Hi all, cost and info below. Please join everyone for a stunning 3.5 mile or 5.5 mile beautiful linear walk. Some amazing highlights on the walk include the first place the motor car was invented, built and driven in the UK, see where the first recorded airplane flight took place in the UK too nearby!
The modern bicycle was invented in Walthamstow too (not on this walk), We visit an old pumphouse with a restaurant in an underground train carriage! Visit an old mill with a wonderful view, have a break with a wonderful cafe in an old engine room! See the Walthamstow Wetlands and a lovely walk along the River Lee.
Please maybe bring a coat to keep warm, it can get very windy up on the wetlands. You also have the option to choose the lower path which is not so windy, but with fewer views in places.
Includes 20 mins stop at the pumphouse at 2 miles, 10 mins at Copper Mill and a stop at a waterside cafe for about 30 mins at 3 miles for refreshments and facilities.

ABOUT OUR SECRET LONDON WALKS
It is a 15-year fascinating journey together to explore the whole of beautiful, enchanting Secret London. The only walking group in the World offering this unique experience!
The individual walks have been created from an original route several miles in length (usually on average about 25 miles) where we have checked every nook and cranny, every hidden alleyway, lane, lost cobbled path, cul de sac, avenue, road or street in that area for you! It is then shortened, to give back to you a magical walk with all the best bits of 'Lovely London', voted the best City in the World for the 10th year running!
What is given back to you is the most scenic, healthy walk (usually 3-6 miles in length) with some of the walks containing hidden cobbled lanes, lost shops, secret gems, areas lost in time, wonderful views, idyllic Instagram photo shots and all sorts! Now and then some brief local info is mentioned or something of historical importance along the way.
You will have plenty of time to chat and meet new friends whilst walking the amazing lost areas of London! So we welcome you to the colourful highlights of this fascinating City of London with simply wonderful things to see!

Circle Line Ride.
12 -16 mile urban ride following circle line.
Starting Point: Clapham Common Bandstand:
Rock N Roll Showbiz Tour: Music, Radio, Theatre, Media, Film & TV + Drinks
If you’re artistic and creative — or were always that kid who dreamed of working in exciting sexi professions of entertainment, fashion, music or the performing arts — then this will be right up your street!
An insider showbiz and entertainment walk led by someone who’s lived inside the industry - a radio music founder, presentator and club DJ, a former Correspondent for a global News Agency bigger than the BBC, an advertising / media agency exe, a red-carpet luxury fashion brand strategist and a failed boy band muscian (I still got the spiked hair!). So you can expect stories to be told with real passion, authenticity, personality and first hand knowledge...
This 90 mins backstage wander will take you straight through London’s creative arts & entertainment industry showbiz bloodstream. We’re talking live broadcasting nerve centres, global pop stars, legendary stages, Hollywood hideouts, iconic comedy clubs, ad agencies that won general elections (think Nigella Lawson), recording studios, fashion designers, radio powerhouses, and the secret corners where reputations are negotiated over overpriced cocktails — all set against the music soundtrack of a city that’s launched everything from Britpop to boybands to global club culture.
You’ll hear where the UK’s biggest radio stations broke chart‑toppers annd turned unknowns into global popstars, where stars of the film and stage made their name, how certain streets shaped entire genres, how comedians went from dingy basements to national treasures, and why London’s music scene has always been the city’s loudest, messiest, most influential creative engine in the world
This free tour will unapologetically appeal to:
* **Pop‑culture lovers** who treat celebrity interviews and album drops like sacred texts
* **Creatives & media people** who love a bit of insider sparkle and know the difference between a PR stunt and a genuine cultural moment
* **Entertainment Culture lovers** who collect fun facts from music, film, art and can name their favourite live performance of all time
* **People working in or have a passion for films, theatre, radio, music, comedy, TV, dance, media, advertising** (**e,g M&C Saatchi)**, **performing arts** and everything in between
* Anyone craving something different and creative yet authentic, fun with just the right amount of chaos
Expect a crowd that gets excited about the things normal people pretend not to care about — iconic ad campaigns, legendary performances, scandalous headlines, radio gossip, film magic, music history, and the beautiful mess of how culture actually gets made.
You’ll walk, you’ll laugh, you’ll learn things you absolutely did not expect, and you’ll leave feeling like you’ve unlocked a secret level of London — the one where the stories, the scandals, and the soundtracks all collide

**Where to sit:**
* Feel free to book your seat anywhere that's comfortable for your viewing needs
* **Note**: At Cineworld West India Quay, the rows with fewer seats (as shown on the seating plan when you book) are the previously branded 'Star Seats' (which is the standard type of seat for all screens at Cineworld at The O2), which are wider and more comfortable, with pivoting backs and liftable arm rests, so you may prefer to book one of those
**How to find us:**
* We meet **after** the film finishes, outside the screen, in the corridor
**Post-movie activity:**
* When we're not watching another film after this one, we tend to go to a pub, bar or restaurant afterwards for drinks and/or food, and discussion
* The venue will be decided on the day, after we meet outside the screen (but we usually go to [The Ledger Building](https://www.jdwetherspoon.com/pubs/all-pubs/england/london/the-ledger-building-docklands)).
**Note:** The adverts and trailers at this cinema now run for approximately 20 to 25 minutes from the advertised start time.
We hope to see you afterwards,

ℹ️ Exploring the Thames Industrial Past:
The walk, which follows the Thames Path heading west toward Battersea, passes:
▪️Battersea Power Station - built in 1933 to provide London's electricity. It is currently going through a huge redevelopment and repurposing for offices, shops and residences together with new surrounding developments and transport links.
▪️Battersea Park - opened by Queen Victoria in 1858
▪️Tideway Village - a floating community of houseboats (if path is open)
▪️Albert Bridge - built in 1873. The only bridge in London to still have its tollbooths at either end (though not in use now!).
▪️The Couper Collection - the oldest barges remaining on the Thames

Rave Curious? Jessica Audiffred @ Otherworld
Have you always wanted to check out a rave… but didn’t know where to start?
This is your chance.
Whether you're a seasoned headbanger or completely new, we’d love to have you out.
On April 11, Jessica Audiffred is taking over Otherworld — and this is *not* your typical venue. It’s a massive immersive art space filled with surreal rooms, hidden passages, and interactive exhibits… and for this show, almost all of it is open.
So you’re not just going to a concert — you’re stepping into an environment:
🎧 A high-energy bass set that you *feel*
🌀 A labyrinth of trippy, explorable art spaces
👯♂️ A group to go with so you’re not figuring it out alone
You can lose yourself in the crowd, disappear into another room, find something completely unexpected, and then come back right as the drop hits.
No pressure, no “right way” to do it — just explore, move, and take it in at your own pace.
📍 Otherworld, Columbus
🗓 April 11
🕙 Doors open at 10:15 PM (music does not start in the exhibit space until 10:30 PM.)
If you’ve been even a little curious about what this scene is like, this is one of the most unique ways to experience it.
RSVP if you’re in 👇
There’s no cost to attend with the group—just the event ticket for Otherworld. Tickets are $40, plus some fees 🙄.
You can use code "BassBuds" or "Bangers" for $5 off, which makes it \~$43 out the door.
