Please take a good lunch or bring along some snacks if you feel hungry along the way. Please be punctual. You are encouraged to be slightly early to avoid disappointments. From Fort to Faith Walk
From Fort to Faith Walk
From Fort to Faith\*\*: A journey through Singapore’s church history and living witness. This walk begins at \*\* Fort Canning\*\*, where colonial power once sat at the center of early Singapore, and follows a path through some of the city’s historic churches before ending at a welcoming community space for shared reflection. From Fort Canning, the route moves to the \*\*Armenian Apostolic Church\*\*, a reminder of the small but influential migrant communities that helped shape colonial Singapore. It then continues to the \*\*Cathedral of the Good Shepherd\*\*, one of the oldest Catholic churches in the country, before heading to the \*\*Church of Saints Peter and Paul at Queen Street\*\*, which reflects the growth of diverse Catholic communities in the city. The walk concludes at *Crossing Café* at the \*\*Catholic Centre, Waterloo Street\*\*, as a final stop to support special need cafe, participants can also sit down over a meal and reflect together on the journey—from colonial power and early church foundations to the continuing work of community, inclusion, and care in Singapore today. We are also privileged to be led by licensed guide Jeremy Gwee with a passionate interest for interpreting places, people, and faith in meaningful ways, from whom we have already enjoyed and learned much during his last guided tour of St Andrew’s Cathedral. **Please read this:** #1 – Attendance. This is a number-controlled event. Please come only if you are on the attending list. Please check your calendar and make sure you can come before RSVP, so as not to deny someone else who genuinely wishes to come. #2 – Punctuality. We will move out at 8.35am sharp. ** SURREAL ULU SEMBAWANG SUNRISE HIKE + MANDAI WATERFALL! **
** SURREAL ULU SEMBAWANG SUNRISE HIKE + MANDAI WATERFALL! **
Hi members, ready to explore some lesser known places? Or check out some of those lovely lush grasslands, shaded forests, nature trails with flowing streams and spectacular lake views that we used to do some time back? How about taking photos at a picturesque waterfall & enjoy the experience? For some me-time, (one of the quiet unknown hikes that I used to do years back hidden in the lesser known parts of Mandai and Woodlands that offers some breathtaking views especially in the early morning when it is misty) offers an ideal place for all who love nature and 'forest-bathing'. Enjoy the sounds of the chirping birds, the rustling flow of the meandering streams, memories of forgotten kampongs and farms, shaded canopies, the reflection of the lake etc. These will be our morning workout hike in nature. Total distance : 10 km (Woodlands South PCN to Mandai Waterfall) So let's all get our hiking boots ready and check out these beautiful tranquil nature trails again that offers some amazing lookouts! Guided Hike - Sterling Forest Secret view
Guided Hike - Sterling Forest Secret view
In order to officially secure your spot on this event and to receive the details email of where to exactly park and meet with us you must register on our site by clicking the link below. https://www.trailboundproject.com/service-page/guided-hike-secret-view?referral=service_list_widget Our events typically fill up at 24 people for guided hikes! You won't see the attendees here on meetup as registrations are on our site but we wanted to let you know that we typically see large outings for all of our events! This guided hike has a nominal non-refundable $20 registration fee to secure your spot. The Secret View hike is a short out-and-back 2.5-mile hike with 450' of elevation up and down in a less popular part of Sterling Forest State Park in NY. We named it the Secret View hike because it is a very little-known view only accessible via unmarked trails. The view technically has a name, but you'll need to join us on the hike to find out what it is! The only hikers who visit it are locals who are... well... in the know! It's an easy-to-moderate hike that we'll take at a leisurely pace. We park at the trailhead near a medium-sized beautiful lake and head off on one of the park's unmarked woods roads. After taking in the interesting sights and features along this flat section, we turn onto another unmarked trail to head up to the small ridge. At the summit of this unnamed peak in New York, we find ourselves looking out at an incredible 180-degree view of the forests and peaks of New Jersey without any evidence of civilization. Since it's a short hike, we'll take our time resting, chatting, and enjoying the view at the top before we head back down. The parking and hike details are emailed after registration.

Beaverdam Reservoir Park & Lark Brewing Co.
Beaverdam Reservoir Park & Lark Brewing Co.
We will be hiking the loop trail, (counter clockwise) around the BeaverDam Reservoir starting at the brand new Reservoir Park VisitorsCenter. Beautiful views of the water and varied woodland areas. This is an 7.5 MILE loop hike around one of Northern Virginia's largest bodies of water. The loop is mainly flat with a tiny hill or two. I've rated the loop moderate because the distance is 7.5 miles and we will be hiking about 22 minutes per mile - just under 3 miles per hour. After the hike we'll head over to Lark Brewing. 24205 James Monroe Hwy, Aldie, VA 20105 for food and beverages. I will make every effort for your safety. You are hiking at your own risk. Dogs are welcome on the hike as long as they are good with groups, friendly and you follow all leash laws. I like kids but this is an adult event so please no kids or any one under 21. We do start on time so please plan accordingly. Meet in front of the bathrooms by the parking lot.
