Living Diversity - Nonviolent Communication weekly course in English in ZĂŒrich
\>\>\>\>\>\>\> All Info and registration here: https://interbeing\.ch/living\-diversity/
**â *Understand our differences and connect in conflict* â**
In this course, we explore together how we can be with each other in our differences. We learn how to communicate more effectively with our loved ones, colleagues and even with people who share opposite opinions.
* How can I feel understood, even when you see things differently?
* How can I connect with people who think, feel, or live differently from me?
* How to navigate conflict without losing myself or the other?
* How to meet diversity with curiosity instead of fear?
Before connecting with others, we get to know ourselves: Find out what is behind our triggers and judgments, identify our feelings and needs. This inner clarity strengthens our self empowerment and the ability to meet others on eye level instead of betraying ourself, giving up our wishes, or dominating the conversation. We learn to better understand each other in our differences and invite cooperation.
We explore movements beyond polarizing debates, while staying true to ourselves, so we can belong a bit more rather than merely fit in.
## We research how to:
* Listen more deeply to ourself and gain inner clarity about our needs and what really matters to us
* Realise when we need self care before connecting with others
* Find inner clarity when weâre triggered
* Stand honestly for our needs, express our wishes and invite cooperation
* Grow capacity in understanding other viewpoints
* See the beautiful messages behind our judgments and the judgments of others
* Be in conflict with care and connection
**Facilitation Style:**
During each session, we offer theoretical input, live demonstrations, group discussions, and two to three guided exercises.
We share insights and tips inspired by Nonviolent Communication (NVC) by [Yoram Mosenzon](https://www.connecting2life.net/trainer/yoram-mosenzon/) and Marshall Rosenberg. But foremost we invite you to find your own way. To develop your own communication style with your inner parts and your fellow humans.
Part of the sessions will be shaped by the wishes and interests of the group. We might offer themed evenings that dive deeper into specific areas of diversity where staying connected can be difficult (such as race, gender, sexual orientation, neurodivergence, mental health, illness and disability, diet, relationship styles, cultural background, political views, and our ways of relating to money and consumption,âŠ) or explore more depth some conflict situation. Youâre warmly invited to bring your personal situations so we can work with concrete, lived experiences.

From Coupons to Clicks: Recommender Systems at Migros & Digitec Galaxus
The **Digitec Galaxus Product Development Meet-Up** is back â this time diving into **recommender systems** with two talks bridging data science and engineering practice.
**Talk 1: Insights from Building and Operating a Recommender System for Migros Supermarkets**
*Max Nolte â Data Scientist & Team Lead at Supermarkt IT, Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund*
When you think of a Migros supermarket, you don't usually think about recommender systems. Over the past four years, my team and I have built and operated the engine behind personalized Cumulus coupons and a few other digital touchpoints. I'll share how it works, why we invest in it at a brickâandâmortar retailer, and what we've learned, covering data, models, measurement, and the practical realities of running it day to day.
**Talk 2: Recommendations at Digitec Galaxus â From Data Science to Engineering Practice**
*Michael Weiss, Senior Software Engineer & Robert Rosenbach, Senior Data Scientist â Digitec Galaxus*
How do you go from a promising model to a recommender system that is fast, scalable, and maintainable in production? We will walk through the Digitec Galaxus recommendation stack end to end: the engineering architecture that keeps recommendations snappy and reliable, and the data-science side of model training â what to optimize for, which input signals matter, and the trade-offs involved in both.
The two presentations will take roughly a combined hour, leaving plenty of time for discussions, questions, and exchange afterwards over drinks and snacks. Whether you come from a software engineering, data science, product, or any other background â we'd love to have you join us!
Learn how to build your own AI Assistant
PLEASE PURCHASE **CHF 59 (early bird)** TICKET VIA [LUMA](https://luma.com/rii1rycb).
Most AI workshops show you slides. This one gives you something to take home.
âIn 2-3 hours you'll build a personal AI assistant that actually knows how you work: what drains you, how you prioritise, what you keep forgetting. No coding. No fluff. Just your laptop and one problem you wish would solve itself.
âYou leave with something working. Tonight.
â**What to expect:** You'll learn how to build your own AI assistant using Claude and taking advantage of Claude skills and MCP connectors. All whilst you get to sip on your Aperol (or San Bitter as an alcohol-free alternative).
**What to bring** A Claude account (free plan works). Claude Pro recommended if you want to go further on the night.
â**Works even better if you use one of these:** Notion, Asana, Linear, Jira, Google Drive, Gmail, Slack, ClickUp, [Monday.com](https://monday.com/). Claude connects directly to all of them, so your assistant can see your actual tasks without you pasting anything.
**In Hottingen, Zurich, detailed location will be revealed after ticket purchase via [luma](https://luma.com/rii1rycb).**
âDon't use any of these? No problem, you'll still build something that works.

Hi everyone â I'm Michael from **Digitec Galaxus**, where I'm responsible for the integration of recommender systems. Together with my colleagues at Digitec Galaxus' recommendations team, weâve recently taken over the **Zurich Recommendation Systems** meet-up group and consider reviving it as a regular series.
To kick things off, we're joining forces with the **Digitec Galaxus Product Development Meet-Up** for an evening on recommender systems in practice. We will present two talks:
* **Max Nolte (Migros Genossenschaftsbund)**, amongst other things, on four years of building and operating the engine behind personalized Cumulus coupons â covering data, models, measurement, and the practical realities of running it day to day at a brick-and-mortar retailer.
* **Michael Weiss and Robert Rosenbach (Digitec Galaxus)** on the full recommendation stack in Switzerlands leading e-commerce platform â from the engineering architecture that keeps things fast, scalable, and maintainable, to insights from model training: what to optimize for and which inputs matter the most.
Each presentation will take roughly 30 minutes, including questions, leaving plenty of time for discussion and exchange afterwards. To participate, please sign up for the events in both groups:
* **Digitec Galaxus Product Development Meet-Up** â Primary organizer: This is the sign-up that counts, and youâll also find a more comprehensive announcement of the talks there ;-) [https://www.meetup.com/digitec-galaxus-zuerich/events/313707996](https://www.meetup.com/digitec-galaxus-zuerich/events/313707996)

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Prompt vs. Paintbrush
AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machineâs?
This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation?
We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee.
Whether youâre deep in the field or just getting curious, come connect with others building and exploring AI in Columbus.

**Abstract**
GitHub Copilot is powerful, but what if you could scale from a solo AI assistant to an entire team of specialized agents working in parallel? This session introduces Squad: an open-source framework for multi-agent orchestration that lets you define teams of AI agents with specific roles, responsibilities, and expertise.
We'll progress from Copilot basics to the Copilot CLI, explore how Agents add autonomy, and see how Instructions and Skills let you customize agent behavior. Then, the climax: a live demo where a Squad team of 3 agents (Lead, Developer, Tester) stands up and builds a working application in real-time, showcasing true multi-agent collaboration.
Whether you're new to AI or exploring how to scale your use of Copilot, this session will show you what's possible when agents work as a team.

Data & Analytics Wednesday - The Data-Driven Brand
**The Data-Driven Brand: Using Analytics to Shape Perception**
Can you use analytics to improve tacos? This being CBUSDAW, we think the answer is probably âyesâ, but weâre not sure how to implement or test this theory.
For our April meetup weâve got Sara Kear, CMO of Condado Tacos, to investigate this delicious question. Sara will explore how she blends quantitative data and qualitative customer feedback to shape brand positioning and drive business decisions. We all know that marketing and analytics go way beyond attribution. Sara will show how Condado uses customer insights to inform product and pricing strategy.
Sheâll also highlight how Condado leverages customer feedback at scale to influence operational priorities, positioning marketing as the voice of the customer across the organization. In the last 12 years Condado has gone from one location in Columbus to 52 locations across 10 states, so weâre guessing thereâs more to that growth than really good guac (though the guac probably helps).
Ultimately, this talk focuses on the intersection of art and scienceâusing data to inform creativity and build a brand that resonates with customers in a measurable way.
**About Our Speaker**
Sara Kear is Chief Marketing Officer at Condado Tacos, where she oversees brand, restaurant design, menu and pricing strategy, off-premise including catering, and customer data strategy. Since joining in 2021, she has helped grow the brand from 19 to 52 locations while building a data-driven marketing organization focused on loyalty and customer insights. Condado has since been named to the Inc. 5000, recognized as Breakout Retailer by Chain Store Age, and consistently ranked among FastCasualâs Top 100 Movers & Shakers.

CBusData: The Fellowship of the Star Schema: Transforming OLTP Data for Power BI
The Fellowship of the Star Schema: Transforming OLTP Data for Power BI
One does not simply build reports on OLTP data. Join us on an epic journey from the depths of raw, normalized tables to the shining halls of a well-modeled star schema fit for Power BI greatness. We will demystify the differences between OLTP and OLAP, walk through star schema vs snowflake (and why Power BI has a clear favorite), and show you the compression differences between normalized and columnar storage that will make you never look at an OLTP model the same way again.
We will cover the different types of dimensions, when to use them, and how to handle Slowly Changing Dimensions without losing your mind. You will leave knowing exactly how to identify a bad model, how to convert OLTP data into a clean star schema, and how to forge relationships that rule them all.
Whether you are a data wizard, a curious hobbit, or somewhere in between, your models will never be the same.
