Whether you’ve read the whole book, only just started, or simply want to come along and listen, you’re very welcome. Sangha (or 'spiritual community') Night is a chance for those practicing meditation and Buddhism to come together. The evening usually consists of a period of meditation, a talk about Buddhism and a Puja after a short tea-break. **Practical details:** The night will start at 7pm sharp so arrive a little early to ensure a punctual start. **7 pm** – Meditation **7.25 pm** – Talk with Questions and Answers **8.10 pm** – Tea-Break **8.30 pm** – Puja **9.15 pm** – Finish This event is for: * Sangha members both new and long-standing. * Meditators or Buddhists with some experience who want to visit the Dublin Buddhist Centre for the first time. * Those totally new to meditation or Buddhism who want to jump in at the deep-end. Each month there will be an overarching theme, and each week will be a Buddhist Talk on some aspect of that theme. All our Sangha Nights are led by members of the Triratna Buddhist Order. Do you understand French but struggle to speak naturally when it’s time to respond? Join a relaxed French conversation group (online) where we use real French conversations as a way to practise speaking French in a natural and structured way. This is not a traditional lesson. It’s a guided conversation space where you practise speaking through real-life content. ## 📰 This session’s topic : **Docteur Love** 💘 In this session, we will work with a short audio extract from a French radio show, where a love coach gives relationship advice live on air. What makes this extract especially interesting is that the coach speaks very naturally — with hesitations, pauses, filler words like *euuuh* and *bah*, just like in real spoken French. You’ll get exposed to authentic French as it is actually spoken by native speakers, not polished scripted French. ## 🎥 BEFORE THE SESSION Before the meetup, you will watch a short 1-minute French video clip. This video will give you key vocabulary and context, so you feel more comfortable speaking during the session. You will also receive a few simple comprehension questions to help you prepare your ideas. ## 💬 DURING THE MEETUP (ONLINE) We will use this content as a starting point for discussion and speaking practice. You will be guided through conversation activities to help you : You will be guided through conversation activities to help you : * Define and describe concepts in French (for example what is love? what makes a healthy relationship?). * Give advice and recommendations naturally. * Express your opinions about relationships and emotions. * Justify your ideas and explain your reasoning. A phone free night to connect with others, create, read, write, relax or just chill. No technology and lots of things to do. A phone-free night in Dublin city centre to slow down and spend time offline. It's a €3 entry but **free for all Meetup members,** just show you're part of the group at the door :) Come along for an easygoing evening of reading, making, chatting, relaxing, or just having a break from screens for a few hours. No phones, no notifications, no pressure to do anything in particular. The welcome event is taking place in a mystery venue near Temple Bar and will only be sent to ticket holders. We’ll have a large upstairs space with light background music and plenty of room to settle in however you feel like. Attendees are encouraged to come alone as we want people to meet others. There’ll be collage materials, paper, pens, magazines, and drawing supplies available throughout the night. Bring a book if you’ve been meaning to read. Start a collage. Draw. Journal. Meet someone new. Come with friends or come on your own. You’re welcome to chat with people or keep to yourself. Both are equally encouraged. You don't need any acting/stage experience to join us. It is meant for beginners and improvers. **What we will do:** *Group exercises to warm up and feel safe playing - Play improvised scenes Each person has their own way of improvising, of playing characters, that are fun for an audience to watch and fun to play. Maybe the mind, with its judgment and fear, is now hiding this part of you. Instead of drinking and partying, we come together for storytelling, music, and meaningful conversation in a warm, welcoming space. If you’re aged 18–30 and looking to connect with others, share ideas, listen deeply, or express yourself creatively, this evening is for you. No experience with Buddhism is required — just an openness to conversation and connection. Join us at the Dublin Buddhist Centre for an informal night of music, stories, and conversations that matter. Alternative Friday Night runs once a month on a Friday evening. Open Shelter has teamed up again with Red White and Boom! Friday, July 3rd & we are looking for volunteers to run the event’s alcohol booths. Proceeds from sales go to the Open Shelter’s organization. There are two available shifts: 12-6p & 5-11p. There will be an ipad-like device to process transactions in addition to cash. Everything will be in bottles or cans, so transactions should be very easy. Must be 21+. There are multiple beverage stations along the Civic Center Bridge. The stations are covered and also have beverage trucks next to them, so volunteers can cool off in the trucks. As far as parking, it is suggested those who are coming from the east use the Columbus Commons Garage, and those from the west use the Belle Street Garage.
