If the stimulus is too quick or sharp: • the brain fixes the beginning more strongly • then the ending • and processes the middle roughly or in an averaged way This is a general principle of sensory systems — not only tactile, but also visual and auditory. This is the fourth in my "Satan" series. In the third session we ended with John Milton. We will continue the theme with William Blake, who was visited spiritually by Milton just as Milton was visited by his own muse. Blake was an engraver, poet, writer and painter. Many today believe he was a creative genius. He has inspired creatives including Bob Dylan, Jim Morrison, Van Morrison, Billy Bragg, the beat poets including Allen Ginsberg, *Brave New World* author Aldous Huxley, *Hannibal* author Thomas Harris, *His Dark Materials* author Philip Pullman, *V for Vendetta* author Alan Moore and many others. And he has inspired me, and helped me understand what creativity really means, and how to live life authentically. During his life-time he was virtually unknown, and he died a pauper. A small exhibition of his work when he was 50 resulted in a solitary review, which said that Blake was an unfortunate lunatic who ought by rights to be in an asylum were it not for his mild manners. The poet William Wordsworth wrote, “There was no doubt that this poor man was mad” and the art critic John Ruskin called him “diseased and wild.” Even his wife said she didn't understand his work. He only sold 30 copies of his most popular book in his life-time, and didn't sell a single copy of others. But Blake's insights into creativity and existence don't require years of study — they require a willingness to see differently and have a very individual approach life. La excursión de senderismo desde **Amer** hacia las ermitas de **Santa Brígida, Santa Elena y Sant Roc** es una ruta que combina naturaleza, historia y unas vistas privilegiadas del paisaje volcánico y boscoso de la zona. El camino suele iniciarse en el casco antiguo de Amer, un pueblo con encanto marcado por su plaza porticada y el antiguo monasterio benedictino, que dan un ambiente tranquilo antes de adentrarse en la montaña. El sendero asciende suavemente entre **encinares, alcornoques y rincones de vegetación mediterránea**, siguiendo antiguos caminos forestales y tramos más estrechos donde se respira la humedad del sotobosque. Tras la primera subida aparece la **ermita de Santa Brígida**, estratégicamente situada en un mirador natural que permite contemplar Amer, el valle del Brugent y, en días claros, parte de la zona volcánica de la Garrotxa. Siguiendo la cresta del relieve, el sendero continúa hacia la **ermita de Santa Elena**, más pequeña y recogida, rodeada de un paisaje más frondoso. Es un punto ideal para descansar, disfrutar del silencio y observar el vuelo de rapaces que suelen aprovechar las corrientes térmicas. El último tramo lleva hasta la **ermita de Sant Roc**, situada entre bosques y con un ambiente más salvaje. El sendero ofrece pequeñas subidas y bajadas entre rocas y árboles, proporcionando variedad y un toque aventurero sin llegar a ser técnico. Desde Sant Roc se obtienen nuevas perspectivas de la comarca y se siente la conexión con las antiguas tradiciones populares y religiosas que dieron vida a estos pequeños templos. La ruta circular, excursión equilibrada: **paisaje, historia local, miradores naturales y un contacto directo con la tranquilidad de la montaña**.
