Stewards for Good: Women Shaping Technology for Public Good
Stewards for Good: Women Shaping Technology for Public Good
**Register at the Luma Page**: https://luma.com/gh9ysbg8 In the spirit of this year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain,” OGP invites our closest community of civic builders and partners to reflect on this together. Give to Gain emphasizes the power of reciprocity and collaboration. When people, organisations, and communities contribute knowledge, mentorship, visibility, and opportunities, we collectively expand pathways for women to participate and lead. This learning circle is part of OGP’s Stewards for Good programme, which supports communities building technology for public good and expands pathways for civic participation. The session is jointly presented with our steward, Women Devs SG. It reflects OGP’s broader mission to create more inclusive models of citizen participation, ensuring that diverse voices are involved not only in public policy discussions, but also in designing the technologies that power public good. ### **Human Library Learning Circles** To deepen the conversation, OGP and WDS will host Human Library-style learning circles, where women leaders and civic builders share their insights and lived experiences on how they: * build technology for public good * participate in civic innovation * shape inclusive digital systems ✨ **About Open Government Products (OGP)** OGP is an experimental sandbox unit of the Singapore Government that builds tech for public good. The era of wrestling with boilerplate and getting stuck in syntax loops is over. This morning is about reclaiming your creativity by using Gemini 3.1 to handle the heavy lifting while you take your place as the Conductor of the Code. If you’ve ever wanted to build a complex, agent-led application just by talking to your machine, this is your morning. **🛠 Bring Your Laptop!** This isn't a "sit back and watch" session. We want you in the IDE (AI Studio and Antigravity), hands on the keys, experimenting with Gemini 3.1 Pro and/or Flash-Lite to see how far your vision can go when friction is removed. We’re stripping away the grunt work so you can focus on what actually matters: the build. ***Are you ready to orchestrate the future, or are you still debugging the past?*** #BuildwithAI #GoogleForDevelopers #GDGSingapore \-\-\- By attending this event, you acknowledge that you have [read and agreed to follow these security guidelines](https://bit.ly/devspace-security). How LLMs Like ChatGPT Actually Work and How to Build With Them
How LLMs Like ChatGPT Actually Work and How to Build With Them
**First meetup of the Columbus AI Engineering group.** We’ll kick things off with a practical, beginner-friendly discussion on: **How LLMs like ChatGPT actually work — and how to build real applications with them.** We’ll cover: * what’s actually happening under the hood (at a high level) * why LLMs behave the way they do (hallucinations, prompt sensitivity, etc.) * how people are building real systems with them today * where things break in practice This will be a **short, informal talk (\~15–20 min)** followed by open discussion and Q&A. Whether you’re an engineer, builder, or just curious about how modern AI systems work, you’re welcome to join. No slides, no fluff — just real conversation about real systems. From Web Forms to Web Components - Burton Smith
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you. The building address is 4450 Bridge Park The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400 **Abstract** Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively. This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. We’ll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from server‑driven controls, and why they’re becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether you’re maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, you’ll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standards‑based way. **YouTube Link** TBA
