Never been? Well, let me tell you it's quite the experience. I recommend bringing comfy clean clothes and anything that makes you feel safe. We will work together using language and presence to cocreate safety. It helps to come prepared with your favorite stuffed animal or a water bottle or snacks that make you feel good. This sober event will last about 4 hours give or take a few minutes and we will begin by 5:00pm. That means doors will lock and we will all put away our phones. (so if you think you'll be late let me know) There will be a meditation and some exercises before we engage in a Cuddle Social that will last roughly 2 hours. Please know that No Touch is Required throughout my events. I'm slowly learning to trust myself and opening up to vulnerability. It's a long journey that I hope you will join me on. Please note that space is limited in my current location. I will accept the first 12-15 paid tickets. Please let me know if you are unable to make it. I can either give credit or refund you for your ticket if you communicate prior to the event start time. Hugs!!! Crystal

Recovering from Religion VIRTUAL Support Group
Recovering from Religion VIRTUAL Support Group
**GO TO EVENTBRITE FOR LINK TO MEETING:** https://www.eventbrite.com/e/recovering-from-religion-virtual-support-group-meeting-registration-159506756001?aff=oddtdtcreator This is an RfR-wide event, not tied to any particular local chapter. The Virtual Chapter Recovering From Religion support group will meet the the 1st Sunday of each month at 6 PM Central Time AS WELL AS at the 3rd Saturday of each month at 9 AM. This meeting will be held virtually via Zoom. Attendees are welcome to share, but may also decide to remain anonymous if they so choose. The primary focus of a Recovering From Religion support group is to provide ongoing and personal support to individuals as they let go of their religious beliefs. This transitional period is an ongoing process that can result in a range of emotions, as well as a ripple effect of consequences throughout an individual’s life. As such, the support meetings are safe and anonymous places to express these doubts, fears, and experiences without biased feedback or proselytizing. We are here to help each other through this journey. There is no cost to attend this support group but, if you feel so inclined, donations can be made at www.recoveringfromreligion.org/donate If you find you need to talk with someone before the meeting date, RfR has a hotline and online chat for that express purpose. Call (844) 368-2848 to speak with someone. Go to www.recoveringfromreligion.org and click on the green chat bubble in the lower left corner of the site to chat online. If you are in need of professional help, we can offer the Secular Therapy Project to provide options to connect with a professional therapist. All therapists have been thoroughly vetted by our organization and offer only evidence-based and non-religious treatment. Connect with them at www.seculartherapy.org. Like what RfR does? Why not volunteer! There are quite a few options. Head over to www.recoveringfromreligion.org/volunteer for more info.

May Kick Off
May Kick Off
Hello! Are you ready to claim the title of **Uno Champ for the month of May**? If so, pack a lunch and meet me at the park for a relaxed “happy hour” of Uno and outdoor games as we strengthen our social confidence together in a safe, supportive environment. Feel free to bring a guest if having someone with you makes the first day out easier. The exact park location will be shared as we get closer to the date, and we’ll move indoors if rain is expected. This is a socially safe space — I’ve walked through social anxiety myself, so I understand exactly how it feels. I’ve also included a quick video tutorial on how to play Uno to help you warm up. [Uno - video how to play](https://youtu.be/FkuqYtE1rw0?si=Y1eUF2AOfvqHx14l) I hope the video tutorial helps. See you soon. Until then, enjoy this beautiful weather.

VSDC Volunteer Day at Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary
Join us for a VSDC volunteer day at Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary! It is a great way to lend a hand while enjoying up-close time with the more than 200 animals that call Poplar home. Volunteer tasks will range from those requiring mobility and strength to less demanding activities, including raking, cleaning barns and pastures, and washing and refilling water buckets. Wear clothing and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. No food or drink is available on-site, so bring water. Please leave snacks in the car so the animals don't help themselves. Please arrive by 9:45 am so we can gather and start at 10 am sharp.
