Each month Noah Gitlis teaches a different Jazz Standard with emphasis on melody, harmony, accompaniment, and rhythm. The goal of the class is to help students boost their jazz repertoire, and build the skills required to feel confident in a jazz jam session. These classes are a lot of fun and a great way to get out and play with other people while learning some really fun music. All instruments and skill levels are welcome but students should have basic proficiency on their instrument to get the most out of the class. One of the world’s best-selling artists of all time, Tina Turner has won 12 Grammy Awards and her live shows have been seen by millions, with more concert tickets sold than any other solo performer in music history. Featuring her much loved songs, TINA – The Tina Turner Musical is written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Katori Hall and directed by the internationally acclaimed Phyllida Lloyd. THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL is recommended for ages 14 and up. The show runs 2 hours and 40 minutes, including one intermission.

If you were born in ‘62 like I was, you grew up with one of the greatest television shows of all time (well, I was 5yo at the time 😆), the Monkees! A conceived boy band for TV, that was made up of four talented musicians- Davey Jones, Mike Nesmith, Mickey Dolenz, and Peter Tork. Their three #1 hits included Last Train to Clarksville, Daydream Believer, and Neil Diamond’s I’m a Believer. The Jelly Roll Mortals are fresh off their triumphant performance at the Buddy Holly Winter Dance and turn their talents on late 60’s power pop. The Rockville Elks Lodge has cheap drinks and “somewhat edible substances” for sale. Plentiful parking out back. There’s a $15 cover charge and the band starts at 7:30. I’ll try to reserve a couple of tables and arrive at 7.

If you have copies of Rise Up Singing and Rise Again, please bring them. If you don't, we may have some extras available for you to borrow (one time only, please).
