Join & Play Session ! Thursday 2 july 2026
Our traditional "Join & Play" event is now on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursdays of each month. As always, it's free to come & play with us.
How does it work ?
โข The events are open for beginner to advanced gamers. If you're new here they're the perfect gateway to discover what we do!
โข Those who want to host a game are asked to share in the comments below which game, & for how many players you can run your table.
โข For others, if you see a game you'd like to join just respond to the host in the comments below and we'll reserve a spot for that game for you.
โข Don't worry if you're new to boardgames or simply don't know the games being hosted this time around; you can simply show up and the event host will sort out a spot at a table for you! **But please make sure to arrive by 19h30 *at the latest* so we can take the time to find you a suitable spot.**
โข The rules for the games will be explained by the table host before the game starts. No need to study them upfront, although several hosts post a video link to rules or background which can enhance your enjoyment of the game if you have the time to watch beforehand. This is never mandatory, however.
***Please note, ALL attendees must have their MeetUp message function turned on, in case of problems leading up to the event itself. Failure to do so will mean they will be removed in favour of those on the Waitlist.***
***This event is free*** *but takes place in a gaming cafe, the Outpost. As in any place of this type*\*, bringing food and drinks from the outside is not allowed, and you're expected to order something during the evening.
***All your hosts are doing that with passion for free, with their own games, players have to respect and be nice with the others players. Respect, courtesy and fairplay are asked around the table. Have fun.***
Attitude is everything, Pick a good one.

Silent Walk in the Forรชt de Soignes
We will be walking through the forest for a little over 1 1/2 hours, silently, just noticing the world around us and inside us. The idea is to experience the magic of a different type of walking, The invitation is to slow down and notice what is going on inside you and around you.
Very often people experience a closer connection with nature and with self, with sometimes surprising insights.
*Please make sure you are fit enough to go the 4.5 km distance. We will be walking slowly, but we will not take any breaks.*
We will be meeting at the Hermann Debroux Metro at **14h**. (Exit straight ahead after leaving the platform--on the Loxam side).
If you RSVP as coming, please be on time. We will be starting our walk from there 5 min. after the hour sharp.
There is the renovated Maison de Prieur at the exit of the forest where we could gather for a drink or a meal after our walk, depending on what you feel like.
Looking forward to an inward adventure? Come and join us on **Saturday, July 4, at 14h**
My phone number is 0472 92 11 76, in case you need to communicate with me.

COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 โ 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process.
Fast track
โข Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell).
โข Show up and try it out.
โข Complete application, etc. later.
Normal process
โข Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/).
โข Attend orientation in advance.
โข At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility.
โข Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM.
โข Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895).
The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.

CMG Gives Back: Serve Dinner at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, weโll help โCreate a better worldโ by helping serve those in need. NOTE: Weโre switching it up this time and going with a DINNER shift on Mon, 7/6. Here are complete details and our plan for this event:
FAITH MISSION โ GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces.
PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for DINNER from 4:30 to 6:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 4:20pm and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
LOCATION: Faith Mission โ Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking are available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details:
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain youโll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1 week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to those volunteering at this (or any of our previous or future) CMG Gives Back events!
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
