Season 35 of PlayOn Snooker Leagues at Hurricane Room in Kings Cross will be starting on Monday 18th May! Season 34 had 24 players across 4 Divisions (ranging from beginner / casual players to very good club players). If you are interested in joining, just contact me so I can find out a little more about your playing standard, and we'll take it from there! Its pretty straight forward and chilled :) Matches are first player to reach 4 frames (although first to 3 frames is permitted in some of the lower Divisions). Points are awarded for wins, whitewash victories, and high breaks (E.g. 25+ gets you a bonus point in Division 1… or 15+ in the lowest Division). There will be promotions and relegations for the top and bottom players in each Division. NOTE: By signing up to Season 35, you will need to commit to play once per week for the duration of the league (roughly 6 weeks). Of course if you can't make a week due to unforseen circumstances / holidays etc, then you must be willing to catch up your matches as soon as possible, or you may forfeit the points to your opponent. You can play your match on any day of the week that suits both you and your opponent (**there is no physical meet up on Monday 18th May**). The cost to enter is £25 (my fee for organising the leagues). This needs to be paid before you play your first match. Table fees need to be split between both players: £10 per hour (discounted league rate Sunday-Wednesday ALL DAY, or Thursday to Saturday before 6pm... otherwise £14 per hour) You must also be a member of Hurricane Room clubs to participate: (Students & Seniors - £17.50 per year... London Board Riders surf trip to Llangenith. All abilities welcome. Lots of schools and rental shops. Can head down Thursday or Friday. Surfers and kitesurfers welcome, there are some great spots around. How LBR works? We don't charge any fees, you simply use this group to coordinate rides and accommodation with others to keep the cost down and have mates to do activities with. How to book? DM hosts Alistair or Kristen to be added to the trip chat. From there we can add you to houses and car sharing depending on availability. Rules? Please be respectful of others. Join OutdoorLads popular weekly Thursday Bouldering evening at The Arch in Bermondsey. OutdoorLads London boulderers welcome all members of the LGBTQ+ community You'll be meeting with a supportive group of 5 to 10 plus boulderers who are always happy to introduce complete beginners or solve difficult bouldering problems with enthusiasts. We usually follow up with a pub visit. This event is for members of all levels of experience and all are welcome to come along to any of the sessions. Bouldering is a form of climbing where instead of long high routes, the 'problems', as they are referred to, tend to be shorter and focus on technique, balance, body positioning and sometimes power. Because of this different emphasis, bouldering doesn't have the hassle of climbing with ropes, harnesses and belaying, which makes the activities excellent for newcomers to the sport. If you're a seasoned climber you won't need convincing about the benefits of bouldering, but for those who've never climbed more than a staircase, the benefits are wide ranging: from the physical - improved strength, tone, balance, power and coordination; mental - problem solving, focus, concentration and body awareness; to the emotional - relaxation, a sense of achievement and a feeling that mind and body are working together perfectly ('feeling psyched'). On top of all this, bouldering tends to be a very social sport where you can hang out with mates and each have a go as you feel regardless of what level you climb at.

Short North Street Skates return Saturday, April 4 and we’re excited to get back rolling together. These weekly rollouts are a chance to move through the city as a group, build community, and create more visibility for skating and small-wheeled movement in Columbus. Details: Meet: 1160 N High St 9:30 AM meet 10:00 AM rollout All wheels welcome We’ll be skating through the Short North and surrounding areas at a steady, social pace. Routes will use a mix of streets and bike lanes, so comfort navigating the city is helpful, but you don’t need to be an expert. If you’ve been meaning to come out, this is a great place to start. Come solo or bring a friend!

The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~20 per person. Soft drink refills are 1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. Thank you for your continued commitment to providing a fun and welcoming space to veteran, newbie, and rookie gamers in the Columbus area. Parking can sometimes fill esrly. There is additional parking lot behind the neighboring Mexican restaurant that is free and easy to walk from but it's a bit hidden.
