Philosophy Circle: The merits of economic liberty
Please join us this Sunday as we discuss the merits of economic liberty.
**We will meet at the Queensberry Hotel, 593 Swanston Street, Carlton (100m north of previous location) at 2pm for a 2:15pm start sharp.**
**We kindly ask attendees to pay $5 to attend to help with MeetUp costs & venue costs. This is not mandatory, but if you are a regular member it would be appreciated. Any extra moneys will go towards buying food and drinks for the table. The venue also expects us to spend money as a group, so grateful if everyone could buy a drink from the venue.**
There is no pre-requisite preparation necessary, nor a philosophical background, all that is required is a curious mind. These discussions are both a Socrates Cafe style discussion and lively metaphysical dojo, in the spirit of learning and friendly debate, so please feel free to challenge assumptions and be prepared to have your own assumptions challenged.
This event is also posted in the Philosophy Circle group.
Find below some questions or topics to consider, however these are free-ranging events and the below serve as a springboard for the discussion:
* Economic liberty as personal independence
* Economic liberty as prosperity
* Economic liberty as protection from concentrated power
* Economic liberty as pluralism
* Economic liberty as discipline and responsibility
* Does economic liberty mean liberty for the already powerful?
* Does economic liberty undermine solidarity and community?
* Can economic liberty generate domination rather than independence?
Hope to see you there!

Conversation â Connection â Contribution
What starts as a simple conversation can turn into something bigger if we are thoughtful and intentional. That is when chats lead to genuine friendships rather than just a number in the phone or social media
Those relationships spark ideas, collaboration, and win together.
This isnât just networking. Itâs about:
* starting with honest / intentional conversations,
* building authentic connections
* and exploring how we can add value to each other
Whether youâre here to share, listen, collaborate, or simply meet good people â youâll find a space that values depth over surface level talk.
**You can expect**
* Easy, guided conversations to break the ice
* Opportunities to connect one-on-one and in a small group
* A supportive, open-minded and encouraging atmosphere
* Space to explore ideas, collaborations, or simply meaningful exchange
* **1 to 1.5ish hours walk**
Just people coming together with curiosity and intention.
What to bring:
\- Bottle of water \(or any drink you like\)
\- Jacket \(incase you feel chilly\)
\- Walk friendly shoes

Find Your Personality Match - Make Friends (Age group: 25-45))
đ **A new one-on-one, personality-based connection experience**
Many of you have been asking about structured events and if Iâd ever bring them back.
Well⌠here it is - a new version, more intentional, and built around something I care about : **matching people based on personality.**
Over the years, Iâve seen how hard it can be to find people you truly click with as adults. Small talk goes nowhere, and most events donât give you the space for real conversation.
đŤ **What to Expect**
This is not speed dating, and itâs not a big mixer.
Itâs a curated, one-on-one connection experience where youâll meet a few people whoâve been matched to you based on personality and vibe.
Expect:
* A cosy, comfortable venue
* A hosted structure so youâre never left awkwardly standing around
* A series of guided one-on-one conversations
* A relaxed atmosphere where you can genuinely be yourself
* This is not dating focused event, there will be a seperate one for dating
Each conversation is designed to feel natural â because the match is based on compatibility
Get your tickets here - https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/1985176043987?aff=oddtdtcreator
đ§ **Before the Event**
Once you get your Eventbrite ticket, youâll receive a **short personality test (If you have already taken the test at a previous event you don't need to do it again)**.
It takes only a few minutes but helps us understand your communication style, energy, and compatibility factors.
This is how we curate meaningful one-on-one pairings for the event.
đż **Come Join Us**
If youâre tired of small talk and ready to meet people who truly fit your personality, this is for you.
A warm, intentional space created for deeper conversations and genuine chemistry - whether it becomes friendship, something romantic, or just a surprisingly great chat.
RSVP now â spots are kept limited to ensure quality one-on-one time.

Prompt vs. Paintbrush
AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machineâs?
This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation?
We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee.

Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games!
The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime!
Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "Yes, And" that you'll have fun!
Data & Analytics Wednesday - The Data-Driven Brand
**The Data-Driven Brand: Using Analytics to Shape Perception**
Can you use analytics to improve tacos? This being CBUSDAW, we think the answer is probably âyesâ, but weâre not sure how to implement or test this theory.
For our April meetup weâve got Sara Kear, CMO of Condado Tacos, to investigate this delicious question. Sara will explore how she blends quantitative data and qualitative customer feedback to shape brand positioning and drive business decisions. We all know that marketing and analytics go way beyond attribution. Sara will show how Condado uses customer insights to inform product and pricing strategy.
Sheâll also highlight how Condado leverages customer feedback at scale to influence operational priorities, positioning marketing as the voice of the customer across the organization. In the last 12 years Condado has gone from one location in Columbus to 52 locations across 10 states, so weâre guessing thereâs more to that growth than really good guac (though the guac probably helps).
Ultimately, this talk focuses on the intersection of art and scienceâusing data to inform creativity and build a brand that resonates with customers in a measurable way.
**About Our Speaker**
Sara Kear is Chief Marketing Officer at Condado Tacos, where she oversees brand, restaurant design, menu and pricing strategy, off-premise including catering, and customer data strategy. Since joining in 2021, she has helped grow the brand from 19 to 52 locations while building a data-driven marketing organization focused on loyalty and customer insights. Condado has since been named to the Inc. 5000, recognized as Breakout Retailer by Chain Store Age, and consistently ranked among FastCasualâs Top 100 Movers & Shakers.

CBusData: The Fellowship of the Star Schema: Transforming OLTP Data for Power BI
The Fellowship of the Star Schema: Transforming OLTP Data for Power BI
One does not simply build reports on OLTP data. Join us on an epic journey from the depths of raw, normalized tables to the shining halls of a well-modeled star schema fit for Power BI greatness. We will demystify the differences between OLTP and OLAP, walk through star schema vs snowflake (and why Power BI has a clear favorite), and show you the compression differences between normalized and columnar storage that will make you never look at an OLTP model the same way again.
We will cover the different types of dimensions, when to use them, and how to handle Slowly Changing Dimensions without losing your mind. You will leave knowing exactly how to identify a bad model, how to convert OLTP data into a clean star schema, and how to forge relationships that rule them all.
Whether you are a data wizard, a curious hobbit, or somewhere in between, your models will never be the same.
