Social Book Club - Fantasy Circle - Nettle and Bone
Welcome to the "Fantasy and Historical Fiction" Reading Circle of the Social Book Club!
We will meet to discuss **T. Kingfisher's** fantasy novel **"Nettle and Bone"** (243 pages).
The meeting point is at JO&JOE on the 5th floor. Drinks and some food can be bought there, so if possible please buy something for reasons of politeness, if you can afford it, since they provide the space for free.
Book Description:
*After years of seeing her sisters suffer at the hands of an abusive prince, Marra—the shy, convent-raised, third-born daughter—has finally realized that no one is coming to their rescue. No one, except for Marra herself.*
*Seeking help from a powerful gravewitch, Marra is offered the tools to kill a prince—if she can complete three impossible tasks. But, as is the way in tales of princes, witches, and daughters, the impossible is only the beginning.*
*On her quest, Marra is joined by the gravewitch, a reluctant fairy godmother, a strapping former knight, and a chicken possessed by a demon. Together, the five of them intend to be the hand that closes around the throat of the prince and frees Marra's family and their kingdom from its tyrannous ruler at last.*

Meaningful Connections
*A gentle gathering for friendship, love, and real human depth*
**Genuine connection can sometimes feel rare.**
We meet many people.
We exchange words.
We scroll, we swipe.
And still, something deeper remains untouched.
**This is not a dating event**.
Not networking.
Not therapy.
It is a gently guided evening for thoughtful adults who value depth over small talk and who long for meaningful connection — whether friendship, love, or simply resonance.
Through guided conversations and reflective moments, we create a relaxed and respectful space to meet beyond roles and expectations.
You may leave with a new acquaintance, a spark, or simply the quiet reassurance that depth still exists.
For women and men 40+.
Limited group size to maintain quality and balance.
I look forward to welcoming you.
Warmly,
Dieter
PS: A contribution of €25 will be collected to cover the costs, like sandwiches, drinks, cookies, coffee, tea, and room . Additional donations are most welcome.

Frauen*kreis / Women* Circle
*english below*

**Women\*’s Circle \| Setting Boundaries and Saying No**
**Sunday\, April 12 \| 12:00–14:00**
**Language:** English or German, depending on participants
≈ *We already have a small community and are happy to welcome new women\* through Meetup.* ≈
Join us on Sunday, April 12 for a small and intimate women\*’s circle on the theme *Setting Boundaries and Saying No*. We reflect on how well we notice and maintain our boundaries, and where we struggle with this.
Our women\*’s circles offer a supportive and conscious space to slow down, connect more deeply, and share what is currently present within us in relation to the theme. We begin together with a cup of tea and take some time to arrive and warm up. During the two hours – with a short break in between – we share our experiences, feelings, and challenges, as well as how we relate to them. Throughout the session, we also include guided body and breathing exercises connected to the theme.
Each circle is limited to a maximum of six women\* so that everyone has enough space to speak, listen, and be heard.
All who identify in any way with the term woman or FLINTA are welcome.
**Important:** We will be sitting on the floor on a Japanese mat. Some cushions are available, but feel free to bring your own cushion and/or a blanket if you would like to be more comfortable. If sitting on the floor is not comfortable for you, chairs and a sofa are also available.
Please try to arrive on time so that we can begin and end together.
If you have any questions, feel free to message me privately :)

Sunday Screenings in the Living Room
Weekly screenings from a large archive of many of the most significant, yet seldom seen and rarely accessible cinematic masterpieces in the history of film - from its earliest beginnings to the present day. Screenings are in original language, if English, or original language with English subtitles.
Films are selected democratically on the inspiration of a brief pre-screening discussion. The selected title is typically a "neglected gem" that most of us discover together for the first time. Individual taste is not a criterion and all participants are expected to put the interests of the group as a whole above personal preference or prejudice. In this sense, the emphasis is on openness, exploration, and surprise. Each screening is followed by an in-depth group discussion, led and moderated by the curator.
WARNNG: FilmStory is not just about watching movies! Rather, it's a socially responsible, intellectual engagement, involving an organic approach to group study of film language, philosophy, art, history, politics, and technology. In this sense, the film is always merely the current highlight in an explorative, ongoing group discussion.
**FilmStory** is a members-only series that involves a closely knit community of cinephiles. Events take place every Sunday in a comfortable, private setting with limited capacity. Participation is reserved primarily for regular members, but we're always ready to make new friends!
Non-regular members may request to meet the community and, upon acceptance as a "new joiner," are welcome to participate in one event, according to space availability. New joiners are asked to make a €6 member dues contribution in advance of the requested date. New members receive a message of confirmation and the address of the Living Room in 1080 Vienna upon receipt of their dues contribution.
**FilmStory** is presented and hosted by **[KulturSalon Wien](https://www.meetup.com/kultursalon-wien/)**.

Crone's circle of women
Welcome to all who identify as women—those in their wisdom years and those journeying toward them, embracing cycles of growth, transformation, and deepening self-awareness.
This space honors women celebrating the strength, creativity, and wisdom that unfold through each season of the feminine path.
In this circle, a crone is not defined by age but by attitude - someone who carries or seeks the wisdom, courage, and self-knowledge that comes with lived experience.
You are invited to join the Crone’s circle of women coming together to share wisdom, experience, and inspiration. This gathering offers a welcoming space for reflection, storytelling, and meaningful conversation about life’s journeys, challenges, and triumphs.
Whether you seek connection, personal growth, or simply a moment of peace among kindred spirits, this meeting is an opportunity to nurture your inner strength and celebrate the wisdom within us all.
Come as you are.
To guide and enrich our time together, we will be using books and other creative means—such as rituals ceremonies, journaling, art, and shared activities—to spark insight, deepen connection, and inspire personal growth.
Naming of the group will be done in circle.
Please bring a journal for our journey.
Books can be bought through Sticks and Stones.
The first book will be:
