Weil jeder insgeheim Angst hat, durch Verbindlichkeit eine noch bessere Option zu verpassen, maximieren alle ihren kurzfristigen Nutzen. Viele enden langfristig in der kollektiven Einsamkeit. Ist der „perfekte Partner“ ein statistischer Mythos, der uns unfähig macht, echte Unvollkommenheit zu lieben? Gibt es eine „Pflicht zur Fairness“ im Dating? Wo verläuft die Grenze zwischen legitimen Vorlieben (Präferenzen) und einer moralisch fragwürdiger Grundhaltung? Die alten Drehbücher des Patriarchats sind glücklicherweise überholt, aber die neuen sind noch nicht geschrieben. Wie verhandeln wir Erwartungen (wer zahlt, wer wirbt, wer bindet sich), wenn traditionelle Rollen wegfallen, aber evolutionäre oder kulturelle Muster tief in uns weiterwirken? Gibt es ein so etwas wie Rezept für Partnerschaft und Familie, das man beherzigen sollte? Sind Patchworkfamilien und Partnerschaften auf Zeit unser unabwendbares Schicksal, wenn wir uns binden? Dieser Abend soll die intimste aller menschlichen Verbindungen durch die Brille von Philosophie, Logik, Ethik, Spieltheorie und Soziologie betrachten. Im Zentrum steht die Frage nach dem angemessenen Umgang mit dem Thema Partnerschaft.
