Wim Hof Method
It's better when we're together. Come and experience the power of the WHM with a wonderful group of people. We breathe, we go into the cold and we teach our bodies to heat up properly. We develop resilience and the mindset to use these powerful healing tools over and over again, all year round. This gathering is fully guided by Wim Hof instructor Steve Beattie.
If you are new to this, come on down, enjoy the support and practice in a safe way with us. If you already have a WHM practice this meetup is a great way to take it to the next level, and make lots of new friends.
There will be a fire, snacks and drinks shared by other attendees. We have been doing this 6 for years!

Mob Programming at Mofer Coffee
Let’s do some coding together at a cafe! No more working alone in the weekend. Here, we write code together. And I mean together together. Not occupying-the-same-space-but-separate together.
Here’s how it works: Jennifer brings her mobile app project, tells everyone that it is like Pinterest for recipes and she’d like to work on the nav bar. Paul and Chloe think Jennifer's project is fascinating, and they join the group. They gather around Jennifer’s laptop and work on the nav bar for 2 hours. Jennifer is the one typing out the code while Paul and Chloe research, brainstorm, and offer suggestions.
If you’re feeling stuck on your own project or need a motivation boost, bring it to mob programming!
Want to learn by watching how others code and solve problems? Join someone else’s project at this event!
Oh and we love your half-done projects that you are a bit embarrassed to share. Absolutely bring those to the event!
**Discord**:
We use Discord to share screen & code snippets during the event. Also feel free to share your projects here before the event!
https://discord.gg/xwjDdVSw3E
**Event policy**:
* We have 0 tolerance for harassment.
* We don’t allow the projects that are not meant to be shared in public such as school assignments, interview tasks, or trade secrets.
* The goal is to write code. We discourage you from pitching business ideas here, doing code reviews, or spending the whole event on planning what to do.
* Please buy a drink, and tip the barista well.

Hello Hikers (and those currently questioning our identity),
This coming Sunday, May 10th, we are trading our vertical inclines for horizontal velocity. We’re "walking" more than "hiking." What’s up with that, you ask? Think of it as a strategic recovery mission at a brisk pace.
We’re tackling the Leslie St. Spit, formally known as Tommy Thompson Park. Fun fact: Tommy is world-renowned for the phrase “Please Walk on the Grass,” so feel free to rebel by staying on the path—or don’t. He’d want you to live your best life.
**The Mission**
This is a classic 11 km out-and-back journey to the lighthouse. It’s paved, level, and straighter than a ruler, with unpaved "finger trails" for those who have an itch for the scenic route.
Navigation Warning: It is virtually impossible to get lost unless you decide to swim to St. Catharines or the Island Airport. If you plan on stowing away in the cargo hold of a jet to the Caribbean, please let me know by the 5 km mark so we don’t count you as "missing."
**The Scenery**
Far from a boring stroll, the views are spectacular—pure "Kodak moment" territory for the shutterbugs among us. As a nature reserve, the park is teeming with locals, including Marty the Mink. You’ll have Lake Ontario on one side and the iconic Toronto skyline on the other. It’s basically a 360-degree flex.
**The Details**
Runners: You are more than welcome to "Run, Forrest, Run" ahead of us. Trail runners are a solid choice if you want to explore the grit.
Meeting Time: 10:00 AM sharp at the park entrance.
Cost: $0.00. Free parking, free entrance, priceless memories.
Transport: Carpooling is available for those who prefer to be chauffeured in style. "Champagne wishes and caviar dreams" (though you’ll have to provide your own Grey Poupon).
Supplies: Bring water and lunch. Marty the Mink does not share his snacks.
**Location**: 1-3 Leslie St. Toronto, ON M4M 3M9
The views for this walk are truly unbe-leaf-able. (Sorry, I had to).
Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!

\- We are not a close knit tight group\. Our evenings are warm and comfortable for members attending for the first time and those coming alone\. You will not feel alone\!
\- We have many groups in this city\. Members of our other groups who RSVP are included as guests of the organisers in order to give you an indication of expected people\.
\- This evening is for ladies and gents in the 21 to 40 age group\. While some will be at the younger end of this range there will also be others at the other end of the range and lots in\-between\! You will naturally gel with others of your own age range and so you will always find many attendees who fit your range\.
\- We are not a 'dating' group\. We are focused on helping ladies and gents meet other like minded ladies and gents\. You will generally find a good gender balance \(maybe not perfect\) at all our events\.
**Why do we have tickets?**
1. Cover our costs - Our host is compensated for their time and work. We also pay meetup and have dedicated staff to manage our events, hosts, venues and communication.
2. Group Safety - By securing your ticket we have a record and you contribute to a well organized evening where everyone is more committed and better behaved.
3. Management - Tickets help us better manage attendee group size, book suitable space and activity.

Hybrid MI Python: Monthly Talk
**Talk Description**
Coming soon
**Agenda:**
7:00pm - Opening announcements
7:10pm - Main Topic
7:50pm - Q&A
LLM Showdown: ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini vs Local Models
Join us for a practical, beginner-friendly guide to choosing the right large language model. We’ll compare major models like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Llama, talk about when to use hosted APIs versus local models, and break down the tradeoffs around cost, speed, quality, privacy, context windows, coding ability, and reliability.
You’ll leave with a clearer mental model for picking an LLM based on your actual use case instead of hype, benchmarks, or brand names. No deep AI background required.
LOGISTICS AND PARKING:
The talk starts at 7:00 PM. The first half hour is reserved for everyone to get set up and mingle. Free pizza and drinks!
The cheapest parking option is to find street parking, which will only cost you a few bucks. Otherwise, park in the nearby veteran's museum lot for $8. It's highly recommended you avoid the nearby $15 garage parking.
