Young Professionals Social Club: Nationals Home Game Socials (20s & 30s)
Young Professionals Social Club: Nationals Home Game Socials (20s & 30s)
Are you in your 20s or 30s looking to expand your social circle, grab a drink, and catch some live baseball without breaking the bank? This is the group for you!
We are a vibrant community of local young professionals who meet up for every single Nats home game. Whether you are a die-hard baseball fan or just in it for the social scene, you’ll fit right in. If the Nats are playing at home, we are there!
What We Are About
Our events focus on high-energy, low-stress environments. We love utilizing standing room only tickets and affordable season passes to keep things budget-friendly, but regular ticket holders are always welcome!
Standing room areas (like the outfield bars and concourse decks) give us the freedom to move around, mingle, and actually talk to each other—no being stuck in a single stadium seat all night.
Every Home Game: No guessing when the next meetup is. If there is a game at the stadium, we are gathering.
Socialize: Meet new friends, network with fellow local professionals, and find your crowd.
Eat & Drink: We always kick things off with pre-game drinks or hang out at the stadium's best social spaces.
Zero Pressure: You don’t need to be a baseball expert. Come for the game, stay for the conversations.
Who Should Join?
If you are in your 20s or 30s, live in the area, and want a fun, consistent way to get out after work or on the weekends, hit that "Join" button.
Check the schedule, grab your tickets, and we'll see you at the ballpark!

Let's Play "Esoteric Ebb"
For June's game of the month we are playing the role-playing game "Esoteric Ebb." From the devs:
*Esoteric Ebb is a single-player CRPG inspired by the freedom of tabletop adventures. Unravel a political conspiracy with your goblin sidekick. Roll dice in tense encounters. Become a cleric of legends or completely ruin the campaign.*
It is available for PC. Play through it and we will discuss it on the 14th! You do not need to play all or even any of the game to attend but please be prepared to be spoiled at the meeting :-)

Sunday Boardgaming @ Panera
Open gaming at Panera! New players welcome. We have many games on hand or you can bring your own. We are happy to teach or learn one of yours.
Root (6pm) --> Punchbowl Social, 1st Floor (Ballson, VA)
*Root* is a game of woodland might and right. Stalk the woods as one of the Vagabonds, seize the initiative with the Eyrie birds of prey, rule over your subjects as the Marquise de Cat, or command the Woodland Alliance to create a new order. With creatures and cunning, you'll rule a fantastic forest kingdom in the ultimate asymmetric board game of adventure and war.
Nemesis: Retaliation
We will be playing two games of **Nemesis:** **Retaliation** with up to 4 players per game. All experience levels welcome. Expect the game teach to start promptly within the first 10 minutes.
In **Nemesis: Retaliation** players take on the roles of highly trained marines, entering the alien nest with strict orders and the most advanced tools available. But will they be well-prepared enough to face the unrelenting horde that awaits them? Players must survive against overwhelming odds and the possibility of betrayal at every step. This is a semi-cooperative game in which you and your crewmates must survive on a ship infested with hostile organisms. To win the game, you have to complete one of the two objectives dealt to you at the start of the game and survive. You will find many obstacles on your way: swarms of Intruders, the poor physical condition of the ship, agendas held by your fellow players, and sometimes just cruel fate.

Find [here](https://awakenrealms.com/download) the rulebook.
Note: Please remember to update your RSVP if you can not attend the event. By updating your RSVP when you can't make it other players on the waitlist will have a chance to attend. No-shows may make it harder to attend future meetups. Also, all library rules apply to this meetup event. Mainly that no food is allowed in the library. Covered drinks are allowed.

Loric Games IGDA Meetup
Make games? Fund games? Dream about making games? *This one's for YOU!*
IGDA DC and Loric Games are joining forces with support from Arlington County for a night where the DMV's game dev community shows up in one room. Students, hobbyists, seasoned devs, artists, investors, and the curious-but-haven't-started-yet are all invited!
Show off what you're building in our open show-and-tell session (prototypes, jam games, or half-finished chaos), get live portfolio feedback from the Loric team, and meet the people who make, fund, and champion games right here in the DMV.
If you'd like to be part of the show-and-tell session, submit your videos here: https://forms.gle/qP3TAtixo7NzEsYc8
So bring a build, a portfolio, a business card, or just your curiosity. This is the time to share your work, meet collaborators, and maybe even find your next opportunity. See you there!
GMU's Pilot Space (First floor of Vernon Smith Hall) is accessible via the Virginia Square GMU Metro station, with plenty of street parking and a parking garage nearby.

1JennyFan's General Gaming Meetup!
Both primary COVID-19 vaccinations are REQUIRED to enter. No vax, no entry. No exceptions. Please preferably share your vaccine status in the #vaccine channel on our Discord, either via https://vase.vdh.virginia.gov/vdhapps/f?p=545:1 or photograph of your vaccine card. If you're not comfortable sharing your status online, you can also physically bring your card. Attendees come at their own risk.
In terms of setup, I have a TV for videos and general gaming, a monitor in a different room for smaller games, let's plays, and streaming, and a projector in the loft for movies and larger games requiring more space like Dance Dance Revolution, Just Dance, and Guitar Hero/Rock Band. For consoles I have PlayStations 2 through 4 plus a PS TV, Wii/Wii U, Switch, and PC. I often move my consoles around (either for let's play or streaming purposes or to bring them other places), so if you can't find what you're looking for just ask. I don't own any XBox consoles but you're welcome to bring yours if you'd like! Extra consoles, controllers, games, and screens are always welcome; just let me know in advance if you're able so we can plan for it. :) My game & console/controller list is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/11LvIAgla39HtYpx9PLf6AaVj7DI3i7ypox8qSj23SCo/edit?usp=drivesdk
When you arrive please park in a space that does NOT have a number; if those aren't available we have lots of open street parking within the Penderbrook community (I'm right in the middle so either side is cool; parking on Center Way or the middle of Penderbrook Drive is best) but please don't park on a yellow curb or you might be towed! You'll want to turn onto Golf RIDGE, and then onto Golf TEE where I'm the first house on the left. When you enter walk all the way up and to the right; look for the Super Mario Bros. doormat. I'm about 10 driving minutes from the Vienna/Fairfax metro station.
We usually go out for dinner at around 5 PM; I live a short drive away from lots of shopping centers including Fair Oaks Mall, Pender, Fairfax Shopping/Towne Center, Fair Lakes Promenade, Fair Lakes Center, and Fairfax Corner.
Here's a list of restaurants in the area by food type: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Mn6ytvuaaGaBlpVT-9pBSh8fv6X8_V9wzl4eQKYzRT0/edit?usp=sharing

Please follow the group's rules & guidelines below:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PS-UUkkFQ1JDaMp7pCTSGMu2Rqm58X7srdCzhN0Y-xA/edit?usp=drivesdk
I also have a few more guidelines, but they're pretty easy to follow:
Gaming equipment are not toys. Please be responsible with other people's controllers, consoles, games, furniture, etc. Accidents happen, but if you continuously break things you won't be allowed to use people's equipment.
Try and keep a positive atmosphere. A lot of people attend the group to escape from their daily lives. Don't feel like you need to leave your problems at the door, everyone needs to vent once in a while, but please attempt to not do so the whole meetup. We're here to have fun after all, so try and keep it that way! <3

1JennyFan's Activation Day Meetup: half house, half karaoke outing!
Hi everyone! I'm doing things a little differently this year, partially cause we're celebrating on a Sunday. First during the afternoon will be a supercharged open house, with Rock Band upstairs and other video/board games downstairs. Details on the usual stuff for that below.
Around 6:30 PM we'll move to Breakers Sky Lounge in Herndon for dinner, drinks if you want them, and KARAOKE starting at 7:30 PM! Photo ID's required for that and they have a dress code of no tanks, flip-flops, or sweatpants. I can take up to 4 people over there if absolutely necessary.
**Both primary COVID-19 vaccinations are REQUIRED to enter. No vax, no entry. No exceptions.** Please preferably share your vaccine status in the #vaccine channel on our Discord, either via [https://vase.vdh.virginia.gov/vdhapps/f?p=545:1](https://vase.vdh.virginia.gov/vdhapps/f?p=545:1) or photograph of your vaccine card. If you're not comfortable sharing your status online, you can also physically bring your card. Dave & Buster's is fair game but I do ask that you mask if possible if you're not vaccinated. Attendees come at their own risk.
1. **Both primary COVID-19 vaccinations are REQUIRED to enter.** No vax, no entry. No exceptions.
2. **IF you are up to date on your COVID-19 vaccinations** (meaning you either received your primary doses between two weeks and two months prior to the meetup, OR a bivalent vaccine), then masks are OPTIONAL.
3. **If you received your primary COVID-19 vaccine doses but are not up to date,** then you are REQUIRED to wear a mask. (This includes eating or drinking; please exit before you remove your mask to eat or drink, and secure it back on before reentering).
Feel free to ask Courtney any questions about the above. Please preferably share your vaccine status in the #vaccine channel on our Discord, or if you're not comfortable doing so you can physically bring a vaccination card.
