* **Purpose:** To raise awareness for peace, mindfulness, and compassion, not as a protest, but as a moving meditation.
* **Journey:** A roughly 2,300-mile trek across several states, beginning in October 2025 and expected to finish in February 2026, with Washington, D.C., as the destination.
* **Participants:** 19 monks and a rescue dog, Aloka (The Peace Dog).
* **Method:** The monks walk in silence, often barefoot, engaging in [mindful practice](https://www.google.com/search?q=mindful+practice&sca_esv=88967a97f71d192c&hl=en&source=hp&ei=WQlnafi5LPWz5NoPwrO1KQ&iflsig=AFdpzrgAAAAAaWcXaY2YxerYQCnaYyPDxGnEnebiLN0K&ved=2ahUKEwiU0s29h4qSAxW4FlkFHX9sJ0UQgK4QegQIAxAG&uact=5&oq=what+is+the+walk+for+pease+movement&gs_lp=Egdnd3Mtd2l6IiN3aGF0IGlzIHRoZSB3YWxrIGZvciBwZWFzZSBtb3ZlbWVudDIHECEYoAEYCjIHECEYoAEYCjIHECEYoAEYCjIHECEYoAEYCkj_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_ZIHBDQxLjOgB5iSArIHBDM2LjO4B_AUwgcGMy4zMy44yAdegAgA&sclient=gws-wiz), with supporters offering food, water, and lodging.
* **Community Interaction:** They tie blessing strings (a simple thread) on supporters' wrists as tangible reminders of peace, fostering a connection between the journey and the individuals.
* **Online Presence:** The group actively shares updates, photos, and live maps on social media (Facebook), garnering significant support and media attention.
In essence, it's a walking meditation and grassroots effort to promote a message of inner and outer peace through personal example and community connection across the United States.
**Proper & Respectful Practice TO BE FOLLOW when meeting the Monks:**
**1\. Choose simple\, clean flowers \-** Fresh flowers without strong fragrance are ideal. Simplicity reflects sincerity.
**2\. Place them low\, not high \-** Gently place the flowers on the ground, never at head level or above the monk.
**3\. Do not block the path \-** Set the flowers slightly to the side or just ahead of where the monk will step, allowing him to pass naturally without changing his stride.
**4\. Kneel or bow if appropriate \-** If culturally appropriate, kneel or bow briefly after placing the flowers. Keep movements calm and unhurried.
**5\. Maintain silence \-** Avoid speaking, calling attention, or making eye contact unless the monk initiates it.
**6\. Step back mindfully \-** After placing the flowers, step back to allow space. Let the offering speak for itself.
**7\. Offer with intention\, "not expectation" \-** The true offering is your mindfulness and gratitude, not recognition.
\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-
**Proper way to present your self to a Monk:**
To show respect in front of a Buddhist monk, it is generally recommended to **bow with your palms pressed together** (known as the *añjali* gesture or *wai* in Thai culture), which is a common and appropriate form of greeting and reverence. Full prostration (the "kowtow") is typically reserved for sacred objects like a Buddha statue during specific ceremonies, not as a casual greeting.
Here are the appropriate steps and considerations for greeting a Buddhist monk:
The Basic Greeting (Añjali/Wai)
1. **Bring your hands together, palm-to-palm, in front of your chest**. This gesture is called *añjali* (or *wai* in Thailand) and can be used as a greeting, a thank-you, or when speaking with the monk.
2. **Raise your hands** to a level appropriate for the monk's status.
* For a typical monk, the hands are often raised to the level of the lowered forehead, with the index fingers or thumbs touching the forehead.
* The higher the hands and the lower the bow, the more respect shown.
3. **Accompany the gesture with a slight bow of your head or from the waist**, keeping your back and neck straight.
4. **Avoid physical contact** such as shaking hands, especially if you are a woman, as many monks follow a strict code of conduct regarding physical contact with people of the opposite sex.
\* Deeper Expression of Respect (Prostration/Kowtow)
A more profound sign of respect, often referred to as kowtow in a general sense, is the full **prostration** (known as *krab* in Thai culture). This is typically done during formal ceremonies in a temple or shrine room:
1. **Kneel** on the floor with your body composed. Men usually sit on their heels, while women may sit with their legs tucked to one side.
2. **Bow forward**, placing your palms on the floor about six inches apart, and touch your forehead to the floor between your hands.
3. **Repeat this three times** to show reverence to the Triple Gem (Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha).
4. Avoid pointing your feet toward the monk or a Buddha image while seated or prostrating, as this is considered highly disrespectful in many cultures.
**General Etiquette**
* **Address the monk respectfully:** Use titles such as "Bhante" (Pali for "Venerable Sir") or "Venerable". In some traditions, senior monks with over ten years of experience may be addressed as "Ajahn" (Thai for "teacher").
* **Dress modestly:** Ensure your shoulders, chest, and knees are covered when visiting a temple or meeting a monk.
* **Sit at a lower level:** If the monk is sitting, you should sit as well, avoiding sitting in a higher position than the monk.
* **Use both hands when offering something** and avoid passing items directly to a monk of the opposite gender; use a receiving cloth or place the item on a nearby surface instead.
* **Be mindful of your feet:** Never point the soles of your feet towards a monk or a Buddha image.

Unhappy Hour Breathwork: Release Emotional Wounds, Heart Break and Grief
### **What’s Unhappy Hour Breathwork, you ask? It’s our conscious breathing session to embrace our discomfort, sip some soothing tea, and dive deep into the beautiful chaos that is our childhood trauma, daddy issues, mommy issues, work stress, and those oh-so-fun failed relationships. Think of it as a cozy gathering where we can unpack our baggage together, all while sharing a laugh or two (or maybe a few tears).** Let’s be real life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows, and that’s perfectly okay.**We will give ourselves permission to be gloriously miserable for a full 90 minutes to** release the weight of our struggles. By using our own conscious breathing we’ll transform our experiences into something powerful and healing. Session will end with a soothing sound bath. Tea will be provided! Mark your calendars for this weekly dose of camaraderie and self-discovery.
**What is Breathwork?** Breathwork falls under an umbrella term with many different marketing names and techniques. For this session we will be focusing in one technique while laying down on our back. This is NOT your typical relaxing breathing and it DOES NOT INVOLVE ANY YOGA movement. Breathwork takes us deep into the subconscious mind to make necessary changes and improve our lives by releasing emotional baggage and healing emotional wounds. When we tap into deep states of consciousness emotional release may take the shape of crying, laughing, even screaming. Many people like to call it years of therapy in one single session. It is very common to experience moments of clarity, bliss and many Aha moments during this session. Each person will experience something different with every session. All you need is an open mind and your own breathing to achieve results with no prior experience. Please note breathwork cautions before booking.
**What you may experience during this session:**
-Deep healing of emotional wounds, grief and traumas
-Ability to connect to your higher self, Ancestors and the divine
-Release anxiety -Improve emotional balance
-Increased feelings of joy, happiness, and inner peace
-Ability to create self-love and improve relationships
**What to bring:**
-Your own water bottle
-A pen and notebook
-A Yoga mat (or use one at the studio)
-A blanket ( or use one at the studio)
-Eye mask (if you have one)
-Comfortable clothes to breathe and lay down

Is Love Something You DO?
**Is Love Something You DO? (Free Event)**
***
**We all know about love in our personal relationships, that it’s not just something you think or even say but that it’s something you show by putting what you’re feeling into practice. But what happens when we think about love in a wider context? How do we embrace loving those beyond our existing circles? What about all of humanity? Is it enough to simply feel love for all mankind, or do we also have to seek out ways to put that into practice? This can seem like a daunting task, but even coming together with people of different backgrounds and beliefs and exploring these ideas together in an open and respectful setting can help contribute to creating the world we want to see!**
**Come join a different kind of conversation – one that welcomes every perspective in a search for the truths that unite us all – as we discuss the spiritual perspectives offered by the Bahá’í Teachings on the power of love in action. Join us for a lively discussion as we explore how developing that practice in ourselves and in others can help create the change we want to see in the world.**
**“Do not be content with showing friendship in words alone, let your heart burn with loving kindness for all who may cross your path.” – Bahá’í Teachings**
**\*\*\* This event is free and open to all regardless of background or belief. Donations will not be accepted.**

Guided Light Language Meditations
Join us for a transformative sound and vibration journey, where you'll experience the profound energy of Light Language. Unlike traditional languages with fixed alphabets and agreed-upon meanings, Light Language is a vibrational expression that transcends human limitations and speaks directly to your soul and DNA. Some would call Light Language the “Language of the Soul.” This multidimensional, non-linear communication is best described as an experience, originating from within the soul, the Earth's guardians, or star nations. It uniquely resonates with each individual's vibrational needs, facilitating clearing, balancing, and aligning the body with newfound clarity.
During the evening, Bill Sanda will guide the group through three Light Language meditations, with discussions in between.
Investment: $20

Guided Light Language Mediations
Space is limited so a RSVP is required. This will inside be by the fire in our large great room

Guided Light Language Meditation
**Join us for a transformative sound and vibration journey, where you’ll experience the profound energy of Light Language.** Unlike traditional languages with fixed alphabets and agreed-upon meanings, Light Language is a vibrational expression that transcends human limitations, speaking directly to your soul and cellular intelligence.
**Often called the “Language of the Soul,” this multidimensional, non-linear form of communication is not meant to be understood by the mind, but felt and received.** It may originate from the soul itself, the Earth’s guardians, and universal energies, and it resonates uniquely with each individual’s energetic needs. Through this resonance, Light Language supports deep clearing, balancing, and realignment—opening the body and consciousness to greater clarity, harmony, and integration.
During the evening, Bill Sanda will guide the group through several Light Language meditations, with discussions in between.

Spa for Your Soul: A Sacred Pause for Renewal and Wholeness
Join us at **Unity of Columbus** for *Spa for Your Soul*, a restorative and inspiring workshop designed to nourish your spirit, awaken your inner wisdom, and reconnect you with the sacred rhythm of life.
Drawing from the rich spiritual insights of **Matthew Fox** and the timeless theological wisdom of **Thomas Aquinas**, this workshop invites participants into a deeper experience of spirituality rooted in compassion, creativity, and divine presence. Together, we will explore spirituality not as something distant or abstract, but as a lived, embodied experience—one that honors joy, justice, beauty, and the inherent goodness of creation.
Through guided reflection, gentle spiritual practices, discussion, and contemplative moments, *Spa for Your Soul* offers a sacred space to release stress, renew clarity, and remember the divine spark within. This is an opportunity to pause, breathe, and tend lovingly to your soul—much like a spa experience, but for your inner life.
Whether you are seeking spiritual refreshment, deeper understanding, or simply a peaceful space to be present, this workshop welcomes you exactly as you are.
**Come, rest, reflect, and renew—your soul deserves it.**

We are excited to host Guided Meditations on Sundays at 6 pm in our Ashram/Gallery/Home! !! !!
Everyone wants to know what kind of God we worship and what kind of meditation we do. We worship the GOD that LOVES US! We understand that god is an energy and it lives in us as us. Our meditations guide others to actually experience that energy! xoxo We don't just talk about peace, love and affection, we experience it :)
Also we are a home not a business, so we enjoy building community one friend at a time. We always build in time for people to mingle & develop friendships! xoxo Much Love, Frank Tennyson
