TRIGGERED: Wasnât Woke DeadâŚ??
TOPIC: Wasnât Woke DeadâŚ??
I wise man once said: ânobody be complaining if they had casted Terry Crews as Hellen of TroyâŚâ
Samuel L. Jackson would be a great option in my humble opinionâŚ
TRIGGERED is a discussion group for the young and young at heart, with philosophy as its core but focussed towards recent events, culture, and political philosophy, with a pinch of actual politics.
Weâll discuss the selected topic as a group and probably move somewhere else for another drink to talk about anything else.
Some of the points weâll touch on:
* Briefly: What is woke?
* Netflix, Modern Hollywood and the Modern Audience.
* Case Study: Christopher Nolanâs The Odyssey.
* Influence of wokeness outside entertainment.
SoâŚ
* Has wokeness actually reached its peak?
If so, when did it do so?
* Do you go broke if you go woke?
* We might have won the war, but why doesnât it feel like victory?
* How to fix this landscape and move forward.

The Bar Nomads đ¤Šđš #1 Social Mixer in Prague

During peak hours, the room gets **TOTALLY MAGNETIC** and sometimes even beautifully chaotic. And to be honest, we love it exactly like this! Bar Nomads is all about pure social flow! âĄđĽ
If thatâs your vibe, drop the city masks and dive headfirst into our lovely Hoffa madness. Youâll leave feeling energized, deeply connected, and a little bit more like **a true Praguer.** đđ¤

Book Club: VĂĄclav Havel, The Power of the Powerless
On Saturday, 27th of June, weâre going to meet and discuss the *The Power of the Powerless* by VĂĄclav Havel, an influential book that has become a key text of dissident thought in communist Eastern Europe.
Written in 1978, Havelâs book explores how authoritarian systems sustain themselves not only through force, but through conformity, fear, and everyday participation in lies. What does it mean to âlive within the truthâ? Can ordinary people resist oppressive systems, even when they seem powerless? And what forms of responsibility do individuals bear in political life?
Although written under late socialism in Czechoslovakia, Havelâs reflections remain strikingly relevant today. How do ideology, bureaucracy, media, and social pressure shape our behaviour? Are modern societies immune to the dynamics Havel describes â or do they simply take different forms?
VĂĄclav Havel (1936â2011) was a Czech playwright, dissident, political thinker, and statesman. A leading figure of the democratic opposition during communist rule, he later became the last President of Czechoslovakia and the first President of the Czech Republic.
***
Anyone is welcome to join! Before the meeting, please read the book (itâs around 100 pages long), think about it, and note any passages you find especially interesting, challenging, or worth discussing. Weâll share our thoughts and interpretations during the meeting.

Solstice Sessions â Atlassian Insights & Midsummer Cheers
Midsummer Atlassian Nights: Governance, Users & Team '26 Fresh from Anaheim
June 25, 2026 ¡ 5:00â9:00 PM ¡ SentinelOne Office, Prague
Summer is almost here â and we're celebrating it the ACE Prague way: with sharp technical sessions, a live panel straight from Atlassian's biggest event of the year, and a midsummer beer garden to close out the evening.
Join us on June 25th for one of our most packed evenings yet. Two expert speakers. A panel discussion bringing Team '26 insights direct from Anaheim. And then â we head outside.
đ¤ Session 1: When Atlassian User Management Stops Being an Admin Problem BjĂśrn DĂśhler ¡ re:solution
Nobody wakes up excited about user management. And yet, again and again, it's the silent culprit behind some of the biggest headaches in modern organizations â exploding license costs, broken accountability, risky migrations, and decisions made without reliable data.
This session tells a story â or rather, several â about how these situations unfold in real life, what teams usually miss until it's too late, and how thinking differently about user management can change the outcome. No sales pitch. No "ten features in ten minutes." Just stories, lessons learned, and a glimpse of what becomes possible when user management stops being invisible.
đ¤ Session 2: From Zero to Hero â Data Governance Can Be Easy Hubert Kut ¡ AppForge.ai
Data governance sounds intimidating. It doesn't have to be.
Hubert will walk you through how to perform comprehensive health checks on your Jira instance, automate the cleaning process, and improve data quality â without it becoming a full-time job. You'll leave with actionable practices that make Jira management more straightforward, your system more performant, and your users a lot happier. Whether you're just starting out or looking to tighten up an already complex environment, this one's for you.
đŁď¸ Panel Discussion: Fresh from Team '26 â What Atlassian's Biggest Event Means for You
All three of us â BjĂśrn, Hubert, and your host Julia Skoursky â were in Anaheim in person for Team '26. Now we're bringing it back to Prague.
What actually happened? What announcements matter for admins, partners, and teams using Atlassian tools every day? What's coming, what surprised us, and what should you be preparing for? This panel is your shortcut to the highlights â unfiltered, first-hand, and with room for your questions.
đş Midsummer Beer Garden
When the sessions wrap, we're not done. We're heading outside to celebrate the longest days of the year the right way â cold drinks, good company, and the kind of conversations that only happen when the sun refuses to set.
This is your chance to keep the discussion going with speakers and fellow community members in a relaxed, informal setting. Midsummer only comes once a year. Make it count.

Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup
Jimmy V's Grill & Pub in Grandview Heights. You are responsible for your own meal/drinks. We usually don't have any agenda other than eat, drink and talk. :) If the weather is nice we will be on the back patio, otherwise we are in the cigar room.
This group has been meeting every Tuesday evening for over a decade. Many attendees do not RSVP on meetup. Please don't let the small number here discourage you. Anyone/everyone is welcome to come. We'd love to have you join us.
COTA bus #5 comes to W. 5th and Wyandotte Rd. And it's a minute walk to the restaurant.
Stalker
Based on the novel Roadside Picnic, it is NO picnic, but rather one of the masterpieces of world cinema. Andrei Tarkovsky's 1979 Soviet sci-fi classic, recounts the expedition of a writer and professor led by a mysterious guide called "The Stalker." to a futuristic wasteland called "The Zone." Dripping with existential dread, it continually presents strange occurrences that will have us debating the meaning of what we've just viewed right through the ending.
*Stalker* (1979) can be streamed for free on HBOMax, the Criterion Channel or Kanopy. It's also available for rent on Amazon Prime and AppleTV. The Columbus Library has two copies on disc.
Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you were quoted in *Truth in Comedy*, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**!
The idea behind improvised comedy is to create entire scenes from scratch. A suggestion is taken from the audience and laughter is built on the spot. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway, Make Some Noise,* or *Wild 'n Out*; it can also be done in a longer way, to tell a complicated story, like *TJ & Dave*.
Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and FREE!) weekly comedy event, brings the games for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Afterward, many members will hang out in *Gresso's* itself and get to know each other. Not only is this a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, your public speaking, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and build relationships that will last a lifetime, and you do that while laughing your butt off!
Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "*Yes, And*" that you'll have a blast!
Super Friday: SUPERGIRL at Cinemark Stoneridge!
Join us for an Opening Night showing of the super-hero action-adventure, SUPERGIRL! Get in early because this series is just getting started! Hot on the heels of last yearâs excellent SUPERMAN comes what should be another fun adventure! Hereâs a description, trailer and plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, joins forces with an unlikely companion on an interstellar journey of vengeance and justice when an unexpected adversary strikes too close to home. The film is directed by Craig Gillespie, written by Ana Nogueira, and stars Milly Alcock, Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, David Corenswet and Jason Momoa.
TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1-pfiVMKAs
MOVIE PLAN: Please purchase your ticket for the 7:00pm showing and meet in the lobby area between 6:40 and 6:50pm! Itâs in their largest theater on their biggest screen but advance ticket purchase is advised for this Opening Night showing! Once you have yours, please list your seat number in the Comments below.
DINNER PLAN: For this event, weâll go meet for a pre-show bite at nearby EL VAQUERO! If youâd like to join for dinner, please arrive at 5:15pm and ask for the Movie Group!
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain youâll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1 week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to those volunteering at this (or any of our previous or future) CMG Gives Back events!
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
