Shuffle/Cutting Shapes Class
This is a **shuffle**/**cutting shapes** class for beginner and intermediate shufflers where we'll learn a 16-count choreo.
**Beginner shufflers** will get the chance to learn some basic steps and practice them stress-free in a short choreo to various speeds.
**Intermediate shufflers** will learn to vary these basic steps with additional leg and arm movements, learn to combine them in new ways, keep practicing their foundations, and try to integrate the new combos into their freestyle.
If you're a complete beginner and wanna try some basic moves by yourself before the class, you can watch this video on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xOAJA598uk But you don't have to - don't worry and come just by!
**What you need to bring with you:**
**Shoes**: If you'd prefer not to shuffle in socks, please bring a pair of dedicated clean athletic shoes with white soles.
**Water**: because Shuffling is like an intense cardio workout :)
**Fee**: 10โฌ (in cash or paypal after the event) to cover the cost of the rent, because we're not doing it for profit.

Gentle Flow & Sound Bath
This nourishing 60-minute session blends a gentle, feel-good yoga flow with immersive sound healing to help you move, breathe, and soften back into yourself.
We begin with a slow, intuitive flow designed to release tension, awaken the body, and create a sense of ease and fluidity. Movements are accessible and adaptable, focusing on grounding, opening the heart, and reconnecting to natural rhythm rather than pushing or striving. Breath awareness guides each transition, allowing the practice to feel both energizing and calming.
As the body settles, the session gradually transitions into a deeply restful sound journey. Using instruments such as singing bowls, chimes and voice gently wash through the nervous system, supporting relaxation, emotional release, and creative flow. You're invited to rest, receive, and simply be.
This class is ideal if you're seeking:
* A gentle yet uplifting movement practice
* Stress relief and nervous system reset
* A sense of grounding, creativity, and embodied calm
* A mindful experience that blends movement, sound, and presence
No prior yoga or sound healing experience is needed. Come as you are - curious, tired, inspired, or simply in need of a pause.
โจ Move. Feel. Rest. Reset. โจ
Bring your own mat or use one of ours.

**Our website**: [Kenjutsu Berlin - Official school of Katori Shinto-ryu in Berlin (katoriberlin.org)](https://katoriberlin.org/)
**Katori Shintล-ryลซ** is one of the oldest Japanese sword fighting traditions (koryลซ) still practised today and is recognized by the Japanese government as a cultural intangeable asset. The school was founded in the middle of the 15th century by Iizasa Chลisai Ienao at the Katori Shrine (Katori jingลซ) and has become the origin of numerous other martial arts schools over the course of its almost 600-year history.
The training consists of the continuous repetition of fixed sequences of movements (kata) and includes the use of classic Japanese weapons such as the sword (iai-jutsu, battล-jutsu, ken-jutsu, ryลtล-jutsu, kodachi-jutsu), the long staff (bล-jutsu), the lance (naginata-jutsu) and the spear (sล-jutsu), as well as unarmed disciplines, tactics and spiritual aspects.
**The Katori Berlin dojo** is the only official shibu of Otake Nobutoshi-shihanโs dojo Shinbukan in Germany and fully dedicated to the transmission and study of one martial tradition: Tenshinshล-den Katori Shintล-ryลซ. Through these efforts we aim to contribute to the cultural preservation of this martial tradition. The dojo has one officially appointed shidosha.
**Our sensei**: Sebastian Graetz has been active in martial arts since 1997. After almost 15 years of taekwondo in Berlin, he started with Katori Shintล-ryลซ in Asia in 2014. Since then, he has studied in Japan with ลtake Risuke-shihan and ลtake Nobutoshi-shihan, and in Vietnam with Malte Stokhof-shihandai. In 2023, he received his Menkyo license and permission to set up a training group in Berlin the following year.

music therapy (psychotherapy) sessions
**Music Therapy & Systemic Psychotherapy**
My approach integrates music therapy and systemic psychotherapy to support emotional expression, connection, and transformation.
Through sound, improvisation, and dialogue, we explore inner experiences, family dynamics, and relational patterns in a safe and creative space.
The sessions invite awareness, playfulness, and presence โ allowing music to become both mirror and bridge between what is felt and what can be spoken.
Whether through active musicking, deep listening, or verbal reflection, the process unfolds at your own pace, weaving together body, voice, and relationships as pathways to healing and growth.

Filmmakers & Movie Nerds Meetup #166
Curious what we do? Check our [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/filmmakersandmovienerds/) โฅ๏ธ
Would you like to meet some like-minded filmmakers? Start a project? Or do you need help with a movie you are currently working on? Are you new in the city and you'd like to meet people tinkering with movies?
**Then you should join us!**
We meet every Sunday. Itโs important to us that we get to know each other in person. To create a community of connected people, work, learn and grow together. For film making you need a crew of reliable people with a positive can-do-attitude. This is the place to find them.
Together, we will talk about these topics:
* What you are currently working on
* What you need help with
* What would you like to help with
* What you you would like to learn
This is event is great for:
* filmmakers
* movie nerds
* writers
* camera operators
* editors
* actors
* sound recorders
* composers
* gaffers
* producers
We are limiting the amount of people, so we can have a structured introduction and discussion. After that we get together loosely with some drinks and chats. And then we mostly go for dinner with a couple of us.
**Important information**:
*To sustain and grow this amazing community, we started a member contribution that is due every month. The money we collect is used solely for the purpose of the community. Of course you can come once or twice without contributing to check us out!*
Portrait Drawing on Sunday Afternoon
This group is for everyone who is interested in drawing portraits!
For me, drawing has been a wonderful way to gain a new perspective on the world and the people within it.
Whether you are just starting out or have been drawing for ages โ all levels are welcome :)
How it works:
1\. We meet at The Castle pub in Mitte and do short sittings of 15 minutes for each other\. The first sitting is divided into 3 warm\-up sketches\, 5 minutes each\.
2\. Before we start\, everybody writes their name on a blank card \(provided by the organizer\); these cards are then used to randomly pick the model every 15 minutes\.
3\. Usually we do 8 sittings\, with a 15\-minute break in the middle \(so after 4 sittings\, or 1 hour\)\.
-> The participation is free, but it is expected that everybody orders something from the bar to support the lovely location.
Get out your pencils and let's start!
Please bring your own art supplies!

**Caller: Dan Kappus**
**Band: Trillium**
**Big Scioty Contra Dance**
**temporarily returning to our long ago location for Jan-March - First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus 43215**
WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like youโve seen in period films such as โPride and Prejudiceโ, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. Thatโs English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like โswing your partnerโ and โdo-si-do,โ like youโve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alรก โRiverdance.โ Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THATโs Contra Dancing!
Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot.
