Afterwork session: Rebirth
Let's play in the "new" Scotland at REBIRTH.
https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/417197/rebirth
"*Following a series of calamities that left civilization in shambles, societies around the world are being rebuilt anew in harmony with nature. Scotland lies in ruins and the ancient clans have taken it upon themselves to restore the land. As clan leaders you will compete for strategic control of the land by rebuilding its prestigious castles.*
***Rebirth*** is a new tile-laying game from Reiner Knizia. The game revitalizes this classic genre by combining Knizia’s elegant mechanics with Mighty Boards’ evocative world building. The result is a eurogame with smooth gameplay, set in a lush and hopeful future.
Each turn, players draw a tile from their supply and place it strategically on the board. These tiles represent your clan’s contribution to rebuilding the land. ***Rebirth*** rewards strategic foresight and clever tactical play, with tougher decisions emerging over the course of the game."

Day-off session: Multiple games
14th May is a holiday ! So why not having a full afternoon of gaming there on that day ? If you feel likewise, then join this event!
Unlike most of our events, this is a more improvised one : some attendees bring their games, and we decide on the spot what we'll play. You may also post your ideas of what you want to bring/play in the comments, to gauge interest among the participants.
Outpost opens at 11:30, so you may come from that time, but you can also come a bit later if you wish.
**Please RSVP to this event if you wish to come**. Do not come without having done so. It makes it easier to plan that way.
Although you can arrive at any time, **please post your estimated time of arrival in the comments**. It will make it easier to organise the tables that way.
**Don't forget to unsubscribe from the event if you aren't able to come.** Someone else might take your place in that case. Don't block it if you don't come.
Board Game Fun Night @ Hal5 in Kessel-Lo
1. **Always RSVP before attending.**
2. **Limited spots:** RSVP does not guarantee a spot — please check if you're on the main list or the waitlist.
3. **WAITLIST notice:** Please don’t take a spot from someone who signed up in time — only attend if you’re off the waitlist. You may move to the active list if someone cancels, which can happen the day before or even on the day of game night.
4. **Be on time:** If you’re more than 20–25 minutes late, you likely can’t join a table — we won’t restart game explanations for latecomers. You may wait for the next game.
5. **Take care of the games:** The people hosting the evening kindly bring and share their own private — and often quite expensive — games. Please don’t bend the cards (these aren’t just cheap poker decks!), be gentle with the components, and make sure everything goes back neatly in the box.
6. **Be present, not on your phone:** Please give your attention when someone is explaining the rules — especially the person hosting the game, who took the time to prepare and make sure everyone can enjoy it. This is a game night, not just a casual bar hangout, so please respect their effort and the focus of the other players.
7. **No double booking:** On Wednesdays, another game night is organized at the same time by another group, the International House of Leuven (IHL). If you sign up for both events, we will automatically remove you from our list. Please don’t be rude by occupying a spot that someone else could use — respect both communities and let everyone enjoy a fair chance to join.
Fun social interactions games @ Carpe Diem (TBC)
**🃏 WHAT WE PLAY**
We focus on **social interaction games** that are **fun, easy to learn, and engaging**.
* **Thursdays** and Saturday nights are for **fun, social games** like Dixit, Coup, Skull, Codenames, Colt Express, Secret Hitler, Exploding Kittens, Bang and more!… Easy to learn, quick to laugh!
* **Mondays** are for **deeper strategic games**, for players who love to plan and outthink opponents.
Of course, these are just guidelines — you’re always welcome to bring and play whatever game you love!
***
**🕖 SCHEDULE**
* We meet at **7:00 PM**, with an **intro round at 7:15 PM**.
* Arriving later? No problem! Just see a host — we’ll do our best to find you a seat. You might need to wait for a game to finish before joining the next one.
**🎉 Good News! BFG is Free Again**
As of July 1st, 2025, BFG is once again **free to join**, just like last year!
The costs of running the group are now shared by the hosts. If you enjoy the events and want to say thanks, you're very welcome to **offer a drink (or two 😉) to a host** during the evening.
A huge thank you to everyone who supported us financially earlier this year — you helped keep the group going, and we truly appreciate it. 🙏
***
**🎒 WHAT TO BRING**
* Bring your favorite games and feel free to mention them in the comments.
* If we’re meeting in a **park**, bring snacks, drinks, and something comfy to sit on — the grass can be damp even in summer!
***
**☕ IF THE VENUE IS A CAFÉ**
Please order **at least one drink** to support the venue, and pay directly at the bar.
***
**✅ REGISTRATION**
Please RSVP to help us plan for space and group sizes.

Day off session: Imperial Elegy
***Imperial Elegy: The Road to the Great War 1850-1920*** is a Strategic level multi-player card-driven board-wargame that blends diplomacy, warfare, and statecraft. Players take control of one of six unique major powers in the game: Germany/Prussia, the United Kingdom, France, Austria / Austria-Hungary, Russia and the Ottoman Empire.
*IE* takes place over 7 turns, with each turn representing a decade.
If a GW occurs, the game can be extended by, at most, 6 additional shorter GW turns.
A turn consists of numerous player impulses, during which players play action cards for their CP or events. Players will use CP and events to colonize, conduct diplomacy, fight wars, as well as hinder their opponents.
A turn is over once all players have consecutively passed or when all players are out of cards.
Players take on the role of either Germany/ Prussia, the United Kingdom, France, Austria/Austria-Hungary, Russia, or the Ottoman Empire.
Italy, should it unify, is not controlled directly by a player and instead interacts with the game using special rules.
Players can win by fulfilling their individual National Goals and scoring Victory Points. But if the Great War occurs, the victory conditions change.
In addition to this, a game can end in an Auto-Victory if a player takes control of a certain number of territorial keys.
