**Hello. I'm [Bruce Hunt](www.brucehunt.ca)** your **Confidence and Communication Coach** in downtown Toronto. I host a variety of inspiring and growth provoking experiences all designed to help you learn to express yourself more confidently and effectively.

**What is Community Breakthrough Night?**
This is an event for anyone who wants to learn and practice speaking skills with other friendly, supportive people. Anyone is welcome to participate and no experience is necessary, This experience is meant to have everyone participate but you're welcome to watch if that makes you feel more comfortable right now.

**Yes. A** **$25 drop in fee** is in effect or bring a friend and pay **$40** for the two of you. You can pay via e-transfer to bruce@brucehunt.ca. Just add a message in the transfer which event you're planning to attend.
**What to expect?**
1. Bruce opens the event with a friendly welcome and warm up for everyone and introduces the speaking theme for the night.
2. You'll get some tips for how to build your 2 Minute Talk and be reminded of some skills you can practice.
3. Everyone gets 2 Minute Speaking opportunities until everyone has had at least one, but often two opportunities to speak.
**Do you need to prepare anything?**
No. There is a unique speaking theme for each event that is based on a personal growth theme of some kind. They are always easy to talk about and designed to get you sharing your unique perspectives and experience not give a prepared presentation.

**Calm Beltline Trail Walk: Caledonia Station to Davisville Station**
Join us for a relaxed, no-pressure walk along Torontoās Beltline Trail, from **Caledonia Station to Davisville Station**.
This route follows part of the old **Toronto Belt Line Railway**, a former rail corridor that once looped around midtown Toronto. Today, much of that railway space has been turned into a peaceful linear trail, connecting neighbourhoods through tree-lined paths, quiet residential areas, bridges, and green spaces. The Kay Gardner section of the Beltline is especially meaningful because local advocates helped protect the old rail corridor from private development and turn it into a public trail and park.
Weāll start near **Caledonia Station** and walk east along the York Beltline and Kay Gardner Beltline Trail toward **Davisville Station**. The route is mostly flat and follows a calm, easy-to-navigate path. Itās a nice mix of city and nature: trees, open trail sections, quiet crossings, and little reminders of the railway history along the way.
As always, this is a low-pressure walk. Youāre welcome to chat, walk quietly, or move between the two. There are no icebreakers, no networking, and no expectation to socialize in any particular way. Just showing up and being present is enough.

### What to wear
Wear comfortable shoes suitable for a longer city trail walk. The route is mostly flat, but weāll still be walking for around an hour and a half, so comfort matters more than style.
Weāll finish near **Davisville Station**, so it will be easy to head home by TTC afterward.
Looking forward to a calm Sunday walk together.

Bring any piece of music in any form. We'll deconstruct it's musical elements and share with each other what the music evokes and what insights arise. Then, consider how this musical work fits into the broader world of music and sound.
After a break well do a musical exercise together and end with a short slent meditation.

Why are we unhappy? Where does emotional pain come from? Studies show that people who suffer from long-term emotional pain have painful experiences in their lives that were never fully resolved in their mind. In other words, there were issues in the past that were not completely dealt with. This can include abuse in childhood, breakups, divorce, death of a loved one, to name a few.
How do you know whether you have gotten over something painful? Here is an easy test: Do you still have attention on what had happened to you? For instance, do you still find yourself thinking about something painful that you went through? If you are, then you are not over it. In fact, in severe cases, people find themselves playing a "tape" in their mind over and over again.
So how do you heal from your past? How do you stop the "tape" playing in your mind? In this meeting, you will learn a technique to help you with that.

Free In-Person Events: How to Let Go of the Past and Move Forward
The emotional pain from past bad experiences easily lingers in the present, making it hard to enjoy life and create your future. Even when you think you've moved on, the negative emotions can be triggered, sending you back into the pain of that experience.
And we are talking about pain; emotions such as grief, depression, anxiety, fear (or terror), boiling anger, simmering resentment, feelings of shame, blaming and regret can leave you incapacitated to a greater or lesser degree.
In this local event we will be discussing the reasons why these past bad experiences have the power to affect you long after they occurred. We'll go over why the emotional pain can be so strong. We'll also discuss some simple solutions to overcome your emotional pain and be free to fully enjoy your life again.
Examples of painful experiences include:
* A broken relationship or divorce.
* Death or loss of a loved one.
* Death of a pet.
* A sudden shock or bad news.
* A betrayal.
* Being part of an abusive relationship.
* A bad injustice.

Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to āpin the blameā on someone or something. If you donāt find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse.
Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well.
Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, donāt know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe youāve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation.
