1. **Always RSVP before attending.** 2. **Limited spots:** RSVP does not guarantee a spot — please check if you're on the main list or the waitlist. 3. **WAITLIST notice:** Please don’t take a spot from someone who signed up in time — only attend if you’re off the waitlist. You may move to the active list if someone cancels, which can happen the day before or even on the day of game night. 4. **Be on time:** If you’re more than 20–25 minutes late, you likely can’t join a table — we won’t restart game explanations for latecomers. You may wait for the next game. 5. **Take care of the games:** The people hosting the evening kindly bring and share their own private — and often quite expensive — games. Please don’t bend the cards (these aren’t just cheap poker decks!), be gentle with the components, and make sure everything goes back neatly in the box. 6. **Be present, not on your phone:** Please give your attention when someone is explaining the rules — especially the person hosting the game, who took the time to prepare and make sure everyone can enjoy it. This is a game night, not just a casual bar hangout, so please respect their effort and the focus of the other players. 7. **No double booking:** On Wednesdays, another game night is organized at the same time by another group, the International House of Leuven (IHL). If you sign up for both events, we will automatically remove you from our list. Please don’t be rude by occupying a spot that someone else could use — respect both communities and let everyone enjoy a fair chance to join.

Welcome to our card games night. We will play on Wednesday from 19h-21h at CHEZWaWa Châtelain, a small restaurant. The address is Rue Américaine 91, 1050 Brussels. (Be careful, there also is another CHEZWaWa restaurant.) Please arrive on time. Feel free to call Bruno if you need directions or have questions at +32 485 298 713. We'll bring a selection of games, and you are welcome to bring any of your own. The restaurant serves delicious Mexican-Californian food you might wanna try. It will be available until 20h30. Our group gets a 10% discount on food. We encourage you to have at least a drink, it helps to keep the business running ;) If you like, you can also come a bit earlier for a chat or a snack. Whether you've never touched a board game in your life or you're a complex Euro aficionado, you'll definitely find like-minded people to share your evening with. Depending on the mood and the attendees, you might find yourself in a big group trying to cobble together word meanings from obscure clues in Codenames, engaging in an intense duel in 7 Wonders: Duel, struggling to build the perfect deck in Dominion, or diving into the mechanics of Brass: Birmingham for the first time. We’ll provide a variety of games from our collection to ensure everyone has something to play, but don’t hesitate to bring your own games if you're ready to teach them! If you’re new to Leuven, board games are a great way to meet new people, share enjoyable moments, and engage in a fulfilling activity. Don’t be afraid to register! The event starts at 7 PM at International House Leuven. and happens every first and third Thursday of the month! You can find all the event dates on meetup. # About the volunteers ## Morgane seriously got into board games in 2020, lacking a big group, she started to build her own collection out of mostly two player games. She enjoys complex euro games with deep mechanics, fun social games and a lot in between! ## Thomas has been living in Leuven for four years and has frequently attended events organized by IHL. After spending this time as a participant, he finally decided to start organizing events centered around his hobbies, particularly board games. A passionate enthusiast, Thomas enjoys all types of board games and often hosts gatherings at his home. Pez, originally from the UK, is a digital nomad who settled in Leuven after several years of full time travel. He’s been here since 2020, and loves hosting events and activities for friends, family and people in town. At the weekend you’re likely to find him playing board games, hosting a gathering of friends, planning for his non-profit camping festival, or off exploring somewhere

**First time comers** Please make sure to read the rules and contact the organizer before! Otherwise you will be moved to waiting list. Apologies for inconvenience but we have to do it to avoid no-shows. **Games format.** 95% are double games (unless someone needs a break), typically 4 people play together 2 sets and then mix with players from other fields. We play with plastic shuttles - Yonex Mavis 2000 (which are provided). **Registration** If it's your first time, please send a private message to the host to confirm. No-shows are taken quite seriously because they unbalance the games a lot. Also once you register please keep an eye on you private messages, in case we need to contact you. **Players level** Having players with much less experience often unbalances the game making it much less interesting for more experienced players. We still try to be welcoming. As a rule of thumb, if you know what a "clear" is, you are welcome to join. (Note that on Sundays the attitude is a bit more relaxed than on Wednesdays, it's the weekend after all ;) ) Otherwise, feel free to get in touch with me (Timur) and we can see if we can arrange so you and existing players can have good experience playing. **Price and payments** The price of participation is EUR 8.95. Payment is on-site in cash, or via payconiq. Info provided during or shortly after the event. **Cancelations and no-shows** * Switches and cancellations are free of charge if done more than 50 hours before the start of the matches * If you cancel within the 50-hour window before the event starts, you will be placed on the wait-list for the next week's event, whether or not a replacement is found. If no replacement is secured, you'll still need to cover your share of the costs.

You can now join us for some friendly Badminton games on Wednesdays too! All levels welcome! IMPORTANT: in order to secure your place you’ll need to both book a spot on Meetup AND pay €8 by Sunday 18h00. This is to make sure we can cancel courts if demand isn’t there, and make sure we’re being fair to people on the waiting list.
