My One Year in Two MAGA Aligned Churches: What I Saw, Heard, and Learned.
My One Year in Two MAGA Aligned Churches: What I Saw, Heard, and Learned.
What happens when a church appears to compromise its pulpit for an electoral advantage? What does faith look like when the idols of order, boundaries, and violence replace the Gospel’s call for love, justice, and inclusion? And what can followers of Jesus do to stand up for their neighbors considering the increasing influence of nationalist churches? Join us March 10th as **Nathan Krauss** shares his powerful witness, *“My One Year in Two MAGA Aligned Churches: What I Saw, Heard, and Learned.”* In this month’s conversation, Nathan will reflect on his year inside two MAGA-aligned churches and explore: · **How these churches fuse** vs synergize **both American and Christian identity,** · **The symbols, rituals, and rhetoric employed to promote Christian Nationalism and “MAGA Christianity.”** · **How these churches can threaten the Church’s prophetic witness,** · **How the partisan church attempts to sanctify political campaigns through its electioneering efforts,** · **And finally, a look at the larger institutions, networks, and power players that drive the movement.** Through personal narrative and thoughtful theological reflection, Nathan invites us into a candid conversation about identity, faithfulness, and the future of the American Christian Church. Nathan writes on these issues at his Substack, *Searching for Berea*, and brings a grounded, compassionate, and deeply informed voice to one of the most urgent conversations in the Church today.

We focus on providing education and building networks to help every member solve their cash-flow freedom equation, so they can have the time-freedom needed to follow their passions, make a lasting impact and even change the world! The unique format of this event, which consists of high-level education, gamified networking, mastermind breakout sessions, case studies, group deal analysis, market deep dives, and peer-to-peer coaching facilitation makes this the most impactful local real estate investor group a real estate investor can be a part of. The foundation of the group is built around the belief that everyone in the room has the potential to change the world… however most of us never have the time, energy or financial situation to even dare to dream big enough. Most of us have passions that will never be followed, amazing businesses or ideas that will never be pursued… unless we can solve the Cash-Flow Freedom Equation, which ultimately leads to Time-Freedom. Once that happens it is usually much easier for us to think bigger, dream bigger, be bigger. · Learn more about the Cash-Flow Breakfast Club [HERE](https://cashflowbreakfastclub.com/) · Get in the VIP List to be notified about the next event in your area [HERE](https://the.cashflowbreakfastclub.com/VIP) · Learn more about Launching your own Cash-Flow Breakfast Club Location [HERE](https://cashflowbreakfastclub.com/launch-your-own-club/) · Learn more about becoming an Affiliate-Sponsor at one of our club locations [HERE](https://cashflowbreakfastclub.com/affiliate-sponsors/) · View photos and videos of some of our recent events [HERE](https://cashflowbreakfastclub.com/about-the-cash-flow-breakfast-club/) · Looking to represent? Voices of Mount Pleasant Toastmasters 2nd Tuesday Meeting (Hybrid)
Voices of Mount Pleasant Toastmasters 2nd Tuesday Meeting (Hybrid)
Voices of Mount Pleasant Toastmasters is a new faith-based club sponsored by Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Herndon which is open and all guests are welcome to attend. It is a pleasant fusion of Public Speaking and Leadership training with fun and fellowship. Opening with an invocation, the Club president provides guests the opportunity to introduce themselves to the group with a short elevator-speech and introduces the Toastmaster to lead the meeting with a theme. The General Evaluator and team are introduced to let attendees know the word of the day, the timing of speeches and evaluations, and the filler-words, which wil be counted. In the first segment of the meeting, there will be 1 or 2 prepared speeches from projects studied in the Toastmasters education program (Pathways). In the second segment of the meeting, willing attendees are selected to receive information or a question from the Table Topics Master to give a 1-2 minute impromptu speech. In the third segment of the meeting, the General Evaluator introduces the Evaluator for each prepared speech; reintroduces the Timer, the Ah-Counter, and the Grammarian for reports. Next, the General Evaluator gives a summarized review of the structure and leaders of the meeting. An Educational Moment will be given to explain the Toastmasters Educational Program (Pathways) as an introduction to new members and guests. The presiding officer will make announcements, ask visitors to the club for their impression of the meeting for feedback, ask for prayer concerns, and give a benediction to end the meeting. The group is mainly made up of members of the church who joined Toastmasters for the first time with the chartering of the club in September of 2023. So everyone is learning together and encouraging one another.

Profs & Pints Northern Virginia: A Practical Guide to Social Change
Profs & Pints Northern Virginia: A Practical Guide to Social Change
[Profs and Pints Northern Virginia](https://www.profsandpints.com/washingtondc) presents: **“A Practical Guide to Social Change,”** a research-based look at how communities bring about reform and progress, with Marissa Robinson, founder of Real Health Impact LLC and an adjunct professor at George Washington University who teaches courses focused on public health leadership and social change. [Advance tickets: $13.50 plus sales tax and processing fees. Available at [https://events.ticketleap.com/tickets/profsandpints/nv-social-change](https://events.ticketleap.com/tickets/profsandpints/nv-social-change) .] Systems built on inequality rarely transform without deliberate pressure from the people most committed to justice, because progress takes coordination, conviction and willingness to change what has always been accepted. Real change starts when people choose to move together. Learn what research and experience say about how to make real social progress with Dr. Marissa Robinson, a public health practitioner who previously worked in federal agencies coordinating global and national public health initiatives focused on infectious diseases, HIV, and health equity. Among the key questions she’ll tackle: How do communities overcome barriers to create real change? When should evidence guide decisions and when does context matter more? She’ll discuss established frameworks for moving from intention to measurable progress and talk about the importance of building coalitions that actually work and of making decisions grounded in real data. You’ll learn about the importance of testing ideas on a small scale before going big, as well as how to use rapid feedback loops and continuous improvement cycles to refine approaches and scale what truly works. Dr. Robinson will share stories of ordinary people and communities who refused to accept the status quo and pushed through real barriers to achieve breakthrough results. She’ll talk about practical strategies, usable frameworks, and evidence-based examples that people can apply immediately in their own communities and organizations to support change that lasts. If you have dreamed about bringing about progress in your world, this talk will give you the clarity, direction, and confidence it takes to turn such dreams into reality. Bitter About Gerrymandering? There Is a SWEET Solution!
Sven Sinclair will discuss the recent arms race in partisan gerrymandering that has been in the news a lot, but it is just a symptom of more fundamental flaws in our electoral system. This talk, based on his recent essay "[A SWEET Cure for Gerrymandering](https://svenosaurus.substack.com/p/a-sweet-cure-for-gerrymandering?utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=web&triedRedirect=true)," will discuss those flaws, obstacles to fixing them, and a new proposal for a workable solution. Sven Sinclair is a member of NOVES for over two decades, is an economist and actuary who has been interested in electoral math and design of electoral systems since the last century. Children and young children welcome! When: Sunday, March 15, 2026 Coffee available at 10:45 AM, Speaker begins at 11:00 AM Where: Green Hedges School 415 Windover Ave NW, Vienna, VA

The Arts & Community: Creativity as a Catalyst for Connection
The Arts & Community: Creativity as a Catalyst for Connection
What role do the arts play in building strong, vibrant communities? How can creativity bring people together across differences, spark dialogue, and strengthen our shared sense of belonging? Join us for an open, engaging discussion on how visual art, music, theater, literature, film, and public art contribute to community life. Whether you’re an artist, arts supporter, educator, organizer, or simply someone who values culture, this conversation is for you. We’ll explore questions such as: * How do the arts create connection across cultural, generational, and social divides? * Can creative expression help communities heal after conflict or crisis? This is a dialogue — not a lecture — designed to surface diverse perspectives and lived experiences. Expect thoughtful conversation and opportunities to imagine new possibilities together. **All are welcome.**
Energizing Walk for Busy People!
Energizing Walk for Busy People!
Join our weekly walking meetup to have fun, maintain a healthy lifestyle, meet new people, and enjoy the weather! We meet Saturdays at 10am, halfway between the Reston *Container Store* and *Not Your Average Joes* (by the metal benches), leaving no later than 10:05. Every week, rain or shine, we start by walking along the Green Trail to reach Lake Anne Community Center. Once there, we pause for water/bio (often staying a few minutes extra from April-November, due to the local Farmer's Market), and then we circle Lake Anne and head back to our starting point. It's roughly 3-4 miles and takes about an hour and a half. Afterwards, some members will often head to *Not Your Average Joes* or another local restaurant for a quick drink/meal before tackling the day. This event is open to all ages and fitness levels. Dogs are welcome, and we recommend dressing for the weather (umbrella, water, snow shoes, hat, etc.) since we'll walk rain or shine. Also, feel free to bring a friend! By signing up, you accept and assume all risks and responsibilities with this activity, and nobody will be held liable.
Healing Racism
Healing Racism
Today's Meaningful Conversation explores the role of spirituality in eradicating and healing from the spiritual disease of racism. We will begin our exploration of this topic with a selection of passages from the Bahá’í Writings, which will help us consider the following questions: * How does a spiritual outlook on racism help us better understand and address this vital issue? * What changes in mind and heart will offer an effective antidote to racism? * How can each of us contribute to true and lasting healing and transformation? *“If in this day a soul shall act according to the precepts and the counsels of God, he will serve as a divine physician to mankind…”*

BreadBreakers Community Dinner: Dialogue Over Divisions
BreadBreakers Community Dinner: Dialogue Over Divisions
**In a time of division and isolation, come be part of the community that's rebuilding the town square, one table at a time.** In BreadBreakers, we use the common space of the dining table to have conversations where neighbors can **hear, be heard, and know one another.** If you're hungry for good conversation and deeper community, join us for a Community Dinner in Reston and help blaze the trail to a healthier, more connected society and democracy. Here’s how it works: For just two hours, multiple tables of people set aside the need to "win" and instead focus on sharing, listening, and connecting. Guided by experienced table hosts, we'll tell our stories, try to understand each other, and practice being in community with those with different views or backgrounds. **At this dinner, participants will get to choose between three different topics, including some current events.** Topics range from the political, to the "slice of life", to the spiritual, to the philosophical, to the off-the-wall - but no matter which table you choose to sit at, you can be sure it'll be like no dinner conversation you've had before! You can also **suggest a topic** by emailing us at BreadBreakersInfo@gmail.com. Food will be provided for free. For those who wish to provide a donation to help fund BreadBreakers, you can [give here](https://pushpay.com/g/restorationrestonumc?fnd=pO6G-N7oO7FH7Mp1u-x6mA&fndv=Lock&r=No&lang=en&src=pcgl) or at the event. We'll have vegetarian and gluten-free options available. If you have any additional dietary restrictions (Celiac Disease, vegan, etc.) please let us know at BreadBreakersInfo@gmail.com so that we can implement the appropriate food handling procedures. **Join us, invite a friend, and be a part of the movement to mend our fractured society and normalize a better way of talking with one another.** BreadBreakers, an initiative by [Restoration United Methodist Church](https://restorationreston.org/breadbreakers) in Reston, VA, is a religiously inclusive community. All faiths and all stripes are welcomed. Our leadership, volunteer team, and community include people who attend Restoration and people who don't.

Together we’ll share reflections, experiences, and ideas inspired by the themes of growth, renewal, and new beginnings. This is an open, welcoming conversation.
