In this session, you will learn various exercises aimed at enhancing physical strength, flexibility, and vitality.

Intervals Workout Session ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐ป Hippodrome de Boitsfort
We do cycles of 4-6 weeks, with a progressive intensity, and the last session is lighter.
Program:
15โ warm up
**To be defined**
Cool down to get back to the starting pointโฆ or more
S=All out sprint
RF = Run fast, at MAS (Maximum aerobic speed)
CF = Run comfortably fast (1h threshold)
J = Jog, recuperation
Notes:
It should take about one hour in total, as the cool down will end when we reach back to the meeting point.
It's NOT required to have an activity tracker or smart watch to be able to follow the program, as I'll be giving signals with a whistle.
For the "run" part, you can follow your own pace and we'll be regrouping in the "jog" part.
Intervals training is not advised for total beginners. To have an idea, the average pace at the warm up is around 5'45"/km-6'/km so this pace should feel very comfortable

Dance improv workshops: Somatic floorwork & partnering
These workshops are open to anyone interested in exploring movement as a way to deepen body awareness, improve mobility and enjoy dancing in connection with others. The workshops offer an original blend of dance practices, combining contemporary dance, elements of Body-Mind Centeringยฎ, relaxation and mindfulness techniques,as well as capoeira, and a pinch of partnered styles such as forrรณ, tango, and fusion dance.
13:50 โ Doors open
14:00 โ**Workshop 1: Floor Creatures**
Step into a playful floorwork journey inspired by developmental movement patterns and somatic improvisation (drawing from Body-Mind Centering). Through rolling, sliding, crawling, spiraling, and yielding to the floor, weโll rediscover the bodyโs natural movement intelligence in a relaxed and creative atmosphere. Expect guided improvisations, imaginative movement scores, and a grounding experience where the floor becomes your dance partner.
15:20 โ Break and refreshments
15:40 โ **Workshop 2: Built on trust: partnered communication in dance**
This workshop returns by popular request.
Together we will explore practical tools for communication in partnered dance through touch, breath, shared weight, eye contact, and movement improvisation. Focusing on listening rather than anticipating, we will practice giving and receiving clear physical invitations, respecting boundaries, and developing trust through attentive movement.
Working in pairs, trios, and group exercises, we will explore responsiveness, presence, adaptability, and support โ essential elements for moving together with care and confidence.
Open to both newcomers and returning participants.

COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 โ 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process.
Fast track
โข Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell).
โข Show up and try it out.
โข Complete application, etc. later.
Normal process
โข Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/).
โข Attend orientation in advance.
โข At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility.
โข Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM.
โข Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895).
The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
Sunday funday: let's play dodgeball at Scioto Audubon park
Dodgeball is back again!
If youโve been wanting to come out, this is an easy one to join. Weโll be playing for about 1.5 to 2 hours, you do not need to bring any equipment, and no experience is needed.
We use a specific set of rules and equipment to make the games run better and keep them fun for everybody, not just people who already know how to play.
If it rains, the event will be canceled.
