Frosty Feb Winter Social
Frosty Feb Winter Social
**Please note the only way to register for this adventure is on [our website.](https://www.wildernessunion.com/adventures/frosty-feb-social)** **February in Toronto is a real test of character (and Amazon Basics outerwear), so let’s get through it together!** Whether you’ve been hibernating since December or hitting the winter trails each week- aka walking down a Toronto sidewalk- it’s time to come in from the cold and embrace the warmth of our first social of 2026! This is the perfect chance to reconnect with old friends from past adventures and meet some new faces in our community. We’re taking over a private room at the Duke of York Pub in Yorkville to play games, share stories, plan outings, and enjoy some great company. * **The Goods:** Plenty of pub fare and a full range of drinks, including a great selection of non-alcoholic options. Veggie/vegan dishes will also be on offer! * **The Games**: We’ll have some totally optional card and facilitated games going * **The Logistics:** There is **a small $5 fee** to cover the venue’s cover charge and secure our space. ***Don't let the winter win - come hang out, get warm and meet the crew!*** **Event cost: $5+HST. Register [here.](https://www.wildernessunion.com/adventures/frosty-feb-social)** **About Wilderness Union** Wilderness Union is deliberate about building an outdoors community that connects you to the life-changing magic of the outdoors and helps you find your people. Members range from 20-40 years old. The group is a mix of GTA locals and newcomers to Toronto from within Canada and abroad. Attendance numbers on Meetup don't reflect our actual event attendance - we typically have 15-20 community members at each event. Large enough that there's someone new to meet but small enough that it's not overwhelming! ***Learn more at our website [www.wildernessunion.com](https://www.wildernessunion.com/)***

a11yTO February social, reflecting on accessibility in 2025
We are kicking off **2026** with a relaxed, in person **a11yTO** social focused on connection, reflection, and conversation. This is a casual evening with no formal presentation and no slides. The goal is simply to bring the community together, reconnect with familiar faces, meet new people, and share experiences from the past year. As part of the evening, we will offer optional mini lightning prompts for anyone who would like to participate. These are short, three minute reflections focused on looking back at 2025. You might share one accessibility win from last year that truly made a difference, or one thing that did not work and what it taught you. Listening is just as welcome as sharing, and there is no need to prepare anything in advance. Whether you are new to accessibility or have been working in the space for years, everyone is welcome. ❄️🌿 St. Clair West to Yorkdale: A Winter Ravine-to-City Walk 🌿❄️
❄️🌿 St. Clair West to Yorkdale: A Winter Ravine-to-City Walk 🌿❄️
❄️🌿 **St. Clair West to Yorkdale: A Winter Ravine-to-City Walk** 🌿❄️ **An easy, scenic winter walk you don’t want to miss** This is one of those walks that reminds you why Toronto is such a fascinating city — where nature, neighbourhoods, and everyday life all blend together. Join us for a **beautiful 90-minute winter walk** that takes us from leafy ravines to one of Toronto’s most iconic malls, all at a relaxed and social pace. ✨ We’ll start at **St. Clair West Subway Station** and head into the peaceful **Cedarvale Ravine Trail**, one of the city’s hidden winter gems. Snow-dusted paths, quiet trees, and fresh air make this the perfect way to enjoy winter without feeling overwhelmed by it. ❄️🌲 From there, we’ll continue along a trail that runs beside **Allen Road**, offering a surprisingly calm walk through the city’s infrastructure and green spaces. We’ll pass through **Wenderly Park**, a small but lovely park that connects communities, before making our way through the **Allen Centre**, a charming local mall that feels like a little pause in time. 🏙️☕ One of the highlights of this walk is moving through the **Lawrence Heights community**, an area with a rich and important history in Toronto. As we walk, you’ll get a sense of how the city has evolved — from postwar housing development to one of Toronto’s most talked-about neighbourhood revitalizations. It’s a walk that quietly tells a story, without ever feeling like a lecture. 💛 We’ll end our journey at **Yorkdale Mall**, where warmth, food, and good company await. Depending on time and group size, we’ll either sit down together at **The Cheesecake Factory** or keep things casual with lunch in the food court — either way, it’s a perfect, cozy finish after a winter walk. 🍽️❄️ This walk is **easy, social, and totally manageable in winter**, making it a great way to get outside, move your body, and actually connect with people — without rushing or pushing yourself too hard. 📱 **Don’t forget to join our WhatsApp group** – [CLICK HERE!](https://chat.whatsapp.com/H59mSCbsAi018gYANrKAnc?mode=ac_t) \*\*\* \#\#\# ❄️ Meetup Details ❄️ ⚠️ **Please Note:** This is a true winter walk. How to Take Control of YOUR Mental Health
How to Take Control of YOUR Mental Health
It’s time to take control of your mental health. How do you get rid of stress, anxiety and uncertainty? These emotions are buried deep in your reactive mind. Find out what the reactive mind is, and in the process find yourself. Here is the secret of being positive and free: Thinking positively is not enough. You also have to get rid of the negative thinking. Your mind is like a garden. You can plant many beautiful flowers in it, but if you don't get rid of the weeds when you plant your flowers, the weeds will soon take over the whole garden. A positive thought is like a flower in your mental garden, and a negative thought is like a weed. You cannot expect to have a positive mindset if you continue to have negative thoughts dwelling and growing there. So, how do you get rid of the negative thoughts? That's what this Meetup is all about. Attend this local meeting and find out! The Meetup event will be led by a consultant who had helped many people live happier in life. Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there. This group is created by the Dianetics & Scientology life improvement center.

Free in-person event: Take Control of Your Mental Health
It’s time to take control of your mental health. How do you get rid of stress, anxiety and uncertainty? These emotions are buried deep in your reactive mind. Find out what the reactive mind is, and in the process find yourself. Have you ever suffered from a traumatic experience, a deep loss or been through a painful breakup? Has your ability to communicate suffered as a result? And after that, even though you "moved on" did you find that things were never quite the same? Have you ever looked at childhood photos, or reminisced your early life and wondered where that happiness and spark went? Are your emotions out of your own control? Have you ever felt, even if you aren’t aware of it, that possibly you are getting in your own way of your happiness and success? How does this affect your self-confidence? Find out what is at the root of all stress, anxiety, depression and self-doubt. Find out how and why you hold yourself back from achieving your goals and having the life you have dreamed of. As soon as you learn what is at the root of these unwanted conditions, you’ll see it is something you can DO something about. You will not be labeled or categorized at this MeetUp.
Humanist Community Celebrating Darwin Day
Humanist Community Celebrating Darwin Day
Dale Gnidovec, Curator of the Orton Hall Museum of Geology at The Ohio State University, will be presenting a program he has wanted to share with us for a long time: Plate Tectonics. His description of his program: Continents on the move - Nothing in Earth history makes sense without moving continents - it tells us why mountains, volcanoes, minerals, and fossils are where they are. This talk examines the evidence for continental drift, why it was disbelieved, and explains how the more-encompassing theory of plate tectonics was developed and eventually proven. Dale is an energetic, incredibly knowledgeable, and very entertaining speaker and this will be another wonderful program by Dale. Hope to see you there! Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk. Going forward our meetings will be hybrid.
