March Members Talk Evening
**SignUps on [LUMA](https://luma.com/wf99go3k) Only**
[https://luma.com/wf99go3k](https://luma.com/wf99go3k)
Hi PyLadies Berlin! In this members' talks evening held in-person and online, we will have an introduction from our sponsor Blacklane and some very insightful talks đĽł
**đĄErica Wolf - Queer coding**
There are different meanings of Queer Coding. I will focus on the meaning grounded in Critical Theory and how Python, specifically, addresses this idea.
**Level:** Experience of Python is not required
đŠâđť Erica Wolf is a transgender woman, who escaped the political Dystopia of the USA in 2023. She has been writing Python for 20+ years and got to go through a painful transition from 2.7 to 3.X (I still always format my PRINT and RETURN statements wrong). She got an MS in Geographical Information Science (Make maps with computers) in the USA Currently, she is a Mentor/Coach for FLINTA people who have found themselves as leaders in Tech Startups.
**đĄLisa Johannsen - Crypto Bot**
She will introduce my CryptoBot project, which combines real-time data processing, machine learning, and scalable system design. By comparing historical price data with live streaming data, the model predicts price movements and determines whether to buy or hold.
**Level:** Intermediate Developer
đŠâđť Lisa Johannsen is a Diplom Engineer from Berlin working as a Data Engineer. She enjoys building reliable and scalable data systems, while finding the right balance between automation, trust in data, and human expertise. For her, the best data solutions come from combining solid engineering with critical thinking and real-world context.
**đĄMaya ĂykĂź GĂźmĂźs - Navigating Technical Interviews: Lessons From Both Sides**
âIn this talk, I share my journey from being a tech candidate and an interviewer, offering a behind-the-scenes perspective on the hiring process in 2026. Drawing from experiences on both sides of the table, Iâll break down how technical interviews are structured today, what companies are really evaluating, and how expectations have evolved. Attendees will gain practical insights into modern tech hiring trends, common pitfalls, and how to approach interviews with greater clarity and confidenceâwhether as candidates or future interviewers.
â
â**Level:** Experience of Python is not required

AWS User Group Berlin Session - March 2026
Dear Community,

18:30 - Warming up and networking chat
18:45 - Intro by AWS UG Berlin & Exasol
19:00 - 19:40 - **Philipp Hoyer // An AWS Container Journey - The Good, The Bad and The Ugly featuring ECS and EKS**
EKS on Fargate promises fully managed Kubernetes without EC2 management, but it comes with more hidden complexity than expected. In this talk, I compare running containers on AWS Fargate with EKS versus ECS based on real project experience.
Philipp is Senior AWS DevOps Engineer at Rackspace Technology, where he helps automotive customers design and operate reliable cloud and container platforms on AWS.
19:40 - 20:00 - Network break with snacks & drinks
20:00 - 20:40 - **Piotr Pabis // How we cut ECS Startup by 30% - SOCI Deep Dive**
"What are docker images anyway? How are they formed? What is a other container registry? I want to go from first principles - presenting TAR files, composing an image, combining it with a JSON manifest and explaining how SOCI technology improves the speed of lazy loading required files and layers. HTTP range requests, GZIP table of contents, many things. I will try to make it understandable for the casual Docker user as well as nerds who want to know how this works under the hood."
Piotr is a Senior Platform Engineer at About You and a well-known Community Builder in AWS. He works mostly improving legacy projects, Terraform and migrating old stuff to ECS.

There Must Be a Lilac: EventStorming with Alberto Brandolini
He's back! The inventor of EventStorming is once again joining the Berlin Collaborative Modeling Meetup for an evening of massive learning, massive laughter, and no doubt a massive number of sticky notes.
Here is the agenda:
**Collaborative Reverse Roadmapping**
We'll put future events on a timeline to build the future we want to happen and make it tactically sound. We'll leverage ideas from
* EventStorming (surprise!)
* Futurespective
* Traditional planning
And we'll explore a tool that will enable strategic planning and overcome deadlocks.
This is a rare opportunity to spend time with a true thought leader in the DDD community and the person who contributed to the world the whole premise of our meetup. He's full of insights and stories, wit and wisdom, and we are lucky to have him drop by to share them with us. Don't miss this one!
**Please do not RSVP if you do not intend to come. For this event only, we have to limit attendance.**
As always, everyone is welcome. You don't need to be a software engineer to participate. In fact, it would be great to have more people who aren't software engineers. We're here to solve problems cross-functionally, not get into implementation details. As long as you care passionately about getting things right, then you belong here!
This is a hands-on workshop. Be prepared to participate fully and add to the energy of the room. Looking forward to seeing you there!

**What moves are you making?**
A promotion youâre working toward.
A role change youâre considering.
A bigger leadership opportunity.
A conversation that needs to happen.
A decision thatâs been sitting in the back of your mind.
For our Q1 Women in Product Columbus event, weâre creating space to actually work through those moments.
**Making Moves** is an evening of focused, facilitated coaching conversations with experienced mentors from our local product community. This isnât a panel. Itâs not passive networking. Itâs small-group dialogue designed to be thoughtful, practical, and worth your time.
Hereâs how it will work:
⢠Youâll choose a topic that reflects what youâre navigating right now
⢠Youâll join a small coaching circle (5â7 participants)
⢠Each circle is led by a mentor who has lived experience in that area
⢠Weâll run two rounds so you can go deeper or explore a second conversation
### Coaching Topics:
⢠Communicating the Value of Your Work (or Team)
⢠Career Transitions & Whatâs Next
⢠Growing Into Leadership
⢠Staying Relevant as Technology (and AI) Changes
⢠Getting Alignment and Decisions from Leadership
Our goal is simple: you leave with clearer thinking, practical perspective, and at least one next step you feel confident about.
Space in each circle will be limited to keep conversations meaningful.
If this sounds like the kind of room youâve been wanting to be in, weâd love to see you on March 10.
