These yellow petals you see all over the city--where do they come from, what are they called?! And have you noticed that the purple Jacarandas are shedding their final flowers? Let's connect with the spring before we fully embrace the summer. Each class is 1-hour--with multiple times available-- All weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, at 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm (yes, all three times, all three days!), come out to walk around the park and learn how to identify some of the flowers that surround us. We will learn identification processes, a little bit of history about how the plants got here, and how they affect the local ecosystems. The classes are in English and are pay-what-you-can with a 5-10euro suggestion! Pick the time that works best for you and your friends to have a nerdy date, a pre-dinner activity, or a post-siesta lesson, and spend some time outdoors learning something new in a cute, accessible way. Esta propuesta nace con la intención de crear un espacio de encuentro periódico para todas aquellas personas interesadas en la **astrología**, el autoconocimiento y el intercambio de experiencias. This event explores how schools and other campuses can create living classrooms and contribute to community science. * **Tour the Land Lab:** Award-winning environmental science educator Jim Reding will lead guided tours through prairie, wetlands and other restored habitat, sharing the story behind this nationally-recognized space and the students and partnerships who helped make it happen. * **Contribute to Community Science with iNaturalist App:** Learn to identify and document plants, pollinators and other wildlife using iNaturalist. Foraged Art at the Fruit & Forest Farm Jun 27 Join us for a morning of Mindfulness, Meditation and Foraged Art Mandalas at the Together We Grow Fruit & Forest Farm in Newark, OH. In our session together, you can expect: * Relaxing meditation & gentle forest walk * An introduction to creating mandalas through the plant lifecycle * A gathering of forest materials to create beautiful natural art in the meadow * A small gift included for reflection afterwards The session is free for the community. Donations encouraged to support the missions of both Together We Grow and Mental Health America. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable weather appropriate clothing for an outdoor event. We recommend bringing water, bug spray and sunscreen. The event will include light walking on uneven terrain, standing in grass and wooded areas, and bending to collect natural materials. Attendees will have the option for seated rest at picnic tables at a shelter house throughout the session. Let’s meet and wander the galleries! General admission on Sundays is free. We'll be meeting in the sculpture garden area at the meeting time, which is just outside the cafe area by the main entry. When you approach the front desk/main entry area there will be some seating just outside the cafe area. If you can meet us there by 11:20 we'll head into the gallery area as a group, but if you arrive after that time feel free to message us through the meetup app, and we'll do our best to connect you with the group!
