Join us for a relaxed sketching session from 2–4pm on Sundays followed by a warm drink and a chat in a nearby café. 😊 We usually meet at the V&A Museum or outside in a local park when the weather allows. Please check the location listed in the event details each week, as it may change depending on rain, sun, or gallery access. This is a calm, informal, free meetup — you're welcome to draw at your own pace, chat a little, or just get into the flow. It’s open to all levels, from total beginners to experienced artists. 🖍️ Art materials: In museums/galleries, we can only use dry, non-messy materials: pens, biros, colour pencils, markers, and fine liners (no paint, pastel, or charcoal). In parks or outdoor spaces, feel free to bring paints, pastels, or whatever you like! Bring your own sketchbook and materials, and come just as you are. We’d love to draw with you. ✨✏️☕

Express your creativity drawing a live in-person life model each week. Beginners and all levels of ability welcome. The fee is £12 per session, cash on arrival or pay via phone. All materials and equipment provided free, but feel free to bring your own. A different model will do a variety of poses each week, with one long pose. Full free instruction available, on request, for beginners. Classes run by fully qualified art teacher from CSM UAL. Small charge for paper, 25 pence per sheet. Free Tea and Coffee always available. Entrance at weekends in Gravel Lane. Buzz 101 CALL to be let in. Accessible-format life drawing and portrait session with a range of poses from 2 minute tutor-led warm up exercises to 15 mins in the first half of the class with general tips and tuition. In the second half, a long portrait pose of 35-40 mins with a demo/draw-along led by tutor Rod who will show and talk through the process of drawing a portrait in front of the class. There is the option of doing a life drawing or a portrait as the model will be fully nude throughout. One-to-feedback given where required. Material and half-time tea provided.

**Please update your RSVP if you can’t make it.** ✨ I found out about this exhibition totally by accident, have been at the private view which happened on Thursday (as a friend of mine knows one of the artists, his work is amazing), so I’ve set up this meetup as it’s so good I thought it’s worth sharing with everyone. 🎨 This visit takes us into Exi, a powerful, introspective exhibition exploring themes of existentialism and what it means to be human. Through a range of artistic interpretations, the exhibition invites both artists and viewers to reflect on identity, purpose, and the personal journeys that shape our lives. Blending philosophy with visual expression, the works encourage quiet contemplation and open interpretation, offering a space to question, connect and consider our place in the world through art. Important to note:

1. We typically socialise at cafés after the exhibit, nice, independent ones, not chains and not at pubs. If the event is late on a Saturday we go to a nice bar/pub for drinks after. This meetup is inclusive and everyone is welcome to join.
2. If you get there before everyone and you're not sure what to do or where we are, post a comment on here and I will let you know where we will be.
3. Once we go in we may separate, feel free to explore the exhibit by yourself, we don't have to be together. Some people like chatting to others while exploring and other people prefer to be with their own thoughts. You are welcome to express yourself and do whatever helps you feel free.

4. If you are late or if you’ve booked for an earlier or later time don’t worry just go in and you’ll find us inside. Keep an eye on the comments as I’ll be posting updates.

I am proud to announce that we having our jam at the Temple Of Art & Music in Elephant & Castle!! The jam is called MIC DROP and it is a freestyle jam meaning there is going to be no setlist. The aim is for everyone to have fun and jam with an emphasis of trying to come up with new original sounds/songs and improvisation. The Temple Of Art and Music is a live music venue and bar in Elephant & Castle so I encourage anyone attending to bring friends as it will be great fun for them even if they are not playing. The venue has a PA system, drum kit, mics and guitar/bass amps. There is no guarantee that there will be cymbals or drum accessories with the drum kit at the venue. Drummers please being your own if you can. Like all our other jams it will be a chance to jam with other musicians playing the music that you love in a gentle environment with no judgement and no pressure. This jam also uniquely gives the opportunity to play in front of a crowd! Tickets are **£10 online** message us let us know what instrument you play and we will confirm if there is space and send you the Eventbrite link for the jam. At London Jam Sessions we have an active community on WhatsApp where we all discuss the upcoming jams and future events. Join our group for under-represented writers who want more time to write, feedback on their work, and tips on developing their craft. \*\* Please come to the Reading Room on the 2nd floor at The Wellcome Collection and look out for the Writer's Corner sign \*\* The Writers' Corner is a peer support community for under-represented writers, with bi-monthly meet-ups both online and in-person. Join us if you want more time and space to write, get feedback on your work or to develop your craft. We welcome all writers who tend to get overlooked by the publishing industry, or struggle to afford the costs of other writing courses and groups. We'll let you self define, but we particularly welcome writers of colour, those from the LGBTQ+ community, disabled writers, unpaid carers, low income writers and anyone who self-defines as a woman. While we have done our best to pick venues that are accessible to all, if you have any specific accesss requirements please send us a message so we can discuss how we can meet your needs. That includes anyone feeling anxious about attending a group for the first time (very happy for you to come a bit early, before everyone else, if that helps). While we are establishing the group we will be deciding week-by-week how each session will be structured. This will be led by the group. Once we are more established we will have a structured programme of events that you can chose to take part in.

The topic for February is "Transitions" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome.
