Come join me on a botanic odyssey through the flowers, plants, and blooms which inspired James Joyce's work. Tour Date: 16th of June at 2pm Meeting: Inside the Visitor Centre for 1.45pm. Once you mention in the Meetup Comments that your ticket is booked, you will be moved from the waiting list to the Going List. From the ancient elms of Finnegans Wake to the floral dictionaries of Ulysses, this tour will illuminate a fascination with plants that accompanied Joyce throughout his life and has received little critical comment. This tour will also delve into how Joyce appropriates and interprets some of the literary history of Glasnevin, examining it's associations with figures like Jonathan Swift and Thomas Tickell. Join us for a relaxed evening of badminton and picnic vibes in Bushy Park 🏸🌿 Arrival is flexible from 19:00. We’ll play some casual badminton, frisbee and hang out while enjoying the sunshine together. ☀️ Bring snacks or drinks for the picnic if you’d like. On a donation basis. **Why meditate with others?** Meditation can help you pause, notice what’s happening in your mind and body, and build greater calm, clarity, and self-awareness - particularly important in a busy, demanding world. Meditation isn’t about emptying your mind or getting it “right,” but about paying attention to your own experience, just as it is. Learning and practicing meditation with other people can deepen this experience. Practicing together creates a sense of connection and shared understanding, reminding you that everyone’s experience is different and that there’s no single right way to meditate. Being part of a group can offer encouragement, structure, and a feeling of support, making the practice more sustainable and meaningful over time.

TOG will be open on Tuesday evenings from 19:00 to 21:30 for a general Open House event. Expect to find members and visitors in the space up to all sorts of activities. It's a great time to drop in and see what the space is about. If you're an artist, tinkerer, maker or just plain curious, come in and see what the space is about. Maybe you already have something to work on (or want to), have something to fix, create, design, bodge or tinker... drop in. We're also open for just for plain old social chat and hang out, with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. We have lots of free parking right outside our door.

Sangha (or 'spiritual community') Night is a chance for those practicing meditation and Buddhism to come together. The evening usually consists of a period of meditation, a talk about Buddhism and a Puja after a short tea-break. **Practical details:** The night will start at 7pm sharp so arrive a little early to ensure a punctual start. **7 pm** – Meditation **7.25 pm** – Talk with Questions and Answers **8.10 pm** – Tea-Break **8.30 pm** – Puja **9.15 pm** – Finish This event is for: * Sangha members both new and long-standing. * Meditators or Buddhists with some experience who want to visit the Dublin Buddhist Centre for the first time. * Those totally new to meditation or Buddhism who want to jump in at the deep-end. A lovely session of music and song in a relaxed and supportive environment. All levels of musician and singer welcome. You can come and sing or play one song or just come and listen to the other members. Great way to build up your playing skills and build up your confidence. We don't pay the bar for this session, so make sure you buy at least one drink. Charge €2.

Yoga gives energy, which enables us to lead life fully and with enjoyment, and works on lots of different levels of our being. Buddhist meditation techniques offer a way of encouraging and developing positive states of mind, such as calmness, clarity, emotional positivity and a deeper seeing of the true nature of things. Join a relaxed French conversation group (online) where we use a real conversation between 2 native speakers as a way to practise speaking French in a natural and structured way. This is not a traditional lesson. It’s a guided conversation space where you practise speaking through real-life content. ## 📰 This session’s topic : gossip in French In this session, we will work with a short clip from the French TV show ***Scènes de ménages***, where a grocery shop owner and one of her customers exchange juicy gossip 👀 ## 🎥 BEFORE THE SESSION Before the meetup, you will watch a short 1-minute French video clip. This video will give you key vocabulary and context so you feel more comfortable speaking during the session. You will also receive a few simple comprehension questions to help you prepare your ideas. ## 💬 DURING THE MEETUP (ONLINE) We will use this content as a starting point for discussion and speaking practice.
