Reading Club is a low stress literature gathering that meets every other Monday evening. We read through through a short short or essay at the meeting and then discuss it. Add Ryan (WechatID: texaswriter) to join our wechat and find out what text is being discussed next. I don't keep Meetup very up to date and everything Inkwell does is organized through its wechat groups, so even if the number of attendees on meetup is low, there's likely an event still going on. Join Inkwell as they lead the workshop through a series of creative nonfiction exercises and workshops. They focus on anything from travel writing to memoir. If you're interested in joining, you'll need to join our wechat chat group to let us know if you're lost on your way to the meeting. You can wechat me at texaswriter, and I can get you added. I also encourage you to scan the QR code above to join our official wechat channel. You also don't have to submit. Readers are always welcome, but I do find that reading before meeting greasy increases the joy of going to meeting. No experience required. We are a mixed group in terms of experience, backgrounds, and languages, but I find that we are also very supportive of each other in everything from goals to reading to publishing. In addition to the standard workshop, Inkwell hosts two writing retreats a year, puts forward a team for the three day novel writing competition, hosts a reading series called Shanghai Voices, and puts together an ebook anthology of work at the end of every year. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: CHAMPION FOOD PANTRY: The Champion Food Pantry provides needed food to neighbors experiencing food insecurity. For this event, we’ll be volunteering to help with Food Distribution during client pick up times. Our group will receive on-the-spot training from some of their seasoned regular volunteers. See if it’s true for you at noon on Sundays. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
