct oral conversations outside of class\* \***Meetup event numbers only tend to show new students registering and do not include returning students attending class.** **Per class, there is an average of 7 students.** The first 2 classes are free and then only cost between $15 and $35 depending on which type of class you want to continue with\* These French, English (For Spanish and French speakers only), and Spanish classes are primarily meant for adults who are travellers, or who are planning to live in a French, English, or Spanish-speaking country. The classes are primarily oral-based through guided conversations. They will teach you how to handle conversations in situations such as **"Going to the Convenience Store"**, **"Making Plans"**, **"Negotiating Prices"**, and **"Going out for a Drink"**. To ensure that students get used to using the language automatically, students will learn to maintain contextual conversations with timing before moving on to the next lesson. Beginner's Swimming Workshop
Dive into the world of swimming with our exciting meetup group! Join us for a beginner-friendly workshop as we cover essential skills and techniques to feel confident swimming. Our experienced instructors will provide tips on breathing, sighting, and navigation to help you conquer any body of water. Whether you're new to swimming or looking to brush up on your skills, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to enhance your abilities in a supportive and encouraging environment. Don't miss out on this chance to explore the excitement of swimming with our welcoming community of swimmers. Admission includes a 1 hour swimming lesson, group or individual, depending on your comfort level and ability. All lessons will begin at the start of each hour (i.e. 6 pm, 7 pm, 8 pm). You are encouraged to arrive 10-15 minutes early to get acquainted, as well as change & set up. This is a BYOE workshop (Bring Your Own Equipment), so bathing suits, bathing caps, goggles, and ear/nose plugs are your responsibility. All other equipment, such as floatation devices, are available on site. I will be on site to guide you through the process and answer any questions you might have, as well as collect admission fees. You are welcome to hang back after your lesson to observe (a large viewing gallery above the pool is available, however please be respectful of participants & instructors that are in session). This is a public pool facility, so please follow all safety protocols (i.e. no running on deck) With that in mind, I look forward to seeing you all out there and ready to have a blast in the pool.

Our small, intimate workshop with professional instructors is designed to cater to your interests. Throughout the workshop, we will discuss the specific lighting setups for each scenario, explaining the choice of modifiers and angles to effectively illuminate the subject and accessories. We will have an extensive selection of Elinchrom flashes and rotolux modifiers for the workshop **Framing:** During the workshop, we will focus on various framing techniques, including: * Tight beauty lighting (makeup, head, and shoulders) * Full body shots **Instructor:** Phil Sutherland- Elinchrom Ambassador **MUA Lily - we will be doing some dramatic eye make up over the metallic makeup** **Model:** The exceptionally talented Kallopsia. Join us Sunday, March 1st for a moonrise photography session at Wards Island. We will meet at the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal at 3:30 PM sharp to catch the 3:30 ferry to Wards Island. Please do not be late, as we must board together. The moon is scheduled to rise at approximately 4:13 PM, and we will position ourselves at an east-facing spot near Wards Island beach (away from the main beach area) to prepare for a moonrise timelapse. Plan: – Meet at 3:30 PM at the ferry terminal – Take the 3:30 ferry to Wards Island – Walk to our east-facing location – Set up cameras and tripods – Capture moonrise timelapse and still images Tripods are highly recommended for timelapse. If you don’t have a tripod, you are still welcome to join and capture handheld moon shots. This event is weather dependent and will proceed only if skies are clear or partially cloudy. If conditions are fully overcast, the event will be cancelled. Important: – Dress appropriately for the weather – There is no shelter at our shooting location – Expect wind exposure near the shoreline – Bring fully charged batteries This is a collaborative, non-commercial event. **No selling or service promotion permitted**. Do you aspire to learn the secrets of beautiful and creative lighting techniques? We are dedicated to lighting and sharing our photographic knowledge with you. Our small, intimate workshop with professional instructors is designed to cater to your interests. Throughout the workshop, we will discuss the specific lighting setups for each scenario, explaining the choice of modifiers and angles to effectively illuminate the subject and accessories. The Photoshop Bootcamp workshop is a hands-on workshop, and example files and materials are made available to each participant. Each participant is required to have a computer available for use throughout the workshop. That computer must be adequately configured to run the latest version of Photoshop available in Adobe's Creative Cloud software suite (as of the time of this document, that version is Photoshop 2025 (Version 26.9.0)). Photoshop should be installed and operational before the commencement of the workshop. GENERAL WORKSHOP NOTES: There is a fee of $400 per person associated with this workshop. For scheduling purposes, on Meetup.com, the workshop is broken up into two (2) sessions.
