Enjoy drawing from a different model each week Tuesday, to an eclectic compilation of sounds, in a friendly welcoming community and local artist host, Anna @LAD. These sessions are held in-person and sometimes offering an online element too, in the home of this group, in the heart of Finsbury Park in a quirky and cosy cafe setting. Let's sketch around The Tower of London! Meet outside the Sundial at Tower Hill. Nice views of the Tower and Tower Bridge. A castle commissioned by William the Conqueror as a way to show the Anglos who was Le Chef. Nearest Stops: Tower Hill/Fenchurch Street Completely free of charge, no need to sign up, bring a friend! Look for the tall ginger fella sketching away as the central meetup spot, but feel free to roam as far and wide as you like and sketch anything you damn well please! Model Morgue inspires us once again! A small, relaxed creative space in Primrose Hill to slow down, express, connect and reset before the week ahead. This isn’t a taught class, and there’s no pressure to be “good” at art. It’s simply a quiet, non-judgemental environment where you can draw, paint, journal, or create in whatever way feels natural. You’re welcome to sit quietly and focus on your own work, or chat with others if you feel like it. Some materials will be available, but feel free to bring your own. The topic for April is "Water" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
