Ranked #29 best steak in the world - Steer Dining Room
Ranked #29 best steak in the world - Steer Dining Room
Steer Dining Room has become one of a handful of Australian restaurants to serve genuine Kobe beef, the most sought-after kind of Wagyu. The delicate meat (from Japan’s Hyogo prefecture) stands out for its high marbled fat content, which causes it to melt at low temperatures. Awarded 29th in the World’s Best Steaks for 2026 (the highest ranking awarded to a Melbourne venue), the awards write-up states, ā€œSteer Dining Room is not about spectacle; it is about mastery. Through its commitment to sourcing, its reverence for wagyu and its measured execution, it has secured its place as an essential institution for those who see steak not merely as a meal, but as a craft.ā€ Read more here: STEER DINING ROOM | Worldbeststeaks 2026 I have booked for 6 Fine Diners to enjoy the Signature Wagyu Degustation - 6 courses at $325 per person - for dinner from 6.15pm on Friday 3 July. You can view the menu here and it looks simply mouthwatering: https://www.steerdiningroom.com.au/_files/ugd/16cb0b_e63265bb4f3e41319004584541a580e3.pdf

Join the waitlist to express interest. Once I have names in the waitlist, I’ll send you a ā€˜Meetup Message’ to confirm you have a spot and how to pay. You’ll need to send me $100 to secure your place (equivalent to the cancellation fee - this will be deducted from your bill when we settle up). Once paid I’ll move you from the waitlist to ā€˜Attending’. As these are small group events, there are often more Fine Diners interested than there are seats available. My approach to hosting an event is to share seats around amongst members of the group in as fair a manner as I can, including mixing Fine Diners regulars with newcomers. Please be respectful if there are events when you miss out on a seat. I will always message you so you know if you have secured a seat or are still waitlisted in case a seat opens up. Please check that you don’t have your settings blocking messages; if I can’t contact you, I’ll have to move on to the next person. Also if you don’t respond to my message offering you a seat within 3 days, I’ll let you know that I’m offering the seat to another person on the waitlist.

This looks like a memorable menu for steak lovers in the group, so I hope you can join me.

Sunday Reset: Walk, Talk & Brunch
Ease into your Sunday with a calm walk, meaningful conversation, and brunch with new people. This event is all about slowing down, getting out of the house, and connecting with others in a relaxed setting. We’ll include a few simple BeSocial prompts to help break the ice and make it easier to get to know each other. Whether you’ve had a busy week, recently moved, or just want to build more real-life connection, this is a gentle way to reset and start the week feeling more connected. **Perfect for:** brunch lovers, Sunday walkers, people who prefer small groups, and anyone looking for genuine conversation. To help you get the most out of the event, we ask that you download our app before you arrive (or upon arrival). Melancholia
Melancholia
Be prepared for an entirely different type of sci-fi movie! Unofficially, the second movie in director Lars von Trier's "Depression Trilogy," 2011 Melancholia depicts the events that occur before a rogue planet is about to collide with the earth. Considered by many to be a masterpiece, the film was included in BFI's 2022 Sight and Sound Poll of the greatest movies of all time. It is available at the library as well as on Kanopy.
