WebAssembly and Embedded Software Development
WebAssembly and Embedded Software Development
**About** Would your embedded product benefit from application logic updates that do not require changes to the full firmware? Or a mechanism for your customers to tweak and extend the functionality of the product? Using their favourite language(s), without proprietary tooling? And all that while your product stays secure, no matter how creative said customers get? WebAssembly (abbreviated Wasm) might be exactly what you are looking for. Join us this evening to learn about the state of the art of running WebAssembly on MCUs, and to experience a practical example of a real world, production grade embedded code base targeting WebAssembly and running in a browser. Merging the two approaches is then left to the visitors as a take-home exercise. **Presentations** 1. 15’: Welcome (Urs/Reto and SCS) 2. 40’: Browser technology on the MCU? Introduction to WebAssembly, overview of existing embedded runtimes, use cases, discussion. (Pascal Mainini) 3. 30’: Unlocking Bluetooth Connectivity in Browsers: From Sensors to Audio (Matthias Ringwald) Presentations start at 19:00. Afterwards we’ll have plenty of time to discuss and socialize. **About the speakers** * [Pascal Mainini](https://mainini.ch/) is a teacher and researcher at [Berner Fachhochschule](https://www.bfh.ch/en/about-bfh/people/kkmsprgzbqc2/), focussing on the security of embedded systems and the Internet of Things. * [Matthias Ringwald](https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthiasringwald/) is a Co-Founder of [BlueKitchen GmbH](https://bluekitchen-gmbh.com/) and develops their Bluetooth stack. He knows everything about Bluetooth.
Poolside Chats: Design, Engineering, & UX
Poolside Chats: Design, Engineering, & UX
Hi! I’m Stephanie, a product designer based in Zurich. I’m looking to build a community of curious designers, developers, product managers, and other creative technologists who enjoy thoughtful conversations outside the usual networking events, conferences, and office spaces. This summer, we’ll meet at local Badis and neighborhood pools around Zurich to relax, connect, and share ideas in a casual setting. Bring a passion project, a problem you’re thinking about, an interesting article, a new tool, or simply your perspective. Topics might include: * Design, technology, and product thinking * Ethical, responsible, and sustainable uses of AI * Creativity, learning, and personal projects * Philosophy, culture, and the future of digital products The goal isn’t pitching, recruiting, or performing expertise. It’s creating a welcoming space to exchange ideas, practice communicating them, and learn from one another without judgment. If spending less time in meeting rooms and more time having meaningful conversations by the water sounds appealing, I’d love to meet you. See you poolside.

When we turn from frameworks and slides to the fundamental questions strategy needs to answer, a new possibility of pragmatic decision-making emerges – No matter your company size, industry, or job title. In this workshop-from-the stage, we will create clarity for your product strategy challenges by tackling them live and in real-time in Miro. Be prepared to come with your real-life questions, and leave with clarity on your next step. DOMINIQUE JOST (Head of Product at Doist, Bern): **End-to-End PM or End-of PM?** No hype. No hero stories. Just the practical, unfiltered lessons from [Doist](https://www.doist.com/)’s (makers of [Todoist](https://www.todoist.com/) and [Twist](https://twist.com/)) shift toward end-to-end PMs, and what AI is and isn’t changing about the craft. If you want a grounded, and messy view of what PM work will look like in the next few years, this talk is for you. JULIA BASTIAN (Product Lead Innovation & GenAI at Alasco, Munich): **From lagging metrics to leading decision - How B2B teams can lead with qualitative data** In B2B companies, sales often drives product decisions—not because it’s the best path, but because product teams lack the data to challenge it and steer confidently themselves. Unlike B2C, B2B data is often slow, sparse, and arrives too late to drive real-time learning. The result? Product managers feel stuck— aware that the current approach isn’t delivering impact, but unsure how to change a system that keeps them reactive. This talk is a call to action for B2B product teams ready to lead again. You’ll leave with four practical actions to shift the dynamics in you organization tomorrow! At the heart of this shift is qualitative data—not just as a source of deep insight, but as a foundation for building up organizational gut feeling. We’ll dive into practical techniques for gathering, sharing, and acting on qualitative data—and why organizational learning is the true unlock for product-led growth in complex B2B environments. STEPHANIE HÜRLAND (Head of AI Products and Strategy at ZDFSparks): **Two worlds, one role** – **AI Product Management through client and provider lenses** AI product management is shaped by two fundamentally different perspectives: the viewpoint of product teams defining needs, goals, and strategic direction, and the viewpoint of those responsible for designing, building, and delivering the actual AI solution. Both perspectives influence how decisions are made, how value is defined, and how complexity and uncertainty are managed throughout the product lifecycle. The session provides an overview of the key differences and shared challenges between these two perspectives, and highlights what successful AI product management requires when navigating both. The session includes practical examples that illustrate how different perspectives influence the way AI products are shaped, evaluated, and developed. SEBASTIAN CASTANEDA (former Team Lead at Foodora, Vienna): **Driving growth with limited engineering capacity: How creative experiments lifted Foodora's tips by 60%** Foodora Austria raised rider tips by 60%, while facing a challenge: after a couple of complex iterations and proper A/B tests, engineering capacity became limited. In this talk, we’ll go through the experiments they ran, including the trade-offs and challenges, learning what worked and what didn’t. We will explore how small UI tweaks, working with data, and understanding the cultural context can drive growth, even if you do not have a large analytics team or advanced testing tools. FLORIAN BONNET (VP Solutions & Growth at Veriff): **How to turn oproduct work into revenue outcomes with KPI trees** Product teams often track many metrics but struggle to clearly connect their work to business impact. This talk introduces North Star Metrics and KPI Trees as a practical framework for understanding product performance, customer behavior, and the levers that drive revenue outcomes. Florian will walk through how effective KPI Trees are structured, how North Star Metrics are typically defined across different contexts, and why this approach works for organizations of any size or model. Through concrete examples, you’ll see how KPI Trees can go beyond performance tracking to help translate product metrics into the language of business — bridging the gap that often exists between product teams and leadership. You’ll leave with a clearer mental model of how outcome-driven product organizations connect day-to-day work to measurable business results. Thank you to our sponsor [On](https://www.on.com/) for hosting us again and to [airfocus by Lucid](https://airfocus.com/) as well as [89grad](www.89grad.ch) for sponsoring the event!

NOVA Code & Coffee [165] - At FCED Venue
NOVA Code and Coffee is an inclusive, informal, co-working session. People of all skill levels are invited. The concept is simple, bring a laptop and ideas, we'll provide the coffee and donuts! Here's how it works: 1. At 10:15 everyone introduces themselves and briefly describes what brought them to Code & Coffee today (project, homework, networking, etc) 2. For the rest of the day, folks work in the communal space on their projects providing one another help and conversation as needed. Oh and they usually drink coffee and tea too! That's it! Hope to see you there! **Location** Our hosts are the Fairfax City Economic Development Building: [10300 Eaton Pl, Fairfax, VA 22030](https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=d7298231ca2df594df822003f9a93517c788fceefe1fcbb79c8976696e341bc6JmltdHM9MTc1MzIyODgwMA&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=4&fclid=180d0745-3b7f-69a1-23a2-11433a7868e5&u=a1L21hcHM_Jm1lcGk9MTA5fn5Ub3BPZlBhZ2V-QWRkcmVzc19MaW5rJnR5PTE4JnE9RmFpcmZheCUyMENpdHklMjBFY29ub21pYyUyMERldmVsb3BtZW50JnNzPXlwaWQuWU44NzN4ODI4MTk2Mjg0NTk5MDM4MTU0MiZwcG9pcz0zOC44NjE0NDYzODA2MTUyMzRfLTc3LjMwMjE3NzQyOTE5OTIyX0ZhaXJmYXglMjBDaXR5JTIwRWNvbm9taWMlMjBEZXZlbG9wbWVudF9ZTjg3M3g4MjgxOTYyODQ1OTkwMzgxNTQyfiZjcD0zOC44NjE0NDZ-LTc3LjMwMjE3NyZ2PTImc1Y9MSZGT1JNPU1QU1JQTA&ntb=1) Conference Room A- Large, Floor 1 This is a new venue for us, so give us some time to get more details about it. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to reach out: timothyfilippone@gmail.com

Important: Register on [AICamp website](https://www.aicamp.ai/event/eventdetails/W2026061814) is required for admission. **Description:** Welcome to the AI meetup in Washington DC. Join us for deep dive tech talks on AI, GenAI, LLMs and Agents, hands-on experiences on code labs, workshops, and networking with speakers and fellow developers. **Agenda:** \* 5:30pm\~6:00pm: Checkin, Food/drink and networking \* 6:00pm\~8:00pm: Tech talks and Q&A \* 8:00pm: Happy Hour at Courthouse Social (cross the street) **Tech Talk: Secure Developer Environments in the Age of AI Agents** **Speaker:** Patrick Brown (Coder) **Abstract:** Federal engineering teams are under pressure to ship faster while meeting some of the most demanding security and compliance requirements in the world. In this talk, Patrick Brown of Coder explores how cloud development environments (CDEs) give agencies a foundation to accelerate software delivery without sacrificing control — and why that foundation matters even more as AI-powered coding agents enter the workflow. He'll cover how CDEs keep source code off endpoints, enforce zero-trust access patterns, and provide the consistent, ephemeral infrastructure that both human developers and AI agents need to operate safely at scale. **Speakers:** Stay tuned as we are updating speakers and schedules. If you have a keen interest in speaking to our community, we invite you to submit topics for consideration: [Submit Topics](https://forms.gle/JkMt91CZRtoJBSFUA) **Sponsors:** We are actively seeking sponsors to support AI developers community. Whether it is by offering venue spaces, providing food, or cash sponsorship. Sponsors will not only speak at the meetups, receive prominent recognition, but also gain exposure to our extensive membership base of 5,000+ AI developers in D.C and 500K+ worldwide.
