Join us for a relaxed sketching session from 6–8pm followed by a warm drink and a chat in a nearby café 😊 We usually meet at the V&A Museum or outside in a local park when the weather allows. Please check the location listed in the event details each week, as it may change depending on rain, sun, or gallery access. This is a calm, informal, free meetup — you're welcome to draw at your own pace, chat a little, or just get into the flow. It’s open to all levels, from total beginners to experienced artists. 🖍️ Art materials: In museums/galleries, we can only use dry, non-messy materials: pens, biros, colour pencils, markers, and fine liners (no paint, pastel, or charcoal). In parks or outdoor spaces, feel free to bring paints, pastels, or whatever you like! Bring your own sketchbook and materials, and come just as you are. We’d love to draw with you. ✨✏️☕

We also serve hot vegan food in the break, just as we do on Wednesday, so perfect if you arrive hungry. Expect a calm and relaxing atmosphere, lots of time to explore your drawing practice and tutored support. Real Life Drawing - Long Pose - Every Friday - 7pm: Dear Friends This is our legendary Friday Long Pose class - Each week we work with London's best models, providing you with tuition if you want it, and leaving you in peace if you prefer that. There is food and great company, this is the class for you if you would like to connect with a community of like minded artists. We will make you feel welcome and always have a good word to say about your work, even if you don't. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! The National Gallery's magnificent collection is far too large to visit in one go. By choosing to follow a specific theme it is possible to learn styles and attitudes of different periods in art history. For this first thematic tour - based on a Guide to Great Themes in Art which I am currently writing ( publication date Spring 2027) - let's look at LOVE to coincide with next day's Valentine's Day. ( Friday evenings are less crowded than Saturdays) We will recognise all aspects of love - its various highs and lows - in the art of Botticelli, Titian, Bronzino, Vermeer, Gainsborough and many others. The session is intended as an informal forum for conversation or just quiet contemplation of beautiful art at the end of a busy week . It promises to be educational as well ad engaging, relaxing and fun. Looking forward to seeing you there!

See if it’s true for you at noon on Sundays. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: 12:00 - quick intros. 12:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour. 1:10 - chat / take off / keep writing. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 1-1:30ish. Writing is very solitary.
