How AI Coding Agents actually work
How AI Coding Agents actually work
Welcome back to another Malmö AI Devs Meetup! Please note that this meetup will be held at a different location than usual. This time, we’ll be at Valvet. **The talk:** Claude Code, MCP, Tools, Hooks, Skills... OMG! AI coding agents are everywhere, but the jargon is piling up fast. Claude Code, MCP, tools, hooks, skills, system prompts, context windows... what does it all actually mean, and how do the pieces fit together? In this session, we'll cut through the buzzwords and look at what really happens when a coding agent works on your behalf. Using the open-source Coding Agent Explorer, we'll observe a live coding agent in action and watch the actual API calls, tool invocations, MCP traffic, and hook events as they happen in real time. You'll walk away with a solid mental model of how a coding agent actually works, from the first prompt to the final code change, and the confidence to reason about these tools rather than just trust the magic. **Speaker:** Tore Nestenius [https://nestenius.se/](https://nestenius.se/) **Location:** [Valvet Tech AB](https://valvet.tech/) Djäknegatan 5 211 35 Malmö

Beasts of the Sea by Iida Turpeinen
Beasts of the Sea by Iida Turpeinen
In March we are reading [Beasts of the Sea by Iida Turpeinen](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/228646203-beasts-of-the-sea). This is (probably) our first Finnish book! We hope to see you for a great discussion. Synopsis: In 1741, thirty-two-year-old naturalist Georg Wilhelm Steller joins Captain Bering's Great Northern Expedition to scout out a sea route from Asia to America. Plagued with hardships, captain and crew never reach their goal, but they do make a unique discovery, a gentle giant that will be named for the young explorer who described Steller’s sea cow. In 1859, the governor of the Russian territory of Alaska sends his men to seek the skeleton of the massive marine mammal rumored to have vanished a hundred years before, while his sister curates the settlement’s peculiar natural science collection. Two years later, a revered Helsinki professor hires a talented illustrator—a woman!—to make precise drawings of a set of bones sent from afar. The ill-fated beast will help introduce to a skeptical public the concept of human-caused extinction. Finally, in 1952, the Museum of Zoology assigns its most talented restorer the task of refurbishing the antique skeleton, a testimony to the sea cow's fate that will fire the imaginations of future generations. *Beasts of the Sea* is a breathtaking literary achievement and an adventure that crosses continents and centuries. Told through the stories of the men and women touched by the long-ago discovery of a curious and placid creature, it is a tale of grand human ambition, the quest for knowledge, and the urge to resurrect what humankind has, in its ignorance, destroyed

Botanical Cyanotypes
Botanical Cyanotypes
Join us for a cosy artsy evening, where I'll take you through the process of making botanical cyanotype prints. It is easy, less toxic and less expensive than most other photographic print-making techniques.
The workshop requires no prior experience and I will provide all necessary materials for you to make two A5-sized prints. Nb! Please be aware that the app might lead you to the wrong address. The correct address is Glasvej 3, 1st floor (Studio NV) **Les Amis** is a women-only community of friendly souls. The Philosophy of HAPPINESS (!) — From Buddha to Brain Scans! We will explore...
The Philosophy of HAPPINESS (!) — From Buddha to Brain Scans! We will explore...
**“The Philosophy of Happiness (!) — From Buddha to Brain Scans”** Meaning, Pleasure, Discipline, Faith, and What It Means to Live Well Everyone wants to be happy—but no one seems to agree on what that actually means. Is happiness inner peace or external success? Pleasure or purpose? Detachment, discipline, faith, or self-optimization? Across history, cultures, and now science, radically different answers compete for our attention. This isn’t a self-help workshop or a mindfulness class. It’s a philosophical conversation about happiness as an idea, a practice, and a social goal. *** **Topics we’ll touch on:** * Buddha and the end of suffering: desire, attachment, and liberation * Stoicism: control, resilience, and emotional discipline * Hedonism: pleasure, limits, and whether “more” ever satisfies * Religion and happiness: salvation, meaning, and transcendence * Modern self-help: empowerment, illusion, or coping strategy? * What does science say? Brains, dopamine, habits, and well-being data * Can a society be “happy”—and should happiness be a political goal? * And finally… is happiness something to pursue, cultivate, accept—or stop chasing altogether? Casual discussion. No philosophical or scientific background required—just curiosity and lived experience. Whether you feel content, restless, skeptical, or searching—you’re not alone. Let’s explore happiness not as a slogan—but as one of humanity’s oldest and hardest questions.

Shut Up & Write!™ Copenhagen
Shut Up & Write!™ Copenhagen
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at our Copenhagen Shut Up & Write! sessions. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, résumé, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: - 15 minutes of hellos and getting settled; maybe some quick intros. - Then, the timer starts! : writing for 1 hour. - After the hour is up... chat / take off / keep writing, if you're on a roll. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens once the hour of writing is complete. Writing can be very solitary... connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. It's best to be on time, but BEING LATE IS ALSO OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check in with us after the session. (We’ll be the ones with the small Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. What Should I Bring? Whatever you need to be able to write! Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.

ENG The topics we will vote to discuss are Emotional presence / mindfulness, Apathy / indifference and Emotional saturation. 1 emotion topics and 2 personal challenges topic to vote for discussion. We will try as a group of random people to sit down and talk about emotions or personal challenges. Not necessarily to find a solution or an improvement, but to share perspectives and maybe discover new perspectives. Some people like to talk, some like to listen, at the start of each event, declare if you would prefer to participate in the discussion or prefer to listen in and chime in with an occasional question. If only danish speaking people are coming we will speak danish, if there are non danish speaking people coming we will speak English. From Web Forms to Web Components - Burton Smith
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you. The building address is 4450 Bridge Park The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400 **Abstract** Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively. This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. We’ll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from server‑driven controls, and why they’re becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether you’re maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, you’ll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standards‑based way. **YouTube Link** [https://youtube.com/live/fD2cYeKp_UU?feature=share](https://youtube.com/live/fD2cYeKp_UU?feature=share)
