Hello again! After a long hiatus, the Monday meet up at Nanny O’Briens is back! We’ll have some games to play, but feel free to bring your favorites as well. Stop by for a game and a drink, and say hello! We’ll be in the back room. Other info: Nanny O'Brien's is allowing us to use their back room for some board game socializing. Please reciprocate their generosity by purchasing food and drinks. Free street parking starts at 6:30 in most areas (make sure to read the signs). If you're taking the metro, take the red line to Cleveland Park and walk two blocks southwest on Connecticut (we are located next to CVS).

Join us between 6:00 and 9:30 to play nontraditional board games at Brew Belly restaurant in Olney, MD. Some games will be provided but please do bring along games you are interested in playing! The start time is 6:00 pm. Typically attendees will begin splitting off for their first game by 6:15, but this can vary. RSVPs let us know who to look out for, and if you will be arriving much after 6:15-6:30, shoot us a message in the event chat. That will let us know if we are slower to split off or to start with a quicker game so you can get gaming sooner when you arrive! No sign\-ups required \| All levels welcome \| 21\+ If you're looking for a casual game of chess in a fun atmosphere, this event is for you! Members range from beginner to master level, and games are played both with and without time controls. There are dozens of players each week, with only a fraction of the participants registering on meetup. This event is held at a bar, the Board Room, in Washington, DC, and is intended for 21+ players. We meet upstairs, on the mezzanine. Upon arrival, fill out a name tag and indicate your relative skill, to facilitate match-ups. Chess sets and boards are provided. We don't have club clocks, but most people use the Chess Clock app from Chess.com to play timed games.

(note this is just a wikipedia stock photo) Let's see if we can raise Plan B back from the grave! In this one-shot game, investigate mysteries and try to survive the terror in 1920's New Orleans! Call of Cthulhu 7th edition. Characters will be pre-generated. The scenario is from a published supplement, so let me know if you might have already played it. The rules are easy to pick up, so newbies welcome! Call of Cthulhu games tend to be combat light, role-playing heavy, story driven, and full of ambience. We'll order out for dinner. This will be at my home. Everyone is encouraged to get vaccinated, but not required. I don't want to get any of my friends sick! I will, however, be screening for a standard set of COVID symptoms. If you are showing any symptoms that could make people nervous, please postpone coming to the meetup till you're over it. While sneezing is not a COVID symptom, I think folks would rather not risk getting even a cold right now, so again please don't show up if this is the case, even if you're sure it is just an allergy. On the other hand, no masks are required, although feel free if it'd make you more comfortable.

*Root* is a game of woodland might and right. Stalk the woods as one of the Vagabonds, seize the initiative with the Eyrie birds of prey, rule over your subjects as the Marquise de Cat, or command the Woodland Alliance to create a new order. With creatures and cunning, you'll rule a fantastic forest kingdom in the ultimate asymmetric board game of adventure and war.

And always remember... in the New Orleans shadows you need to shoot straight, conserve ammo, and never, ever ask where the leather in your new leather coat came from... you are happier not knowing.

Having secured a secret entrance to the Wreck of the Returned, the Starfinder Society is finally ready to launch a rescue mission into the Wreck, to liberate the lost Starfinder Zizenzi and the countless other citizens of Akiton who’ve been abducted by the Functionary’s forces and await forced conversion into mindless servitors of the Wreck. While numerous teams prepare to enter the conversion facility, First Seeker Sarmak has tasked one special team with breaching the conversion facility’s central control room and dispatching the cure to conversion through the ventilation system. If successful, all the converted innocents within the Wreck will regain their autonomy and break free from the Wreck’s control. Unfortunately, the central control is sure to be heavily guarded… Prepare for battle, Starfinders! A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for 3rd through 4th-level characters, playable in 2-3 hours. This is one of our regularly occurring drop-in sessions. We need a minimum of 4 players for this event to occur. Curious about Dungeons & Dragons but never played before? Learn how to play classic Dungeons & Dragons with other newbies and go on perilous adventures in a dark fairytale world called Dolmenwood. This will be a beginner-oriented introductory session involving exploration, strange monsters, clever problem-solving, and some intrigue. You do not need to know the rules ahead of time and you do not need to bring anything, as I have dice, pencils, and premade character sheets for all players. Just show up, jump in, and see if it is your thing! This will be a one-off adventure, with potential to continue on if everyone is interested. In this story-focused game, each participant takes on one aspect (sister) of Bluebeard's Bride from the famous legend: witch, animus, virgin, mother, or fatale. Together you'll navigate Bluebeard's house and the horrors within, at last coming upon a forbidden room. The setting for this story is the year 1776 in Virginia, United States, as the colony experiences its revolution. Unlike the published editions of the game, this session focuses on the topic of empowerment through witchcraft. Because of this, in this session, one participant must occupy the role of witch.
