OpenClaw: Getting it alive
OpenClaw: Getting it alive
OpenClaw is having a moment. A personal AI agent that runs on your own machine, talks to you and actually gets things done. **NOTE: Registration needs to be completed here: [giveago.co/register/openclaw-1](https://giveago.co/register/openclaw-1)** It runs on your own machine - a Mac Mini, a Raspberry Pi, a VPS - and actually does things: runs commands, browses the web, manages files, talks to your apps. You reach it through WhatsApp, Telegram, or whatever chat app you already use. It works in the background, remembers context between sessions, and connects to whatever AI model you prefer. No engineering background required. If you can install an app and follow a guide, you can do this. We're running this as part of a three-event OpenClaw series this June, with this being the first. The following events build on the setup and focus on getting productive with the agent and applying it to real work use cases. **NOTE: Registration needs to be completed here: [giveago.co/register/openclaw-1](https://giveago.co/register/openclaw-1)** We'll be working through it together at Baseline, tables of people at different stages, helping each other along. Fresh install or halfway there, there's a spot for you. The goal is simple: leave with OpenClaw alive. Connected to WhatsApp or Telegram. With a personality you've written. Doing at least one real thing. What we'll work through together: * Getting OpenClaw set up (locally or hosted) * Connect to a messaging app: WhatsApp or Telegram * Picking the best model for the job * Writing a SOUL.md: giving your agent a personality that's actually yours * Setting up a MEMORY.md layer * Connecting one real skill before the day is out **NOTE: Registration needs to be completed here: [giveago.co/register/openclaw-1](https://giveago.co/register/openclaw-1)** Prep materials will be sent in advance. Come ready, or come from zero. Both are fine. Bring a laptop. That's it. Run of show: 11:00 Doors open, coffee 11:30 Intro and setup overview 12:00 Build time 13:00 Lunch 13:45 Back to building 15:30 Share what you've got running 16:00 Close **NOTE: Registration needs to be completed here: [giveago.co/register/openclaw-1](https://giveago.co/register/openclaw-1)** \-\-\- **Community** [Give(a)Go](https://giveago.co/?utm_source=luma) is a Dublin-based builder community running hands-on events for ambitious people who make things. 30+ events. 1,000+ attendees. Partners include PostHog, LangChain, ElevenLabs, HubSpot and Windsurf. One rule: learning by building.

👋👌 International Mishmash Meetup - NEW Friendships at R.I.O.T !!! 🍻🍺
Hello Mishmashers 👋 Excited to see you at our next meetup! **We’re changing things up and meeting directly at R.I.O.T.**, one of the coolest spots in town for good conversations, easy socialising, and a bit more fun. Here’s what you can look forward to: 💬 **Great chats with lovely people!** Whether you’re a local or from the other side of the world, you’re very welcome here. 🌍 **Not a native English speaker?** Awesome. You’ll get to practice with native speakers in a relaxed, no-pressure setting. 🇮🇪 **Are you a native English speaker?** Cool. Chat in English or find someone to practice another language with. Why not mix it up? ✨ We’re a diverse, super-friendly, and inclusive bunch, open to everyone, whether you’re shy, outgoing, or somewhere in between. 🎯 Our awesome organizers are always around to make sure things run smoothly and everyone feels included. 💡 One of the nicest things we hear again and again: even introverts feel at ease here. That’s something we’re really proud of. 🤝 **Instant connections!** You might walk in alone, but you’ll probably leave with new friends. 📅 **This Saturday at 4:00pm!** We’ll be meeting at **R.I.O.T.**, in a brilliant private space downstairs. It’s a much bigger setup than before, with room for **up to 100 people**, so there’s more space to mingle, move around, meet new people, and settle into conversations naturally. The vibe is exactly what Mishmash is about: relaxed, international, social, and fun. Great atmosphere, proper pub energy, and plenty of space for chats, laughs, language practice, and spontaneous connections. 📍 **How to find us:** Come into R.I.O.T. and take the stairs on the left down to the basement room. That’s where the Mishmash crew will be waiting for you. 🎉 **Theme: “International Mishmash”** A chill space for people from all over, including Ireland, to swap stories, share laughs, and practice languages if you fancy. Shout-out to our lovely Irish regulars! 🍻 And the best part? Since we’re already at R.I.O.T., you can stay on for tasty burgers, proper pints, and more good craic. No need to move venue this time! *** Want to support the group? 🙏 Running this thing costs over €200 a year, yep, all out of pocket for now 😅 If you’d like to chip in, we’d really appreciate it, click on one of the links: **[PayPal](https://paypal.me/meetuppay)** **[Revolut](https://revolut.me/michelf9a)** — you can pay with your card, no need to be on Revolut! Any amount! Your help keeps the group going and opens the door for even more cool events, like day trips and gigs. Cheers and see you soon! – Michele & the Meetup Crew

Dinner at Lao Chinese Korean Hotpot
Dinner at Lao Chinese Korean Hotpot
Join us for dinner at **Lao Chinese Korean BBQ**. Table is booked for the hotpot menu (unfortunately cannot mix BBQ and hotpot tables) To secure your spot, a _€3 deposit is required_ when signing up and being added to the attend list. Without the deposit, you’ll be placed on the waiting list. [Secure my spot](https://revolut.me/aphidethp) [Restaurant’s website ](https://www.lao.ie) [Insta](https://www.instagram.com/laodublin?igsh=NG4zbTB3aWo0Yzdw) This event is free to attend, but please note the following: • Due to an increasing number of no-shows, last minute RSVP and the fact that some restaurants require a deposit for reservations, a deposit will now be required via [Revolut](https://revolut.me/aphidethp). It will be deducted from your bill. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable. • The restaurant will apply a service fee for groups, typically around 1%. • Each participant is responsible for paying for their own food and drinks. • Some restaurants may not split the bill, so to keep things smooth and hassle-free, it’s a good idea to bring some cash or have Revolut ready for easy payments. • If a restaurant requires a booking fee, we may need to consider alternative venues to ensure a seamless experience for everyone. • RSVP updates are essential: If you can no longer attend, please update your RSVP so others on the waiting list can join. This also helps us manage reservations more effectively.

Let’s play… BORG-O-Rama / Hex and the City
Let’s play… BORG-O-Rama / Hex and the City
Join us every Sunday and tell a story as a group by playing a beginner-friendly roleplaying game. Every week we have 2-3 different games - you will choose which game you play on the day. All materials provided and rules are explained at the start of each game, you just need to bring your imagination. 🎭 **This week's facilitators:** * 🧬 **Cyrus** with *[BORG-O-Rama!](https://cydeadhunter.itch.io/borg-o-rama)*, a one page RPG mixing sci-fi horror and goofy comedy. You are a group of Alien Cyborgs puppeting human bodies on a secret mission to TAKE OVER THE EARTH!!! As the game goes on the players will begin to experience *Human Emotions* for the first time and perhaps change their allegiance to the BORG… * 🌆 **Vishnu** with *[Hex and the City](https://theinvulnerabletide.itch.io/hex-and-the-city)*, an urban fantasy game based on *Lasers and Feelings*. You are all that stands between the forces of darkness and the innocent people that don't believe in them. Whatever hi-jinks and personal drama you have going on in the background, you have always managed to come through and save this City. Or at least, you have until SERENITY, THE CHOSEN ONE got herself grievously wounded in the last battle, leaving you with no prophetic visions to guide you, or convenient one-shot monster killing powers while she recovers. (Or maybe she's off "recuperating" with her demon boyfriend again, who knows?) *** Feel free to ask the organisers any questions you have (here or on our [Discord server](https://tinyurl.com/indie-rpgs-dublin)).
🌈 Pride Books & Social 🍸
🌈 Pride Books & Social 🍸
📚 Pride Month is a chance to come together around stories that feel lived-in, complicated, and real, and this discussion invites us to sit with those voices rather than just skim them. Its roots go back to the Stonewall Riots, and since then Pride literature has grown into a bold, varied body of work—from Giovanni’s Room to A single man and Normal People, each capturing different shades of love and identity. As we read, the aim isn’t just analysis but conversation—what resonates, what challenges us, and what these stories say about how people find themselves and each other. Let's grab a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and discuss books on pride —whether poetry, fiction, or non-fiction. Bring your physical book or e-reader. There's no formal structure or agenda—just books and good conversation.💬 It's a perfect place to get book recommendations and rediscover your reading momentum if you've hit a slump. We welcome readers of all backgrounds and interests! ⚠️**Something Happened?** If something unpleasant happened to you, it may happen to others. Even if it seems minor, don't hesitate to reach out to me. 🔍 **How to find us?** * When I reach the venue, I'll leave a comment in the meetup where the group is seated. Normally, the booking is in my name, so you can ask the staff for the group. * If you're unable to find us, leave a comment in the meetup page. I'll be able to guide you. We highly encourage you to move between tables and strike up conversations with fellow book lovers. These discussions about literature and reading recommendations are often the highlight of the event! As an organizer, I'm always looking for feedback about the event and suggestions for new events, so feel free to suggest ideas to me. 💡 I look forward to seeing you all! 😊

[FREE] Mystery Walk (Luas + Walk) - Southside Route 4
[FREE] Mystery Walk (Luas + Walk) - Southside Route 4
IMPORTANT: Please have a Leap card with money on it before you join us for this walk as we are travelling by Luas after we meet. Hello! 🙂 Meeting place: Pret A Manger - beside Harcourt Luas. Meeting time: 10am onwards. Departure time: 1030am sharp. I'll tell you the plan when you arrive. Basically, we take a Luas together south from Harcourt and we walk. The route is approximately 16km. There will be time for coffee/cake, toilets etc. We start and finish at a Luas stop on the Green Line. If you live in south Dublin along the Green Line, you are welcome to message me the day before this event to ask me which Luas stop we are going to and you can join us there instead of having to come to the cory centre. Though you are welcome to join the group at the start at Pret beside Harcourt if you prefer. This event is free though donations (cash or Revolut) are very much welcome as I renew my organiser subscription annually in the Summer and I prefer to cover this cost of $215 (they invoice us in dollars) through optional donations in the Summer instead of having a set fee per event. Thanks! Note / Disclaimer: Attending this event and every event in this group is entirely in every possible way at your own risk. Any questions, message me. PLEASE don't cancel on the day or forget to join us. It's important you join us if you sign up as it means people on the waiting list lose out if you don't take your place. If you're new, please don't be shy, message me if you have any questions, and you can either join us inside Pret or join us as we wait the last 5 minutes outside Pret before going to the Luas. Thanks! Alan

The End of Human-Scale AppSec
The End of Human-Scale AppSec
For decades, application security has been built around a simple assumption: humans are the primary producers of software. We train developers, review their pull requests, model threats in design meetings, and build controls around human decision-making. That assumption is rapidly breaking down. As AI coding assistants evolve into autonomous software agents, organizations will gain access to an effectively unlimited engineering workforce capable of producing software at a speed no human team can match. The pressure to adopt these systems will be driven not by curiosity, but by competition. Companies that successfully harness agentic development will ship faster, iterate faster, and potentially outpace those that do not. This shift forces a fundamental rethinking of application security. The future of AppSec is not securing developers—it is governing an agentic workforce. Threat modeling, code review, security testing, and change management will not disappear, but they will need to operate at machine speed and increasingly be performed by systems rather than people. In this talk, Ken Johnson, CTO of DryRun Security, explores what the next decade of application security may look like, the assumptions that will no longer hold, and why security professionals must understand these systems deeply if they hope to influence the future rather than react to it.

AI Meetup (June): Secure AI Agents
Important: Register on [AICamp website](https://www.aicamp.ai/event/eventdetails/W2026061814) is required for admission. **Description:** Welcome to the AI meetup in Washington DC. Join us for deep dive tech talks on AI, GenAI, LLMs and Agents, hands-on experiences on code labs, workshops, and networking with speakers and fellow developers. **Agenda:** \* 5:30pm\~6:00pm: Checkin, Food/drink and networking \* 6:00pm\~8:00pm: Tech talks and Q&A \* 8:00pm: Happy Hour at Courthouse Social (cross the street) **Tech Talk: Secure Developer Environments in the Age of AI Agents** **Speaker:** Patrick Brown (Coder) **Abstract:** Federal engineering teams are under pressure to ship faster while meeting some of the most demanding security and compliance requirements in the world. In this talk, Patrick Brown of Coder explores how cloud development environments (CDEs) give agencies a foundation to accelerate software delivery without sacrificing control — and why that foundation matters even more as AI-powered coding agents enter the workflow. He'll cover how CDEs keep source code off endpoints, enforce zero-trust access patterns, and provide the consistent, ephemeral infrastructure that both human developers and AI agents need to operate safely at scale. **Speakers:** Stay tuned as we are updating speakers and schedules. If you have a keen interest in speaking to our community, we invite you to submit topics for consideration: [Submit Topics](https://forms.gle/JkMt91CZRtoJBSFUA) **Sponsors:** We are actively seeking sponsors to support AI developers community. Whether it is by offering venue spaces, providing food, or cash sponsorship. Sponsors will not only speak at the meetups, receive prominent recognition, but also gain exposure to our extensive membership base of 5,000+ AI developers in D.C and 500K+ worldwide.
