Akmal & Dinner @ Imperial Hotel (both optional) on Good Friday
Akmal & Dinner @ Imperial Hotel (both optional) on Good Friday
Ok so it's Good Friday so there's basically nothing on. So come along to see Akmal (with his show My Family and Other Criminals) which starts at 9pm at Athaneum Theatre 2 (188 Collins Street Melbourne) after dinner at Imperial Hotel (2-8 Bourke Street Melbourne) at 6.30pm (both optional.) So firstly dinner at Imperial Hotel with a table booked under Andrew Goodwin (ph: 0424453134) at 6.30pm. Here is a copy of the menu. [https://www.canva.com/design/DAHDg7ygM8I/l1OcHFVPF_RUceD_jv4iAQ/view?utm_content=DAHDg7ygM8I&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=uniquelinks&utlId=h55e7ca8ba5](https://www.canva.com/design/DAHDg7ygM8I/l1OcHFVPF_RUceD_jv4iAQ/view?utm_content=DAHDg7ygM8I&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=uniquelinks&utlId=h55e7ca8ba5) Then about 8.30 we can either walk or catch a tram to see Akmal at Athaneum Theatre 2 which starts at 9pm. Akmal returns to Melbourne International Comedy Festival sharing stories and thoughts about people who affected his life. Like his uncle, who pretended to be a doctor for many years by skipping medical school and simply buying a stethoscope and a white coat. Or his Coptic priest (who he confessed all his sins to) who was also the local exorcist. Ironically, he was found to have several demons inside him. Or his millionaire uncle who, when visiting the Salehs, gave himself an enema using the family garden hose (we never drank out of that hose again). In *My Family and Other Criminals* you will meet these lovable but crazy characters and much more! ***'Akmal’s comedic prowess shines brightly throughout the show. It will leave you both entertained and enlightened, with a newfound appreciation for the absurdities of life.'* ArtsHub** ***'His playful banter had everyone in stitches, and his ability to circle back to earlier jokes with perfectly timed callbacks showcased his impressive comedic agility.'* Fringefeed** Here is a link to buy tickets which are $49 plus booking fee. **PLEASE BUY TICKETS ASAP AS THERE ARE ONLY 50 TICKETS PER SHOW.** [https://www.ticketmaster.com.au/akmal-my-family-and-other-criminals-melbourne-03-04-2026/event/13006375AF4F8A3D](https://www.ticketmaster.com.au/akmal-my-family-and-other-criminals-melbourne-03-04-2026/event/13006375AF4F8A3D) Event cohosted by Martin Carr. So Imperial Hotel very close to Parliament Station for dinner and Atheneum Theatre 2 very close to Town Hall Station if just coming to Akmal. Likely to be plenty of parking around the general area on Good Friday too. PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT IS ON MULTIPLE GROUPS.

If you’re new to the group or if this is your first time attending my meetup events, I WELCOME you! Glad to have you in the group.😊

Why it’s important to join meetups?
It’s in our DNA to connect with people. Let’s face it, we are social creatures and we need to be connected with one another. If you go back to our grandparents, they would be connected in a community (or village) and everyone would know each other.
Nowadays, we no longer live like this because there are big cities and we are continually moving fast, and disconnection has been widespread. This is why connection is important. We need to bring back connection.

As always, there will be us hosts to meet you and greet you. 👋

If you have any questions, feel free to inbox me me a direct message.✌🏽peace Kind regards, Abraham

Sandringham‑to‑St Kilda Cheeky Strolling Coastal Adventure and Cafe 12 km
Sandringham‑to‑St Kilda Cheeky Strolling Coastal Adventure and Cafe 12 km
**🌞 Event Title** Sandringham‑to‑St Kilda Cheeky Strolling Coastal Adventure **💫 The Vibe** A three‑hour, 12 km beach‑promenade wander where sunscreen, sea breeze and slow‑burn chemistry mingle beautifully. Think sandy‑toed charm, gentle teasing, and the kind of walk where you “accidentally” fall into step with someone who laughs at your jokes. **+++Ensure you read the rules at the end before joining. Registering = agreeing to them+++** **🚉 Meeting Options** - 11:00 a.m. at Sandringham Station — gather, stretch, flirt, admire each other’s hats. Try to arrive by 10.45 a m. I may not wait for stragglers. - OR join the travelling circus on the last carriage of the Sandringham line train leaving Flinders St at ~10:17 a.m. It’s the unofficial pre‑party carriage: smiles, introductions, and the first hints of seaside adventure. **🏖️ The Walk** A long, delicious glide along the coastline, following the beach promenade past Brighton’s colourful bathing boxes, Elwood’s breezy foreshore, and the slow unfurling of St Kilda’s charm. The pace is relaxed, the conversation playful, and the scenery a perfect backdrop for gentle social alchemy. **Expect**: - Sparkly water - Flirty side‑glances - A few “wait, let’s take a photo here” moments - And the occasional dolphin‑level social energy **🍽️ Lunch Landing** We roll into Frankie’s Top Shop Café in West St Kilda for a well‑earned lunch. Think good food, relaxed vibes, and the perfect setting to keep conversations flowing. This is where the group settles, mingles, and maybe discovers who they want to walk next to on the optional extension… For people that would prefer to walk the optional city section only this could be a perfect place to start..We should be here from around 2p.m to 2.30p.m depending on how our gossip catch up goes. **➕ Optional 5 km Extension** For the adventurous, the curious, or the romantically optimistic: Taking us up to a 17km long walk. A 5 km wander from Frankie’s to Transport Bar at Federation Square, weaving through: - The shimmering loop of Albert Park Lake - The dramatic presence of the Shrine of Remembrance - The mysterious charm of the black swans - And the gentle descent into the city via the gardens We finish at Transport Bar, where snacks, drinks, and evening‑plotting unfold naturally. **🕒 Timing** - Main walk: ~3 hours, 12 km - Lunch: About 30 to 60 minutes - Optional extension: ~1.5 hours, 5 km - Entire experience: a full afternoon of sunshine, laughter, and lightly charged social chemistry **🐾 Who’s Welcome** Humans, charmers, wanderers, romantics, and anyone who enjoys a good promenade. (Pets optional but always adored.) **⚠️ Group Rules & Event Etiquette ⚠️** These are basic, commonsense standards that keep events safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone. **👟 Fitness Requirements** Walking: 3–4 km/hr We walk at a relaxed pace. Please ensure you meet the fitness level for the event. If the group is forced to wait excessively, you may be asked to leave the event. **⛹️ Pace: Too Fast or Too Slow** Small social events rely on staying together. If you prefer a very different pace, consider going solo, joining a faster/slower group, or choosing events that match your fitness. **👩‍💼 Time Constraints** If you’re on a tight schedule, this may not be the right event. Social activities rarely run exactly on time. **⚠️ CRITICAL EXPECTATIONS ⚠️** **👻 No‑Shows** No‑shows block waitlisted people from attending and disrupt small-group events. - Remove yourself at least 24 hours before the event. - No‑shows will likely be removed and blocked from the group. - Last‑minute cancellations **(“flaking”)** may also result in group removal, especially when there is a waitlist. **👀 Attending Without Being on the Going List** This is a security issue. **Do NOT turn up unannounced**. If you’re not on the Going list and haven’t arranged it with the organiser beforehand, you will be asked to leave. Event check‑ins are performed. **⏰ Late Arrivals** If you’re late, the group will not wait. - You may be marked as a No‑Show and removed from the group. - It’s your responsibility to communicate and catch up—this may not be possible for some events. **🎲 Second Chances** If something goes wrong, communicate with the organiser. Silence + poor behaviour = removal. Communication + accountability = second chances. As the organiser is busy organising this may be impossible during the event. **🚩Disclaimer: No Liability & Organiser Indemnity By participating in this event, you acknowledge and accept full personal responsibility for your own safety, wellbeing, and belongings. The organiser assumes no liability for injury, loss, or damage incurred during the activity. Participation is entirely at your own risk.**

How to Structure Real Estate Deals Using Seller Finance and Notes
How to Structure Real Estate Deals Using Seller Finance and Notes
Learn how seller finance and notes can create cash flow and new deal opportunities with 40-year investor Eddie Speed **FREE TICKET** 🎟️ https://www.eventbrite.com/e/how-to-structure-real-estate-deals-using-seller-finance-and-notes-tickets-1984826171509?aff=cicmeetupapp Most real estate investors only know one way to make money: Buy the property. Fix the property. Rent it or sell it. But there’s another side of real estate that can create cash flow, flexibility, and opportunity without only focusing on owning more property. At this month’s Columbus Investors Club, Tiffany and Josh High are sitting down with Eddie Speed - a real estate veteran with 40 years of experience who has closed more than 50,000 note deals. He has spent decades helping investors understand how to structure deals through seller finance and notes, and how to think more like the bank instead of just the buyer. This will be a practical conversation around a part of real estate most people have heard about, but very few truly understand. If you’ve ever wanted to know how to create more opportunities in deals, generate cash flow in a different way, or understand how seller finance actually works in the real world, this is a night you want to be in the room for. You’ll walk away thinking about deals differently, seeing new possibilities, and understanding how creative structuring can open doors that traditional investing alone can’t. **What You’ll Learn** * How seller finance works in real estate deals * How notes fit into real estate and create opportunity * How to structure deals more creatively * How investors generate cash flow by focusing on the payment * How to think like the bank instead of only focusing on owning the property * How this strategy can create flexibility in today’s market **Open Q&A - Ask Eddie Anything About** * Seller finance and how to use it in real deals * How notes work in a practical, beginner-friendly way * Creating cash flow without only relying on rentals * Structuring deals that others might miss * How experienced investors think differently about financing * Common mistakes investors make when they only focus on the property **Why You Should Be in the Room** Because the investors who win in the long run know how to do more than just buy houses. They know how to structure. They know how to create terms. They know how to see opportunities other people miss. This is the kind of conversation that can expand the way you think about real estate entirely. Come ready to learn, ask questions, take notes, and connect with people who are serious about growing in this business. **Reserve your free seat now - and be part of the conversation.** Grab your spot here ➡️ https://www.eventbrite.com/e/how-to-structure-real-estate-deals-using-seller-finance-and-notes-tickets-1984826171509?aff=cicmeetupapp
