Forest and water meet here, creating the perfect setting to slow down and listen. ✨ We’ll begin with a **gentle, guided forest therapy walk** through the trees, pausing along the way to notice the stillness of the reservoir and the subtle signs of early spring. After enjoying a snack & sipping foraged tisane/tea while sitting near the water, we’ll settle in for an **immersive outdoor sound bath**. 🎶 Singing bowls and resonant instruments will blend with the soft lapping of water, breeze through branches, and birdsong overhead. The lake amplifies and carries sound in a uniquely soothing way — supporting nervous system reset, emotional clarity, and deep restoration. We’ll begin with a **45-minute restorative soundscape**, using layered sound and vibration to gently calm the body and quiet the mind. This portion of the evening invites deep relaxation and grounding, creating space to release tension and settle into stillness. From there, we’ll transition into a **45-minute meditative watercolor practice**. This is an intuitive, process-led approach to painting that focuses on presence rather than perfection. Let's head to Glenstone - a secretly famous museum in Potomac, MD. This museum has a lot to offer, in their own words: [Glenstone](https://www.glenstone.org/) is a place that seamlessly integrates art, architecture, and nature into a serene and contemplative environment. It is museum of modern and contemporary art and is integrated into nearly 300 acres of gently rolling pasture and unspoiled woodland in Montgomery County, Maryland, less than 15 miles from the heart of Washington, DC. The museum offers hiking/walking trails and we will be hiking 3-4 miles. Additionally it has two cafe's with vegan options. We will be stopping for a bit at one of them for snacks/coffee. Join the [Veg Society of DC (VSDC)](vsdc.org) for a pro-animal/vegan-themed Movie Watch Party on Saturday, March 21 at 3:00 pm in Fairfax VA. Socializing with vegan food beforehand and discussion about the movie afterwards is planned. THIS MONTH'S MOVIE WATCH PARTY WILL BEGIN AT 3 PM. This month's movie is Wicked: For Good (Part 2). *Wicked: For Good* explores the untold story behind the witches of Oz, following two unlikely friends whose choices, values, and courage shape the world around them. It’s a powerful, visually stunning story about identity, loyalty, and what it truly means to be “good.” The movie is 2 hours and 17 minutes long. The VSDC member hosts’ home in Fairfax has a small home theater that can accommodate around 20 people. This regular event is a fun way to learn, discuss, and meet vegans and vegan-curious people (Thanks to Mindy Kursban and David Kwiatkowski for hosting!). FEE: The $12 fee will cover the hosts' expenses for the event, including food, beverages, and other associated costs. If there are any proceeds beyond these costs, which we don't expect, they will go towards VSDC's work to fulfill its mission. In order to ensure the success of the evening and limit late cancellations, **the fee is refundable until 5 days before the event. [NOTE the fee increase due to the increase in the cost of food]** BECAUSE THERE IS A FEE FOR THIS EVENT, MEETUP DOES NOT ALLOW FOR A WAITLIST ONCE THE RSVPs ARE FULL. **What to Expect:** Join us for a relaxed, supportive gathering where we'll create together, share our process, and connect mindfully. No art experience necessary, all levels and all creative expressions welcome! **What to Bring:** Please bring your own art materials and supplies, whatever you enjoy working with! **Ideas for materials:** sketchbooks, journals, pastels, crayons, markers, colored pencils, collage materials, yarn, lego, diamond art, iPad or tablet for digital drawing, or anything else that calls to you. Bring paper or surfaces to work on as well. There's no right or wrong, just bring what feels good! 🙂 **What we'll do:** **6:00 pm:** Arrive, get settled, grab a drink/snack, and find a spot **6:10 pm:** Set out your supplies, take a breath, and ease in **6:15–7:30 pm:** Create, chat, unwind, and follow the good vibes **7:30 pm:** Gentle wrap-up with *Come/leave whenever, this is relaxed and flexible gathering!* **Location:** **Wegmans cafe** (one level above the store), 11620 Monument Dr, Fairfax, VA 22030.
