Social Run : Courir en conscience
Et si la course était un moyen de mieux se connaître ?
Le Socrate Social Run, c’est un format simple :
* 7 km en groupe
* Allure accessible (\~6 min/km)
* Un temps d’échange après la course
* Un moment convivial
* Comprendre sa relation à l’effort physique,
* Repérer ses automatismes (comparaison, impatience, découragement, manque de souffle),
* Découvrir ses ressources naturelles,
* Apprendre à écouter son rythme,
* Expérimenter l’alignement entre corps, souffle et attention pour donner le meilleur.
Après la course :
Un débrief simple et concret pour partager ce qui a été vécu, croiser les regards, approfondir l’expérience entre coureurs.
Puis un moment convivial autour d’une boisson

🥐 Philosophical Brunch — Adult Friendship, Food & Real Conversations (English)
🥐 **Philosophical Brunch — Are we loved for who we are — or for how we make others feel? (paid event)**
*\*photos from previous session in french*
Making friends as a child felt natural.
As adults… it often feels surprisingly hard.
**Philosophical Brunch** is a paid gathering where we slow down, share food, and explore together the questions that shape our lives — through thoughtful and honest conversation.
This edition focuses on a question many people quietly wonder about:
**Love ❤️**
**Are we loved for who we are — or for how we make others feel?**
When someone says *“I love you”*, what exactly are they loving?
The person as they truly are…
or the emotions their presence creates in us?
Do we fall in love with a person,
or with the way we feel when we are with them?
And if much of what we perceive of others is filtered through our own needs, desires, and projections…
is it ever possible to love someone purely for who they are?
Through a guided philosophical discussion, we’ll explore love beyond romantic clichés — reflecting on projection, perception, emotional needs, and the subtle ways we relate to others.
This is a space to think together, but also to meet people who value genuine conversation.
Guiding questions will be shared in advance in a **dedicated WhatsApp group** so everyone can arrive feeling comfortable and inspired.
🌿 **What to expect**
* A guided philosophical discussion in English
* A small group to encourage authentic exchanges
* A warm, open, and respectful atmosphere
* A shared brunch moment 🥐☕
* No academic background required — curiosity is enough
This is not a lecture. It’s a real conversation.

* Expats, internationals, travelers, and curious locals
* People who enjoy meaningful conversations
* Anyone wondering how to create deeper connections as an adult

Join the RunDMV crew every Thursday night at **6:30pm** outside **Caboose Brewing Co.** in Vienna (520 Mill St. NE). We hit the W&OD Trail right behind the brewery for a **40-minute out-and-back run/walk**—go at your own pace, and when you hit 20 minutes, just turn around so we all finish together.
No matter if you’re walking, jogging, or pushing the pace, you’ll have company out there. Each week we switch directions (east one week, west the next) to keep things fresh.
After the run, we stick around for food and drinks at Caboose—because half the fun of run club is hanging out afterward. 🍻
Energizing Walk for Busy People!
Join our weekly walking meetup to have fun, maintain a healthy lifestyle, meet new people, and enjoy the weather! We meet Saturdays at 10am, halfway between the Reston *Container Store* and *Not Your Average Joes* (by the metal benches), leaving no later than 10:05.
Every week, rain or shine, we start by walking along the Green Trail to reach Lake Anne Community Center. Once there, we pause for water/bio (often staying a few minutes extra from April-November, due to the local Farmer's Market), and then we circle Lake Anne and head back to our starting point. It's roughly 3-4 miles and takes about an hour and a half.
Afterwards, some members will often head to *Not Your Average Joes* or another local restaurant for a quick drink/meal before tackling the day.
This event is open to all ages and fitness levels. Dogs are welcome, and we recommend dressing for the weather (umbrella, water, snow shoes, hat, etc.) since we'll walk rain or shine. Also, feel free to bring a friend!
By signing up, you accept and assume all risks and responsibilities with this activity, and nobody will be held liable.
