Offering of sound to the temple you reside is a purification process. The space within is cleansed and is receptive to what is. The Sounds offered in this session may intensify your presence. And that, offering presence is said to be healing .
The function of the instrument Gong and Singing Bowls are commonly used in sacred places to induce quietude and silence – the cosmic background Sound and space where life thrives best. This is a simple and gentle method to evoke stillness. And as a consequence, the act of doing is refined to be meditative and focused.

**About the Instructor – Hwee Hwee**
Hwee is a yoga instructor who hurt her wrist, dampening her asana practice and just could not recover it 100% with physiotherapy and Traditional Chinese Medicine. A calling drawn her to **Reiki healing** and her recovery progressed so much more! Hwee is an advanced Reiki Level 3 practitioner.
With yoga, Hwee fell in love with the **low impact** workout (which was gentle for her teenage injured lower back). Wanting to know yoga beyond the physical aspects (asanas), she went to one of the oldest yoga school in world, G.S. College of Yoga and Cultural Synthesis, Kaivalydham in Lonavla, Pune, India in 2017 and attained her Hatha Yoga teaching certifications from both Kaivalydham and Quality Council of India (QCI) by Indian Yoga Association.
Hwee is also into meditation since 2013 and with Hatha Yoga now, the practice between asana (physical exercise) and meditation has integrated into one.

* If you are coming from the **Botanic Gardens MRT Exit A** (circle line), (1) enter the gate then walk through Trellis Garden. (2) Take the middle path. (3) Turn right once exiting Trellis Garden. (4) Look out for the bamboo trees. Then walk on the stone path. (5) You should see the open lawn with bougainvilleas. (6) Look out for my Yellow bag.

*Introducing A Journey Into Self - a series that invites you to pause and turn your attention inward, through creative exploration and contemplative practice. This intimate series offers a doorway into deepening your understanding of and relationship with yourself—through poetry, art, and reflective journaling.*
*In our special Valentine's Day edition of A Journey Into Self, we'll be using poetry as our first medium of exploration.*
We want to be seen, to belong, to be loved. Despite being separate entities protecting our own self interests, ***we feel an irresistible yearning to connect ourselves to a greater whole***.
## **Join us as we explore:**
* why we feel separate yet yearn for connection
* deeper dimensions of connection
* connecting with our inner or higher self
* the unity that underlies all life
**Poetry...**
...is one of the ways humanity has expressed this yearning for connection, especially that of a much deeper one. Good poetry almost always forces us to look deeper into ourselves, to look closely at our inner struggles and pave a way for higher aspirations to shine through the mud.
We’ll be writing our own poems on what connection means after a short meditation, allowing inspiration to flow from this deeper place of unity and oneness where connection does not need to be sought.

When everything is in full illumination, we are able to see with greater clarity what is or not working. It is a time to celebrate our growth, track our progress and reflect on how far we have come.

Humanist Community Celebrating Darwin Day
Dale Gnidovec, Curator of the Orton Hall Museum of Geology at The Ohio State University, will be presenting a program he has wanted to share with us for a long time: Plate Tectonics. His description of his program:
Continents on the move - Nothing in Earth history makes sense without moving continents - it tells us why mountains, volcanoes, minerals, and fossils are where they are. This talk examines the evidence for continental drift, why it was disbelieved, and explains how the more-encompassing theory of plate tectonics was developed and eventually proven. Dale is an energetic, incredibly knowledgeable, and very entertaining speaker and this will be another wonderful program by Dale. Hope to see you there!
