Creative Conversations and Connections
This is a space for us to gather for an afternoon of flow, reflection, and creative kinship.
Bring along a past, ongoing or future creative project or artwork or idea to introduce yourself with. A sculpture, a tapestry, a poem, a song, a performance, a dance, a video. Something you'd like to share with others, something meaningful to you, or something you have questions about. It does not have to be completed- it can even be a small collection of inspirations you've been pondering over.
Weâll spend time creating together while having conversations about any questions or thoughts we might have about our intentions, inspirations, aspirations, anxieties, challenges, celebrations and struggles in relation to our creative identities and journeys.
This is not a workshop or art therapy, just a community space for people who value creating.
All forms of making and all levels are welcome â just come as you are. Bring your journal or any materials that support your practice. Art supplies will be provided.
Coffee for creatives in Oakleigh
This is a coffee meetup for creative people to share/talk about their current projects. Whether it's writing, a website, art, starting a business, knitting/crafts or anything at all creative (be creative with the descriptor 'creative'), come along and share your progress with other like-minded people.
This cafe requires a credit card for booking so I'm just going to show up and grab a table. I'll be waiting out the front of Caffe Greco at 1pm.

From Web Forms to Web Components - Burton Smith
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
**Abstract**
Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively.
This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. Weâll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from serverâdriven controls, and why theyâre becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether youâre maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, youâll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standardsâbased way.

# â FAQs
â**Do all ideas have a chance at getting funded?**
ââNot all ideas will move forward after initial pitches on Saturday. Once pitches are complete, weâll vote for top ideas and form teams around the 4 â 7 ideas with the most votes. You must recruit **at least four total team members** (including the founder) to move forward and have a chance at getting funded on Sunday. If your idea doesnât move forward, you can join another team!
ââ**Do I have to submit my idea online prior to the event?**
ââUnlike previous years, we donât have the option to submit your idea online prior to the event. Instead, everyone will be going through a brainstorming exercise on Saturday thatâll help you prepare for your initial pitch.
ââ**Will we be working for 24 hours straight?**
ââNope. The event is split over two days. Youâll be building on Saturday and pitching on Sunday.
ââ**Do I have to pitch an idea?**
ââNope. You can also simply join a team.
ââ**What types of entrepreneurs does GBH support?**
ââWhile GBH most often works with technology startups, we support *any* organization (for- or non-profit) that makes an impact on health in the US or across the world.

Fun & easy way to play more tennis (read event description)
Weâre still working to get more people into these Meetups, but our goal is to give PlayYourCourt members a few social tennis outings each week in addition to your practice sessions and Challenge League matches.
These Meetups are co-ed, super laid back, and all skill levels are welcome. Post your skill level and a suggested court in the comments section so we can round up as many players as we can for some tennis fun!
Also, if youâre looking to meet new practice partners or play some matches and you arenât already in the PlayYourCourt Community, you can go here to see what weâre all about and sign up:
https://www.playyourcourt.com/tennis-community/columbus-oh/meetup/
If you love tennis, weâd love to have you! Be sure and watch the quick video that explains how everything works.
Happy hitting!
