This group is for everyone who is interested in drawing portraits! For me, drawing has been a wonderful way to gain a new perspective on the world and the people within it. Whether you are just starting out or have been drawing for ages — all levels are welcome :) How it works: 1\. We meet at The Castle pub in Mitte and do short sittings of 15 minutes for each other\. The first sitting is divided into 3 warm\-up sketches\, 5 minutes each\. 2\. Before we start\, everybody writes their name on a blank card \(provided by the organizer\); these cards are then used to randomly pick the model every 15 minutes\. 3\. Usually we do 8 sittings\, with a 15\-minute break in the middle \(so after 4 sittings\, or 1 hour\)\. -> The participation is free, but it is expected that everybody orders something from the bar to support the lovely location. Get out your pencils and let's start! Please bring your own art supplies!

Spring is arriving, and we’re welcoming it gently on March 1st with a special event at Art.OM - Tea ceremony & Slow Flow. We begin with a 30-minute guided tasting of teas from Darjeeling region, led by Swikriti, exploring aroma, warmth, and subtle layers. While the name Darjeeling is celebrated worldwide, the farmers behind these hills are often overlooked. Small local growers continue to preserve traditional craftsmanship, and sharing their teas is a way to support them with intention and care. From this grounded space, we move into a 1-hour slow flow yoga practice guided by Mia. The sequence links breath with gentle movement, inviting warmth, softness, and awareness. Through taste and movement, we cultivate presence - a quiet connection between body, senses, and intention.

## You like drawing but find portraits challenging? ### **You just need the right process!** Then this workshop is for YOU! And for anyone who wishes to explore realistic pencil portrait drawing from photographic references through a structured method, and wants to learn or refine pencil hatching and shading techniques. The workshop is designed for a small group, allowing a flexible and supportive approach, adapting to each participant’s level: from guiding beginners to helping intermediate artists tackle their personal creative challenges. Without the pressure of the final result, we will focus on learning the method and enjoying the creative process. I am Alessia Sinopoli, an Italian professional artist based in Berlin, and I will be your instructor throughout this journey. ### What we'll do step by step We’ll combine theory and practice: * Practice targeted observation to select the best reference photo * Use the grid method for accurate proportions and create a preliminary sketch * Understand the differences between pencils of various hardness and get familiar with the materials we’ll use * Master shading (the real magic!) with hatching techniques to shape volume and depth * Train your observational skills to recognize different tonal values * Explore changing perspectives to refresh your vision * Discuss common mistakes and learn how to avoid them * Participate in an open Q&A, receive personalized tips, and get feedback throughout the process * Learn how to preserve and protect your finished portrait ### Breaks and Refreshments While drawing, we’ll enjoy some tea. From time to time we will have short breaks, as drawing can be quite intense. Between the first and second parts of the workshop, we’ll take a longer break, It’ll be the perfect moment to connect, share a cup of coffee and a slice of cake together. ### What is included? We meet and sketch each other in Berlin. This is just an art gym that we also exercise our social skills. Afterwards usually we go for lunch as a group. **How Does It Work?** This event is simple, we meet and sketch each other doing portraits. Most of the participants use pencils or watercolors. Main aim is to socialize while we draw. There will be plenty of time to talk and get to know each other. We have to mention that this event is suitable for all levels. Many have started to draw in our event actually. **Structure** A. Warmup Phase: We pose to each other for 1 minute. B. Main Phase: We pose to each other for 10 minutes. C. Showcase Phase: We show some of the drawings we did to each other. **Who We Are** Creative Sessions is an art events group located in Berlin. **Is it Free?** The event is free of charge. It is advisable to get a drink though. This is a cafe, we need to have at least half of the people on each table with a drink. They accept only cash and most hot drinks cost from 2.50 to 3.50. **How to help or donate?** The event is provided for free but many people help this be a regular thing. A 60-minute Hatha-Kundalini practice designed to guide you back to a state of stillness and ease at the week's end. This session is a curated journey to calm the mind and strengthen the body, using grounding Pranayama (breath control), purposeful asana (postures), and potent Kriya sequences. We will explore finding ease even within physical and mental challenge, learning to steady the mind, release built-up anxiety, and reconnect with a deeper sense of self.
