📵 Offline Walk - Howth & Baily Lighthouse Loop⛰️🌊 (No-phone)
📵 Offline Walk - Howth & Baily Lighthouse Loop⛰️🌊 (No-phone)
**The perfect way to spend a Saturday?** 🌞 Join The Offline Club Dublin as we head North to explore the rugged, breathtaking cliffs of Howth. On **Saturday, April 25th**, we’re trading the digital buzz for the sound of the waves and the fresh salty air of the Irish Sea. ⛰️🌊 **Where we meet:** We’re gathering at the **Howth DART Station** at **11:00 AM**. We’ll hang around until 11:15 to make sure everyone finds us! Maja & Lexie will be there before (visual guide will be sent a day before the walk!) 🥾 The Route: We’ll be taking on the beautiful **Howth and Baily Lighthouse Loop**. This is a 7.6km trail that brings us along the cliff edge with views that’ll make you forget all about your Instagram feed. It’s a moderate-to-low difficulty hike with an elevation gain of 268m—enough to get the heart pumping, but plenty of time to stop and soak in the scenery. Expect about 2–3 hours of pure coastal magic! 📵 The Vibe: No phones allowed, but you can take your "normal" camera! 📷 **📸 Bonus:** We will have a **photographer on-site**! This means you can keep your phone tucked away and still have beautiful photos of the day to look back on later. We’ll share the gallery with everyone afterwards. ✨ What to expect: * **Coastal Views:** Stunning lookouts over the Baily Lighthouse and the cliffs. * **Silent Time: 15-25 minutes of silent time at the stunning viewpoint** * **Genuine Connection:** A chance to meet like-minded people who also want to spend less time on their screens. * **Optional Social:** We’ll finish back in Howth village for an optional coffee or ice cream! 🍦 🕰️ The Schedule: * **11:00 – 11:15 \|** Meet at Howth DART Station. * **11:15 – 14:00 \|** The Loop: Connection with others & nature. * **14:00 \|** Arrival back & soft goodbyes (or optional social). **Dedicated Silent Time at one of the viewpoints!** 🐥 What to bring: * **👟 Comfortable Shoes:** You'll need decent grip for the cliff paths! * **🌦️ Layers & Rain Gear:** It’s Ireland in April—let’s be prepared for the sea breeze! * **💧 Water & Snacks:** Stay hydrated as we hike. * **💛 Yourself:** Just as you are. No "content" needed, just your presence. * **🦮 Pets:** More than welcome! (Just remember the lead and bags 💩). 🎟️ Tickets & Support: This walk is **donation-based**. We believe offline time should be accessible to everyone. If you’d like to support our mission and help us organise more of these events, any contribution is warmly welcomed! 💛 Love the vibe but want something more cosy? Check out our private Reading Parties and hangouts here: [https://www.meetup.com/the-offline-club-dublin/](https://www.meetup.com/the-offline-club-dublin/) We can’t wait to see you there! **Hugs, Maja & Lexie** 🦄🦆

Dirty Jazz Club at Arthur’s
Dirty Jazz Club at Arthur’s
Hey everyone! Getting a small group together for a night at Arthur’s—with good music & good people! 🎷 🎟 Purchase Your Tickets Here: https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/the-dirty-jazz-club-tickets-1408301631089?aff=ebdssbdestsearch (Not my event—just bringing a few people together to head along.) The Dirty Jazz Club have been part of Dublin’s underground jazz scene for over two decades—known for their loose, expressive style and deep musical interplay. Less about performance, more about feel. Think Coltrane, Miles Davis, and that late-night, slightly unpredictable energy. Hope to see you there!
Tour of Government Buildings.
Tour of Government Buildings.
The Imposing complex of Government Buildings on Upper Merrion Street was the last major public building the British constructed in Ireland. It was intended as accommodation for the Royal College of Science. Fortuitously, it was completed by 1922. When Independance dawned, the New Free State Government moved in. Former Taoiseach Charlie Haughy converted and entirely refurbished the building to form state-of-the-art accommodation for a number of departments including the Department of the Taoiseach, the Department of Finance and the Office of the Attorney General. Tours of Government Buildings may be cancelled at short notice if they have visiting dignitaries etc. Tickets may be obtained from the National Gallery at the onsite coffee shop where the guide sets up a small table. Tickets are free but on a first come first served basis. We need to be there for 9.30am to ensure a ticket. Once we have our tickets, the guide will accompany us to Government Buildings.

reviving gardans, Growing community
reviving gardans, Growing community
**Hands in the Soil: Community Growing, Learning & Craic** This first gathering will be a relaxed mix of **hands-on garden work, shared learning, and good conversation**. It’s about getting together in a real space, doing something practical, and seeing what ideas and connections might grow from there. On the day, we’ll: * Get our **hands dirty** with some light garden work and soil prep * Do some **seed sowing** and talk about what grows well locally * **Make kombucha together** and chat about fermentation, food, and simple home practices * Share knowledge, questions, and experiences around growing food * Enjoy some **fellowship, chats, and a bit of craic** along the way.Alongside the practical side, we’ll also have an open, informal discussion about a bigger idea: * The possibility of **small community “park farms” or gardens** in underused green spaces around Dublin * What that might look like, what’s realistic, and whether others feel drawn to exploring it further There’s no pressure, no expertise required, and no expectation beyond showing up with curiosity and a willingness to pitch in. Whether you’re experienced with gardening or completely new, you’re very welcome. Bring clothes you don’t mind getting muddy, and if you have them, gloves. Everything else will be very low-key. This is just a **first step** — a chance to meet, work, talk, and see if there’s a shared appetite to keep growing something together.
