Join us for a relaxed sketching session from 2–4pm on Sundays followed by a warm drink and a chat in a nearby café. 😊 We usually meet at the V&A Museum or outside in a local park when the weather allows. Please check the location listed in the event details each week, as it may change depending on rain, sun, or gallery access. This is a calm, informal, free meetup — you're welcome to draw at your own pace, chat a little, or just get into the flow. It’s open to all levels, from total beginners to experienced artists. 🖍️ Art materials: In museums/galleries, we can only use dry, non-messy materials: pens, biros, colour pencils, markers, and fine liners (no paint, pastel, or charcoal). In parks or outdoor spaces, feel free to bring paints, pastels, or whatever you like! Bring your own sketchbook and materials, and come just as you are. We’d love to draw with you. ✨✏️☕

Express your creativity drawing a live in-person life model each week. Beginners and all levels of ability welcome. The fee is £12 per session, cash on arrival or pay via phone. All materials and equipment provided free, but feel free to bring your own. A different model will do a variety of poses each week, with one long pose. Full free instruction available, on request, for beginners. Classes run by fully qualified art teacher from CSM UAL. Small charge for paper, 25 pence per sheet. Free Tea and Coffee always available. Accessible-format life drawing and portrait session with a range of poses from 2 minute tutor-led warm up exercises to 15 mins in the first half of the class with general tips and tuition. In the second half, a long portrait pose of 35-40 mins with a demo/draw-along led by tutor Rod who will show and talk through the process of drawing a portrait in front of the class. There is the option of doing a life drawing or a portrait as the model will be fully nude throughout. One-to-feedback given where required. Material and half-time tea provided.

Join us for a FREE GUIDED TOUR of the National Gallery, and an inebriated evening of socialisation at a nearby bar afterwards. I will be giving a guided tour of the National Gallery to the members of LGBT Culture Lovers group, throughout this year in multiple parts. In this first event of the series, we will be looking at the early Italian paintings (13-15th centuries). Included are Duccio, Giotto, Bellini, Giovanni di Paolo, Uccello, and many others. The tour will last around 60 minutes. **And here is the agenda:** * 2pm: (optional) meet at the cafe inside the National Gallery (Bar Giorgio -- it's right across the Sainsbury Wing entrance) for coffee and croissant and friendly chat * 2:45pm: Meet in the foyer of the National Gallery (Sainsbury Wing Entrance). We will wait for 15 minutes. * 3pm: The tour starts right on the dot. * 4pm-4:30pm: We will head to a bar nearby for socialising. I hope to see you all for any part of this event. Julie

We are an informal and friendly group who meet in one of the studios at the Cockpit Theatre to develop our skills and confidence in a relaxed environment. We will go through a few exercises and try out some: improvisation, script work, duologues or monologues, with participants optionally bringing their own material or pieces to work on together. The exercises and things we work on differ from week to week. Beginners are welcome. The workshop is led by Mark Ramsay, a trained actor with almost 30 years of film and stage experience with assistance from a guest facilitator. **On Sunday 1st February, we’re really excited to be heading back to the Tate Modern for our latest fast-paced, Photo Scavenger Hunt.** Yep we'll be returning to London's most famous modern art Gallery for one of our most unique afternoons of social fun. If you've not been to one of these before, our photo hunts are a unique mix of a fast-paced **Scavenger Hunt** and **Where’s Wally?,** set in one of the world’s most famous galleries. We’ve curated a fresh selection of intriguing background characters, unusual objects and eye-catching snippets in the paintings across the gallery. And your team’s mission is to **locate as many of them as you can** within the allotted time. To help you find them, you’ll be armed with clues and photo hints, but they are designed to be easy to miss - so you’ll need to keep your wits about you and your eyes peeled. And that’s not all - there’ll also be extra creative challenges along the way, giving your team the chance to bag valuable bonus points. The team with the most points by the end of the night will be crowned the winners, with **some great prizes up for grabs.** And once the hunt wraps up, we’ll head back to the pub to grab a drink, crown the winners and hand out the prizes. We'll also then be keeping the fun going, by getting out our huge collection of board games for you to enjoy with your new friends! This event is a **poetry social**, a chance to meet poets and share your poetry and poetry thoughts informally. Please be aware this is not our regular session of around the table poetry sharing, but a **chance to chat and connect with other London poets**. That said, you are of course welcome to read and perform your poetry for those who want to hear it. Just be aware there can be some background noise in the area where we meet. There will be some tables and chairs set up for us **outside the poetry library on the fifth floor**. Coffee and tea are available in the cafe on the ground floor. Also be aware there may be some external noise from the nearby children's library and south bank centre members attending events. If you have not attended our group before, please introduce yourself to David, the organiser. This session is right next to the poetry library, so a perfect opportunity to browse and share published poetry with others as well. Make sure to be quiet when inside and using the library.
